There's no stable government as such! Every single time one falls and the other rises and this cycle has been going on for centuries. Why don't the Balkan countries adopt the system of nation states? I mean it worked pretty well for the ancient Greek and Roman empires. So what's wrong with you guys? You guys more or less, seem to match the norms for the nation state...

Meh! Its complicated bc there's no coexistence between ours and other ethnic groups or our neighbor countries, bc of to much past, rivalry,hate that's why all the experts you hear talking about the Balkan and its countries say its complicated its a mess  .

You have your issues with the borders but have mutualities as well, right? After all, Balkan is an important territory since it links our world to the Europe; like a bridge! This reminds me of our country's relation with Pakistan It's so kittenin' messed up at the borders Even the situation in the country is pretty tensed since past few weeks. We are running on the verge of communal riots and one of the states already had a state of national emergency declared in it. Good thing it was leased today but the situation in the country is no joke It's pretty....hurtful to watch everything

And actually yes we all are after each other's tooth and flesh lol, bc of all of our history and events that occurred its not just borders its much higher politics and national interest. For example you can't never ever expect for Macedonia to have some "unity" or normal collaboration with Greece, Bulgaria or Albania and vise versa for Serbia with Croatia and Albania and the whole Kosovo thing, to much things has happened to just let it go .

Its good that the situation has been leased but that's the only thing you can hope for, apart from that can you honestly hope for better relations after everything has happened between your countries!? I assume not bc its how every nation is, we do not forget or let what bygones be bygones the obstacles will always be there no matter what, you can only hope for the both sides to maintain some form of normal relationship to prevent the situation to escalate and that usually also involves third or more parties so its a giant mess stuck in a loop .

I see some stark similarities between all the Balkan countries and India. Though it's more of a communal violence here than anything. So many communities residing in one country and each having a different religion, it's a bit difficult! I mean the youth doesn't mind it but there are some air heads in every generation Don't even get me started on Kosovo It's still a disputed territory if I am not wrong?

You are aware of the tensions in our countries? When you come to think of it, again it's more of a country to country thing. India is ready to let go off the past and start afresh since originally, we were a single country. But Pakistan just doesn't agree. The rift between Hindus and Muslims is just too much to be bridged. Again, here it's the problem of 'immature' youth 'cuz I have some of my friends who are Muslims and they are so good by nature! It's just some of the antisocial elements in both the groups. In case of Pakistan I like to believe in the fact that it's their government who is a mess and is manipulating their people for their personal gains. The people of Pakistan don't want all this. We were one some years ago, and that's what they want again.

If you bring in these prospects, the only nations to harbour peace amongst the borders are USA and Canada. It's amazing how both countries get along so well.

Well to put it shortly it goes like this : Wars,Outside Interference,Corruption etc. Those are the main reasons why our region is so much fuked up bc everyone wants a slice of it *sigh* . Yes you're right about that. Oh trust me we have that too here and lots of it, we might be more similar then you think in those departments lol. Well yes its still disputed bc its partly recognized as a state (including from our side   ) .

 

Well a bit I am from what I've seen on the news and what you have told me so far, but I'm not that much familiar with it . Yeah I get what you're saying, but religion can be a nasty thing sometimes and more then often creates wars and disputes like that , there'll always be extreme radicals in this cases that just won't budge. The government can only manipulate so much, but mostly (from what I've seen) people are aware of it they're not fools but they still go with it and allow it, so you can never be sure who's the manipulator from that side.      

 

I suppose so, though I thought its people don't smell each other that well   .
