Tekken 6:

Played both versions at school and so far:

HOLY S***! New moves for the regular characters and new slick and badass characters from Bob to Zafina... crazy and stunning stages (and yes you can hit the animals!! tongue.gif ) Playing Versus mode... people who love fighting games, love the series, or just want to play a game that is good... GET. THIS. TITLE! Worth your money.

Sound: while most characters have recycled voices, some like Law have new ones (however... when talking... I heard new voices... for Paul and Julia); soundtrack is very impressive. My favorites are the Jungle and the Casino themes.

However... PS3 version has better control response. 360 version (which I'm gonna be stuck with in the end) does not, in terms of directional buttons.

So my score is:

Xbox 360: 8/10; PS3: 10/10 (reason for the 2 lower points for 360 than PS3 is because of the controls).

Tekken 6 (PS3): 4/10
This is one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history, as a huge fan of the Tekken series I am shocked at how very little fun I had with this. Arcade mode is fine, it's not ground breaking in the last bit (they stole the "ranking" thing from Virtua Fighter) but the Scenario Campaign mode is a huge piece of ****. What the hell was Namco thinking putting a beat-em up mode in this game? Not to mention the fact you can only play arcade mode with cinematics in Scenario Campaign and in order to play with every character you have to unlock all of them by fighting and beating them in the stupid and not fun beat-em up stages! Oh and don't even get me started on the fact that most of the achievements/trophies are attached to Scenario Campaign mode. Tekken 6 is not only the most disappointing game of the year it's gonna be on my 10 worst games list this year.

on a scale of 1-10, I give Thrill Ville Off The Rails a 9/10. The only downside is the robots. There should be better sounds for these robots.

Borderlands - 9/10
It is a fun game, and I love playing it both alone and with friends, even if Gamespy is evil and stupid. The only reason it's a 9 out of 10 is because

Halo:ODST 10/10

But thats me i'm a halo fan boy (Though kitten master chief). The game play especially on legendary is much harder then the previous halo games (this time you can't just charge into the enemies thank god) and overall had me playing for a longer amount of time then any previous halo game.(the first playthrough) Also the multiplayer maps are awesome i'm so glad i didn't drop my cash on them in market place

Boarderlands 8/10 Great game, I'm really hooked on it right now, still working on beating it.
Driving, blowing up turrets with a rocket launcher, the 4 different characters and their special moves, grenade mods, being able to find quest items with the map, and fast travel.

Split screen makes it super hard to see anything, annoying robots, ridiculously hard looting system!

Dragon Age: Origins 9/10. One of the many things I love about BioWare is that they have great writers, not just for plot but also for their characters, apart from the multitudes of various outcomes in the plot comes numerous subplots about members of your team that you actually care to do. They all feel like breathing living characters. I'm not that great in terms of gamer lingo, so don't just take my word for it. My roommate who games a lot says that this game is the best Lord of the Rings game that isn't a Lord of the Rings game. You feel like you're partaking in some Middle Earth action here. Completely immersed in all the bloody action and passionate people. Great Game! I cannot recommend it enough. a_thumbs.gif the only reason why it's not perfect is because the graphics aren't always that great.

Left 4 Dead 2 (XBox 360): 6/10
A disappointing and sometimes frustrating sequel to one of my favorite games of last year. There isn't enough content here to merit another $60 so thank god I only rented it for a few days, this should've just been DLC of the First game like originally intended. The inclusion of melee weapon's and a few new zombies is nice but that's about all I can say good about this game, it's not one of the worst of the year but it won't be in my Top 10 either.

Mass Effect 7/10 Apart from the fact that most shooters of any kind give my weak stomach a case of the shuffles, this just isn't my type of game. I have the opposite problem with this game that I did with the other Bioware game (Dragon Age: Origins/ see above). This time around the graphics are amazing but the story is short, meh, and kind of side-lined compared to the seemingly more engaging side quests. My biggest complaint is that the characters are glanced over. They don't seem to live and breath like other Bioware games, plus there are less possibilities for outcomes in this game so replay goes down a great deal as well. In this game you have but a few lines of dialogue before you get recycled responses from your teammates. They're stories are also less complex than in other Bioware games. The Universe of Mass Effect is huge and I truly appreciate the time they spent in researching for creation, again I also really appreciate the smooth easy on the eyes graphics, but something pretty with not much going on doesn't equate to much for me. I really was going to give them a lower score based on their past great entries, but compared to other games its still decent enough. The sequel comes out soon. I was debating whether to buy or simply rent it... playing through this has me leaning towards renting and not owning.

PS3 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves-10/10
Absolutly mind blowing sometimes I had to move the joystick to make sure I wasn't in a cutscene. No wonder why this game got the Game of the Year Award.

PS3 God of War Collection-10/10
I never played it on PS2 so I bought the collection on PS3, Both of these games are truly bad ass and I can't wait for the 3rd to come out.

Xbox 360 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2-10/10
I'm a fan of shooter and this is absolutely mind blowing graphics and gameplay. I never thought they could of surpassed the first by this far.

Xbox 360 Halo 3: ODST-8.5/10
I felt like this game was more of a let down to my expectations. The fact that you spend the entire game campaign in one city gathering intel and finding certain objects that takes you through flashbacks. Which is pretty much all the game is about "Flashbacks".

A good game if not quite frustrating.

Prototype (PC) 7/10

Don't get me wrong, it have nice graphic and action but the control is pissing me off because of 1 thing: Mouse as action control? Fail

Brutal Legend (XBox 360): 9/10
This is one of the most pure fun games I've played in a while, sure it's mostly a hack-and-slash game with some sometimes frustrating RTS elements but what really saves it is the humor and the music. Jack Black, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemy from Motorhead and of course David Bowie all are memorable in this game and they are all quite funny. I've loved most of Tim Scaffer's games and this is another near-masterpiece by him and the guys at Double Fine.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS): 10/10
This is the best portable GTA no freaking contest.

Halo 3 ODST (XBox 360): 7/10 (4/10 for the ODST Single Player, 6/10 for Hoarde....I mean Firefight and 10/10 for the Halo 3 Maps)
ODST is a disappointment, the single player campaign is short and sometimes frustrating and Firefight mode is meh. Thank god for the Halo 3 Maps otherwise I'd be sending this game back to GameStop.

Rock Band 2 (Playstation 3): 10/10
Despite some questionable song choices this is definitely the most fun I've had playing a rythm game not even Guitar Hero can compete.

The Beatles Rock Band (Playstation 3): 10/10
My all-time favorite band finally gets some love in the video game world and even though some songs are missing the songs they chose are great.

I have nothing to say. The gameplay was so improved upon, that it must be ranked super high on my list. Just beat it a few minutes ago, and the ending left me wanting for more. So, AC3 is another long wait for me. =/

Tekken 6-PS3 8/10

After waiting 4 years since the release of Tekken 5 in the states, I was excited to finally play the next installment in the Tekken series. However the game is ultimately a disappointment. It looks good, not mindblowing, but a pretty good improvement over 5. Gameplay is mostly unchanged, but still pretty solid.

Now, I'll talk about what I didn't like. 2 words. Scenario Campaign. Damn it to hell, wtf was that Namco?! You're pretty much forced to play through it if you want to unlock the endings and trophies/achievements. First of all, I don't care for Lars or Alisa. Second, at times, I forgot I was playing a "fighting game". I thought I was playing a cheap streets of rage ripoff. If it was on the side like Tekken Force or Devil within, I would've been fine with that. But having it as the Main singleplayer is pointless and stupid. When they get around to Tekken 7, kill this thing off. It'd be better that way.

The Online Multiplayer was laggy when I last played it, they probably fixed that by now but I hardly play it anymore. The Arcade & Ghost Modes are decent, but nothing special. The game is still fun to play with friends, which is good since I otherwise would've sold this already. Custom soundtracks are a plus since there aren't many PS3 games that use it. Lastly, the load times are terrible. The Install takes care of that, but there are number of games that don't need one.

Bayonetta (XBox 360): 6/10
I don't get why people are raving about this game so much, sure its by the same guys who did the Devil May Cry games but those games are MUCH better by comparison even 4 (but not 2). It's unique I'll give it that and it has some nice humor but the combat is way too repetitive and button mash happy not to mention the static cinematics are lame. There are some nice boss battles here and the character of Bayonetta is unlike any heroine I've seen in a game before but I've played much better games from 2009.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtles In Time Re-Shelled (XBox Live Arcade): 8/10
Now for a game that I don't get why everyone hates, this is a fun remake of the classic Arcade beatemup from 1994 starring the Ninja Turtles. Granted the remixed music kinda sucks and the exclusion of levels in the game is head scratching but this is a fun game especially when you play with 3 other people online.
