Hey, I can ship her with Luffy too just fine. In fact, I would be happy with it.

 

But, I don't really see how Sanji is disrespectful towards Nami. Sure, you can bring up Punk Hazard but I think any straight man would have reacted in a similar way, especially if they went through those 2 years of hell too.

 

Besides, I'm sure there is a good reason why he acts the way he does around women. It likely has something to do with his past, which is probably going to be pretty dark knowing One Piece.

 

Sanji's not perfect, but cut him some slack. I'm sure he'll get better.

I cut him a lot of slack, he's one of my favorites. Gained a kitten ton of respect for him when he was ready to die vs Kuma.

He is consistently disrespectful to both Nami and Robin. He treats them like wallflowers, it's always about protecting them, like they can't handle themselves. Nami and Robin aren't in the crew for nothing, they're both strong, something which he either doesn't realize it he refuses to acknowledge because of some views of women he might have.

There was this whole stink about Zoro being sexist, which is incredibly false. The one that's sexist is Sanji, and there's no argument about it. It doesn't matter what his past is, it really doesn't matter. He treats them wrong and there isn't much of an argument.

Not many normal men would have acted the way he did, even after his experience. He had been back from that for about a week, and had been to Fishman island and survived his little nosebleed thing. There was a point where he basically molested Nami's body. They aren't a good match.

I like Sanji, but I'm not afraid to point out his flaws, and I'm damn sure not afraid to say that him and Nami, or Robin for that matter, aren't a good match for each other, because they're not. Plus, their friendship isn't even strong enough to even consider moving past friends.

So the chapter is likely to come out tomorrow, as the spoilers have already been released. Luffy and company make it to Zou, they see the sunny tied to Zou's leg (lol). Apparently Dragon makes an appearance, and so does Blackbeards crew and the Buggy Pirates

She straight up kicked him in the face and he just was on the ground like "I can feel that you're not a bad person." She looked in his head and saw nasty and perverted things, but... she also was talking to the nicest and most honest guy she had seen in a while. Hence why she believed him and decided to join his side with aiding Luffy. It's pretty easy to tell that Sanji would go above and beyond to make sure a girl felt very special with him. Sure he would want her body, but what guy doesn't want his girlfriend in that type of way?

Nothing you said changes the fact that:

1) he doesn't respect their strength
2) he doesn't see them beyond a pair of kittens most of the time
3) he is incredibly disrespectful in the way he acts towards them, as I said he basically molested Nami's body on punk hazard. It got so bad at one point he was sniffing random girls.

It doesn't matter whether he says it out loud or not, his viewpoint is wrong period. Just because you don't say something out loud doesn't mean you aren't wrong. Him and Nami don't go together. Their friendship is nothing more than cordial at best.

I can't really defend everything Sanji has ever done, but you have to take into consideration that a lot of what he does is just played up for laughs. Like I think saying he molested Nami is going a little too far, because from the tone those scenes were obviously made not to be serious. I don't remember anything too terrible happening in Punk Hazard anyway, but I may be remembering it wrong since it's been a while since I've read it.

 

Are some of his actions inexcusable? Absolutely. However, I don't believe it's fair to say that he doesn't acknowledge that Nami and Robin are strong in their own rights, just because he's protective of them. Also, I personally disagree that his past doesn't matter here. I won't say his past can be used as an excuse for him, but it's important to understand how Sanji has progressed to where he is now and from there he can gain some essential development that could change him into something better.

 

And Lastly, to say that Sanji and Nami don't have a strong friendship is kind of ridiculous. He's crew mates with her, so of course they have a strong friendship. It's all up to Oda if he wants to make it into something more. I'm totally fine with it if he doesn't and I acknowledge that there is a pretty good chance he won't.

 

So, I may be a little bias towards Sanji but I don't think he's bad as you make him out to be. Still, with that said, I'm betting he will make some kind of a change in the future, but who knows anything could happen.
