I doubt this is true though. I have a feeling they are trolling so I'm not going to get ahead of myself

Yes, they would.
As far as I know - Ichigo has never had any sort of feelings towards Orihime that went beyond friendship.

Given how things are being discussed I take it IchiRuki didn't happen.
If so, then I'm not gonna say I'm surprised. to be fair I've actually never had a problem with any of the Bleach Pairings at all. I think to some degree they make sense. Again haven't read the spoilers yet, but I guess Ichihime and RenjiRuki happened. Am I a little disappointed? Sure I am, but in no way am I gonna say the ending is kitten since I have no idea what else happens. However pairing wise, I did see Ichihime, regardless of my love for IchiRuki, the possibility of it being canon, and Kubo did give them development as well as RenjiRuki. So not much of a complaint. The way I look at it is as long as a ship makes sense I'm okay. That's (what Kubo did (just from assuming).
Plus I don't know if I've ever mentioned it, but I was actually okay with NaruHina when the final chapter cameout cause I thought there wasn't enough moments, but I could see it despite like many of us wanting NaruSaku. Then we got the Last which killed what little respect I had for it. The biggest issue with Naruto's ending was that it felt like a commercial for the next generation rather than the conclusion, and of course SS actually being cemented as canon. None of the Bleach relationships have been on the same level as SS.
That's how I feel at the moment regarding around the topic of pairings, and again that's what I have to see under the assumption of pairings alone, I will wait for the scans to come out. If IchiRuki doesn't happen then so be it. I've said this time and time again the series will end between Ichigo and Rukia in some way platonic or nonplatonic.
Also tbf my standards on pairings have changed alot since the ending of Naruto.

To be fair, all pairings has gotten meh treatment since the War Arc. One is for a reason which I will discuss soon. That's why I didn't ship anyone anymore because that arc sucked. Kubo also pulled a Kishi: no more interaction to make sure people can accept another.

Oh well, if that's true, than it's not that bad, but still why do all the mirroring of IR to Ichigo's parents for nothing?
And Rukia and Renji... yeah, not my cup of tea for sure.

How so? If anything else, Ichigo's mom has more in common with Orihime then Rukia, both look and personality wise.

This is why, after the the last chapter, I'm done taking shipping seriously anymore, especially in shounen.
I knew IchiHime had moments, but the fact that IchiRuki was also popular as well, should be telling on how executed the IchiHime vs. IchiRuki was. The only difference was that Kubo halfheartedly implemented romantic tones whereas Kishi made it a subplot. I won't say IchiHime made no sense, but from what Kubo has given me, and the anime and movies, I viewed IR making much more sense than IH.
I also agree; despite NS making more sense, my only gripe from officially seeing it canon was Sakura herself. Kishi never wrote Sakura out of her feelings for Sasuke for me to 100% see NS as canon. I was mainly at 80% simply because Kishi did write Sakura viewing Naruto in a more romantic light. But later on, with the confession, 5 Kage, 540, 615, I was more confident in an open ending than NS. 693, for me was the official confirmation that and open ending was the only way to go; by then I was at 30% for NS.
This is is the same thing I'm feeling with Bleach, the last arc, any IR moments were pretty much nonexistent, than I seen the IH moments...
Whatever, I'm just a little salty for shipping them for so long. There was a lot of problems in Bleach, but just like Naruto, what kept me going was pairings for the last arc; I always go fanfiction for missing plot.
Im just so done; I realize that in shounen, based on what I've read, the romance can go anywhere. I'm going shoujo for romance; also avoiding any love triangles. For shounen, I'll become any other neutral.

That's how I felt about NH too. Y'see, I was a NH fan at first, but after 615, that although I had hoped for NS, I pretty much accepted it was going to happen. But like you, the movie made me lose respect for it. Especially the fantastic guilt trip down Hinata's mary sue memory lane.

The family that couldn't be.

And that's... what? Never really being thing in manga, really. But mirror save of Rukia by Ichigo and Misaki by Ishin was especially made like that.

I don't see how your argument is any better. Parallels in this manga aren't exactly meaningful either way.

It's like this:
Naruto: what happens if popular pairing wins but kills the logic.
Bleach: what happens if least popular pairing wins but lacks "sparks".
