How can he? When he saw the one he loves confessing to another?

Maybe because she didn't confess? I'm not sure why people don't understand that 693 wasn't a negative for NS.
-Sakura gets angry.
-Sakura says she loves Sasuke (using the same word Kakashi used for Team 7).
-Sasuke views it as romantic hence his response of "I have no reason to like her...".
-Kakashi corrects him saying "Sakura's not trying or wanting to make you hers! She only wants to save you!".
-Sasuke understands and thinks of his brother and parents.
-Hagoromo gives a speech about family love.
Kishi even has Naruto bring up the POAL. The whole point of the chapter was to kill SS and set up for NS.

Even if Sakura was confessing romantic love, it shouldn't stop Naruto from confessing.

Please people, stop comparing Sakura's daisuki with Kakashi's daisuki. It's annoying. Saying it wasn't a romantic love is being ridiculous and desperately trying to erase Sakura's feelings for Sasuke because it could be a threat (I personnaly don't think so, I just think that it damages NS beauty). 

Seriously, those who are comparing Kakashi and Sakura daisuki are as ridiculous as NH/SS fans who are also usually twisting japanese language to fit their convenience, even though several japanese speakers gave their opinion on the matte, saying that it was romantic, people keep on taking what is good for them (daisuki being the same word as Kakashi and that word being usable platonically) and reject the rest that is the more important, that's to say, the context. You can't take just one part of you japanese speaker friend and erase what doesn't suit your will. 

 

Anyway, that part of my post wasn't directed at you only, it's just that I'm seriously annoyed about what I just said and one part of your post was about that problem I have. 

 

But for the rest I agree. It wasn't a confession, she was just saying that even though she loves him so much, she can't do anything to help in saving him. Also, yes it was more negaive for SS than NS, Sasuke clearly stated that he doesn't love her and never will, he himself said he has no reason to and neither does she have a reason to love him (Sasuke said the truth of God for once!) Very good post dear!

I had exactly this same pov when I first read the viz translation... but looking at the big picture we have:

-Chapter 540

-During the war, specifically against Madara and Kaguya, Sakura fangirling over Sasuke with her "notice me sasuke-kun"

-That color page of chapter 686, It's Kishi who drew it, right?

-Kakashi used the "ai suru/ai kittene"...

So for me it's a romantic love, but I guess she will move on, and start thinking about Naruto. Probably like that Jiraya's book. When Tsuyu realized her feelings for Naruto.

Sakura doesn't have to move on...she has to realise that she has moved on GOD! Why does Kishi complicate easy matters!

I think Sakura still loves Sasuke romantically, but just isn't interested in pursuing a relationship with him anymore. Also, in that same chapter, Sasuke casts a genjutsu to try to erase those feelings from her anyway. Even if she still does, it's not the end of the world for us. Just wait for Naruto's confession, because Naruto has been holding in his feelings for Sakura for a very long time and it's bound to happen.

The first few lines of your post...I find it a bit..weird. I am sorry but I just do. Nevertheless, its just my opinion. On the latter half of your post though....I dunno whether its true or not but I do remembering someone say that Kishi said he had put a good amount.of romance in the movie..

It's not weird at all. It happens in many romance stories. Sakura will simply choose the guy who's always been there with her throughout this whole story. What, you think she actually has a chance with Sasuke? Hinata has a chance with Naruto?

What makes you think I said Sakura has a chance with Sasuke or Hinata with Naruto? I think I better brief up and elaborate my points more easily to avoid getting misunderstood

Kishi said he wanted to end the story conclusively, so I find your idea hard to believe. It might be a rushed ending but it will cover all that he intended to cover. "The Last" is what you would call an extra story. It's part of the canon, but it's not necessary in order to understand the full story of Naruto.

 

I believe we'll have an epilogue in the last chapter that shows Naruto as Hokage, and "The Last" will simply cover a time period that happened after the war, but before that epilogue.

 

But I do agree with what you said about Sakura still seeing Sasuke in a romantic way. I have the feeling we'll be seeing the Gutsy Ninja plot twist when it comes to her.

 

Do you see Kakashi talking about Sakura's love for Sasuke as romantic desire? Isn't it contradictory with 675 and him saying that Sakura isn't trying to make Sasuke his, and with Sasuke himself then thinking about his love for his family?

with Kishi and girls emotions he tries to make their hearts very changeable. If you truly love someone you only love that person, and no one else and it doesn't change your love only grows stronger. They way he portrays women is ridiculous in my eyes, she should love Naruto only.

Now that I think about it, Sakura probably thinks she loves Sasuke but really doesn't. She's grown so fond of Naruto that I don't think she can truly love someone like Sasuke.

 

Ino grew fond of Sai really easily..

 

Tsunade eventually loved both Jiraiya and Dan romantically.

 

I think Kishi believes in loving multiple people at the same time, but I don't really think Sakura can truly love someone like Sasuke like Tsunade can love both Jiraiya and Dan (two good people).

yeah she is young, and that's how some teenage girls is so in way it is kind of realistic, I guess we kind of forget at times that she's still just 16. She might be confused and that's normal at her age I guess. A man is different, he just knows and is firm. I been in love with the girl I love since I was 15. So it's different. By the time she reaches 18 she'll know who she truly loves.

I still say that if Sakura still loves Sasuke romantically it's because she felt she had to hang on to those feelings in order to not give up on him and try to save him. Personally I do think Kishi tried to make it look like she loved both boys on the same level just to keep the drama going, but at the end show us it was Naruto she loved on a whole other level. But like everybody else here, it's just a personal theory.

The only reason why you see Sakura thinking about Sasuke so much is because he's so deep in the darkness that she "cares about him more than she can bear". When Sasuke didn't give a kitten about her in 676 that just meant he's not even close to being redeemed (it's not like he will ever fall in love with her if at this point he can't even bring himself to care about her as a human being). It's the same thing in 678 when he was being rude to her and in 680 when he was willing to let her fall into lava. Then a few chapters later we see Sakura wanting to save Sasuke only to not waste the chance that Naruto gave her and Obito.

 

I think she has already moved on since Kakashi even said that she's not trying or wanting to be with Sasuke.

That's a good theory, that she's clinging to those feelings to try and save him.

That wasn't a confession, there was no confessing involved aside from Sakura openly admitting how worthless her goal of helping out Team 7 was.
