I think Kishi is playing too safe by repeating the story again, which even include what's a ninja. That's obviously reserved for Sasuke to teach her that.

Other than that, these new gen characters so far reserved for the fathers to teach them a lesson or them coming up with a lesson. I don't see much of appeal if I don't get anything coming from themselves. That's like a subplot not a plot, but that's how Kishi rolls. That's why I can't get behind the characters, especially Boruto, who's already a carbon copy.

I know I know. It's pretty much what I said in December the mini-series/spin-off is sort of a reboot of the original story just told differently. They are taking elements that they believed people loved and reusing them, hoping people will continue to support them.

Hoping the nostalgia factor kicks in and takes over logic.

I'm going to be honest with you, when chapter 700 and sequel was announced, people kept saying it's daddy's issues and what not, but I thought it was covered with chapter 700 with Naruto amazing speech and Sarada just put 2 and 2 together and got her answer. That was it. Then, this happened. So yes, I was proven wrong. That said I wish I wasn't.

 

 

I guess that shows that Naruto's TNJ doesn't work on everyone which I find hilarious actually tbh.

This "What is to be a ninja" crap  is so freaking ridiculous  beyond believe  bc for one if anyone should answer this question then that should have been Naruto bc he is the MC and the manga was about his journey not Sasuke's ..............Wait !?, On a second thought scratch all of this it was confirmed that he's only purpose was to bring Sasuke the Real MC and marry the real Heroine Hinakittens fulfill everyone of her wet dreams he has no other role  .

 

Though the second point about this question is that it shouldn't be repeated and dragged on and forced but should have been already answered with the conclusion of the war and the peace theme  or else the whole thing the journey has no purpose at all but dragging the story and mislead the audience..................Wait you know what forget what I said nothing was achieved in the end nothing had any purpose I'm dealing with Kikitten's f**cked up brain and logic in here scratch everything my brain starts to hurt already .

Well, Uchiha are in the wrong series, which gave them a huge honor to be unique, so they worshipped them and nothing can go wrong with them. They question ninja because they don't belong there.

It was a combination of factors that helped ruined the ending. Kishi seems to believe that similar problems and stupid excuses equals good drama but that equals asspulls and massive plot holes

Exactly but Hinata in my opinion helped started the driving force of the Gaiden and the fandoms making money rain for Kishi.

That's the best part. 693-700 put the final nail in the coffin for the series. But this completely ruins the ending that was established as everything just flip flops.

Yes. 693-700 would be Kishi's heel turn where he decided to say "screw with honor and the money is where it is at. I can halfass this story and people will still buy it. Haha suckers."

Looking back on it no. The story was going on too long and Sasuke was getting dull in my opinion. The Sasuke fight should have been done during the war arc and bring him over since we already know he would have been redeemed. Honestly he should have died a long time ago but I digress or at least done the fight differently.

If the final battle took place earlier and this war was avoided then like during the Five Kage Summit then I would've said yes. However since alot of things were happening by the end it should've been Madara to be honest. I know alot of people are like oh Sasuke should live, but that would've been a lesson for Naruto to learn. He can't save everyone and that's what Obito told him when it came to his death how he's going to suffer for some time, and not everything is going to go the way he wants it to. That would've been a huge lesson and push for character development for Naruto, but since we're dealing with Kishi obviously he's not going to go that route with Sasuke.

Honestly, after looking at other series, this was a bad idea. Not only it took forever and they didn't really develop with each other but keep reminding us that Naruto is Yandere, but it felt strange for them to end with a guy who didn't want to kill or rather a personal vendetta. Even though you really don't need them and yes, it relates to the protagonist, there was no strong heat going in there, especially since the world was literally quiet about the whole thing. Tobi was the perfect choice since he is root of everything. If Madara was Tobi, it's all too perfect for the protagonist's final villain. But since he's not, it did downplay the importance of the battle, hence how people especially here were yawning at Madara's rising. Then Kaguya happened and it was just wrong.

That's why going back to Sasuke within the same arc no less felt out of place and again, we hoped for another arc that makes Sasuke a legit threat. But that's all history now.

I totally agree that Naruto needed to learn that lesson that he couldn't save everyone like with Neji but don't start me on that unless you ask. Sasuke should have died and be Naruto's motivation in stopping Obito and Madara.

But yes, I was actually afraid of a draw but Kishi did it. After that, selfishingly, just give me the pairing or good closure for the characters because the story is nonexistent.

Plus like you said the war became like 1/3 of the series and that's what made it become less likable as it kept going. I mean the arc started on Volume 55 and ended on Volume 72 so we're talking about like 17 volumes in total. What Kishi should've done is have the final battle of the war be between Tobi and The Jinchuriki vs Naruto and Killer Bee (in Volume 60) kinda like what happened at the ending of Storm 3 except The mask comes off, we find out Tobi is Obito get the backstory that's necessary then flees until the time is right. That's when we jump into the next arc which would've set up for Naruto vs Sasuke.
