I can't really defend everything Sanji has ever done, but you have to take into consideration that a lot of what he does is just played up for laughs. Like I think saying he molested Nami is going a little too far, because from the tone those scenes were obviously made not to be serious. I don't remember anything too terrible happening in Punk Hazard anyway, but I may be remembering it wrong since it's been a while since I've read it.
 
Are some of his actions inexcusable? Absolutely. However, I don't believe it's fair to say that he doesn't acknowledge that Nami and Robin are strong in their own rights, just because he's protective of them. Also, I personally disagree that his past doesn't matter here. I won't say his past can be used as an excuse for him, but it's important to understand how Sanji has progressed to where he is now and from there he can gain some essential development that could change him into something better.
 
And Lastly, to say that Sanji and Nami don't have a strong friendship is kind of ridiculous. He's crew mates with her, so of course they have a strong friendship. It's all up to Oda if he wants to make it into something more. I'm totally fine with it if he doesn't and I acknowledge that there is a pretty good chance he won't.
 
So, I may be a little bias towards Sanji but I don't think he's bad as you make him out to be. Still, with that said, I'm betting he will make some kind of a change in the future, but who knows anything could happen.

No, it's not. He was fondeling her breasts, without her permission. I know it was meant to be funny but it doesn't change what he did.

Protective? He acts like they're weak. He flipped out when Nami fell down on Fishman island. When she fell. It was funny, but extremely insulting to her. You're also assuming that his past is more than it might be. The way he thinks of women might have nothing to do with how he grew up, and it doesn't matter if it did. He's wrong about them, specifically Nami and Robin.

I didn't say that they aren't friends, I said that it doesn't run deep. Sanji's deepest bond on the crew is with Luffy, just as everyone else. He dotes on Nami but that doesn't mean they're especially good friends. His friendship with her pales in comparison with his to Luffy, Luffy's friendship with Nami, Luffy's friendship with Zoro, Usopp's with Chopper etc.

Oda's moving things in random directions again, it's getting too crowded again. What are we supposed to focus on, the happenings with Luffy or the actions at Dragons base. too much stuff, then we have the stuff with Buggy.
