Aw, now you ruined her whole plot   I hope you're happy now.

But honestly, if he can reveal that Sakura will always love Sasuke (in whatever way), he could've technically do the same with Hinata, but now that he doesn't, it could mean that Hinata may feel different, which would have been a huge spoiler to reveal.   
But I personally feel like he just got busted and don't want to say anything anymore

I don't know, but after re-reading the manga from the chapter 1, I can realize the effort and care that  Kishimoto put in Sakura to change her mind with Naruto, the multiple scenes in doubt, multiple parallel, the multiple scenes of interest and mutual care,...

for me manga is the best proof, Hinata appear until Chapter 39 why?, Hinata is not the superstar that everyone says that she is, even the same Kishimoto was angry when voice actor insinuated that Hinata is heroin ... when it is obvious that is Sakura said for Kishimoto words.

I think that we leave NH / SS fandom affect our manga logic perception.
