Similar but more closer (but nowhere near as bad) to Hinata I'd say with the addition of the twin brother, Kaguya, Descendants living on the moon, and her somehow superior Byakugan.Uchiha's history was always hinted towards, pretty much the entire Hyuuga history was a arsepull just t make one character look good, and failed spectacularly.

I disagree. I'd say this is just as bad, if not worse than the Kaguya retcon. Over the course of 513 chapters, and yet not once were there absolutely any hints that connected Erza to the dragon slayers. Gray, on the other hand, at least had been hinted as far back as tower of heaven.

I think Kaguya is still worse because of irrelevance. That alone damaged a lot. Erza is more of Uchiha is stronger than Senju because of their love is the most powerful one of them all, completely made Itachi an idiot.

Erza has absolute irrelevance in regard to the dragon slayers. Her character would've been fine on its own by being the guild's leader after Makarov (hopefully) passed away for good.

That's not what I meant. Erza is a main character. Kaguya is completely new and out of nowhere. The only part that is "new" is Erza's mother, Irene. Kaguya literally changed all the rules and the major villain. That is WTF of the manga decade.

Well Kaguya was irrelevant, period. She was just added in because Apparantly Madara was "too cool" to get offed by the main characters so no I don't think it is worse than Naruto's kitten.

 

Look at it like this. Erza is a relevant character, REGARDLESS of this back story. Sure, it doesn't excuse the a-pulls regarding to her nor justify them, plus I can see she is not well liked in some circles, but at least this doesn't change Erza much. So far at least. If she GOT dragon slayer powers all of a sudden, that would be idiotic. as long as there is nothing dragonic about her or ever will be, it's not that bad truth be told.

It like the X-Men movie series were wolverine is the main focus in pretty much every movie and mangeto in the newer movies but here's the thing wolverine and mangeto are awesome characters and layers of depth especially mangeto.

The editor's note didn't said anything about a break so I'm guessing the next chapter will be next week which means 516 will be the last chapter of the year.
