We had a holiday on the account of the birthday of one of the greatest rulers India ever had So as a way of paying our respects, we always get a day off. It's a government holiday so the colleges remain off

I did...nothing That's the best part. I woke up at 11 AM...bathed at around 2..had my lunch at around 3...slept again at 3:30 and woke up straight at 9 PM Much wanted sleep! These past few weeks have been way too hectic in college so I didn't leave my bed the whole day I spoilt myself real bad And now, I am reading a book

'Government' holiday. Since the ruler is limited to the state, it's a 'State' government holiday. Central government very well has it's jobs on.

Figured out as much, but I'm a bit confused by what you mean by "State" and "Central" . When you say State you're referring to the the Government in your place/local area/city and the Central is the top Government that rules all, the whole country so to speak right!?

I'll explain to you what it really is

India follows a pattern of dual government. One is the State legislature and the other, the Central. The State government or the 'people's' government or the 'Parliament's' government is the one present in every state and all these governments are lead by the respective Chief ministers. Every state has one State government and we are allowed to take part in it's functioning as citizens of the country. All the Chief ministers are directly answerable to Prime minister of our country and his selected representatives. We elect the Prime minister and all that since it's a Parliamentary democracy, as you know it. The functioning of the 'country' and work concerning the authorities 'for' people(city, state, towns etc.) in general is handled over by the State governments.

Now the Central government is an independent authority who is answerable to the President only. Both these governments function independently though in some cases they do work together. But that's selected few. Now the people of our country, have absolutely no hold over this government. We aren't allowed to cast our votes for their elections or we just aren't allowed to participate in general. The members of this legislature are selected by the President. The Central government is absolute! It handles higher order matters like the laws, military, foreign affairs, nation security etc. It is answerable to President and President only. No Prime Minister no Chief Justice, no one but President. It indirectly works for the people

The only thing they have in common is that they don't work outside the Constitutional norms. They are to strictly follow the Constitution of India and it's violation in any case can lead the dissolution of the whole assembly or the government as well!

I see so its a dual government, When you explain it like that its all clear, should have know though bc all the big countries follow this system I just thought its something different  .  I know very little about your politics and how its run so I need to investigate a bit its interesting XD.

Something tells me that you know what dual government is? Like, I know you are a politician and you should be aware of it of course but....your country doesn't follow it, right? So how? Have you been in one before?

The less you know, the better. It's a kittenin' rothole! Not single one is to be trusted and comes off as clean! Either he is corrupt or plain dumb!!! I mean how the heck can you even run a country!! Who appointed you in the first place!!! Do you even have common sense!!! The governing system is a bit complicated but interesting yes but the people... :faceplam: A kittenin' child can outclass certain dimwits Some of them are slick, efficient, decisive, smart, quick thinkers, empathetic, honest etc...basically ideal 'politicians' but some of them... Someone should suspend them and keep them at home for rest of their lives kittenin' natural stand up commedians! They don't even have to say anything funny or heck! Try to be humorous. They are so natural at being dumb that every serious thing that comes out of their mouth is automatically funny! It seems like....being dumb is the only one thing that comes naturally to them and they notch the highest scores in that! They manage to be funny, despite being serious! Sheer talent! Listen to what they say and I bet you even the best commedian won't stand a chance!
