I wouldn't give Erza the mary sue statues as it's a pretty extreme term. For it would imply that she is flawless, beloved by all and had the most incredible life ever. Wich isn't quite true. But would I consider her a special snowflake? Absolutely. As I think Mashima is giving her the Sasuke treatment, recieving protagonist levels of attention.

She was a dragon slayer. It was explained that if a dragon-slayer used their magic too much. They would eventually turn into a dragon themselves. That's reason the parent dragon were in our dragon-slayers. So they could use their power to prevent them from turning into dragons by making anti Dragon cells or some thing like that. Oh yeah yes, i remember that know , Igneel explain to Natsu why he was inside his body as well as the other dragon slayer all this time, to prevent them from becoming like Acknologia. So yeah Eileen needs to wake up, shes the one that wants to learn the dragon slayer magic even after being warn by the dragon about the risk, but still she do that to protect humanity and humanity betrayed her ... Kinda bit like Pein story, trying to protect the world but the world betray them ....

I know. But that where the Naruto franchise had to go in order to justify him ending up with Hinata. Which just go to show how far out left field they had to reach to get that retcon to please the toxic nH. 
 

Yes. Kayuga is a very common villain in Japanese culture. Inuyahsa for example had her as a filler villains for one of their movies.

At least thing in fairy tail are better explained than in naruto were once obito was found out nothing made sense and nothing still does.

What the heck did I just read? I should be used to it b now, but Mashima has managed to end the flashback to be anti-climatic.Considering the flashback wasn't that interesting in the first place, that's some feat. If there ever was a throwaway father, this would be one.

 

I should feel sorry for the treatment Eileen faced, and the manner in which her character fell from grace, however it was done in such a blasait way, it felt like an afterthought that Mashima just threw together because he was dying to go on his Chrismas holidays or something.

Erza' s mom pulled a xehanort from birth by sleep with wendey cause that's basically what she did. Basically xenhanort took terra' s body at the end of his story and Erza mom did the same. Wonder what Carla reaction to this is and will erza save wendey.

Yeah I know, but still, not everyone read that chapter. And though it is laughable and can be argued to be a prime example of poor writing, it would be courteous to not spoil it for others. Just saying

Pretty sure not many people would make the xenhanort connection unless you've played birth by sleep.though some people are saying it's taking from Dragon ball super with goku black but I say it's more birth by sleep than Dragon ball super.
