You don't believe this could be some thinly disguised ruse intended to distance themselves away from the facets of this movie, right? They must be aware of the negative reception this finale is garnering by now. If not by monitoring the reviews then by the constant mail and comments being sent to Kishi and his assistant.
I don't really know and I don't really care that much anyway... sorry ^^
No matter what they try to change or repair by now, the damage has been done.

Well do you think they're capable of backtracking on this Hinata-centric path to salvage their reputation? Pierrot and Kishi have been obsessed with carving Hinata's selfish character into our skulls. It's difficult to imagine them contradicting the ending, movie, and upcoming spin-off that they're fabricating to justify this crap.

The fact that they have to try to repair it proves that it's been ruined. Yes, everyone knows that but I just hope that SP and all supporters of the actual Naruto franchise, finally all get it.

We don't even know if all these things are for real or not anymore... They'll just wait until everyone gives up because in the RL people do that, look at Kishi, he's the best example, lol. And then they can continue their Hinata wank.

Everyone gives up, meaning that no one is paying attention to their franchise anymore and their revenue prospects have been reduced to nil, yet they're still going to continue churning out Hinata just for themselves? How can a company survive when their existence is dedicated to ostracising its own customers?

Whoa! Love this TvTropes suddenly. Btw, what is TvTropes?
A website that explores generic themes, character types in all sorts of media (books, tv shows, mangas, movies etc). It's pretty spot on and sometimes very funny. This is the page for Naruto: http://tvtropes.org/...hp/Manga/Naruto
Since episode kittening 1.
I started watching it as well and love it beyond repair!
Oh, I love the Last Airbender! It's such a good childhood memory for me and my brother! Everything was perfect: Storyline, Romance, Characterization...

Simple answer: Otaku. Money making machines. That's all they care about.

Even if they ostracise the majority of their fanbase they'd still have enough to keep catering to their remaining fanbase, besides heaps of rational fans would still follow it to see where it goes.

Someone on Tumblr said it was and another blogger I know in her tags described that she looked at the tweet again and apparently given how it's phrased it would be indeed fake. Now idk what to believe anymore..
Apparently yes and from JF... And yeah I know that was my pet peeve with it also..

damn straight. if mike and bryan were to view that sexist filth they would definitely slap the kitten out of kishi. it's just inhumane to depict females that way and i hope the fans in japan feel as disgusted as we are.

Feel the way we do? Quite a lot are even more pissed off then we are, which is hard to believe but true.

Yup! I'm completely caught up with TG! Does TG usually release on Mondays? I hope so too. I posted in it way earlier this morning. Is there a way we could create a subforum specifically for the chapter discussions of manga outside of Naruto? I feel like it would be easier that way so those who don't want to be spoiled inside the discussion thread of the manga won't be, and it would be easier to find the discussions because it won't be cluttered by various surrounding topics.
XD this is true. Although, I will admit, Stephen A. looks great in that shirt and hat, his face is pricelessnow that the cowboys won the nfc east skip is going nuts right now. the stuff he's spewing is hilarious.

Nah. Even if everythng tanks, they're committed to the new movie and the series. They should already be in production on both. Slots for both should already be reserved — the movie within the movie line up for releases at the end of next year, and the manga in SJ. The movie's release can be easier delayed than than the manga too. The manga is set up for print, for a certain number of pages, so they can't even flake out on a single page. It all has to be delivered, in its entirety, to the manga by the printing deadline. They won't just have another manga of exactly the right size to fit into the slot.
So what I'm saying is that even if the whooooole ending/movie gambit had tanked (which we know it didn't), they were already obligated to the Bolt manga and the movie. And by this point the storylines have been written, and they're already knee deep in production. To capitalize on the buzz they've created, they've got to keep things coming out a fast clip.
We, the fans, are at a disadvantage because we are still reeling from how they've dismantled the series. But the reality is the people who put out Naruto (including Kishimoto) have already working on the next series.
That's why I think there will be no hint of NS or revising the end of the series. No matter how much fans complain or sales slip. They are committed to this path. More than we, as mere fans, could ever understand. The marketing that we are witnessing now is only the tip of a very large iceberg. Naruto is no longer a story — it's a brand. It is a very, very big business.
And honestly, I think they are banking on gaining new fans instead of retaining the old. That's why they've made such a break with the story, ending the manga when clearly they weren't ending Naruto's story, and calling the movie "The Last" when clearly it wasn't.

I can't imagine the Otaku fandom alone being sufficient enough to compensate for all of the disinclined fans that have already left the series. They need to attract an audience large enough to fill the empty spaces that have been left as a result of the ending.
