Well, I saw Digimon 01 in japanese with subs and I didn't see any hint of Sorato. I'm sure Sora shared even more with Joe than Yamato at the time lol. I always thought this pairing was so popular mainly due their looks together.

It's most likely the dialogues manipulation of the dub that made it seem legit. Think as Pokemon. Yes, they did it too. I do think that people in Japan probably like the concept and I guess how they look together, but if the development wasn't on their side, then I guess I can't be upset. I don't remember but I have heard that they made Tai seem uneasy about Matt taking interest or something. I forgot. I also see something like that in wiki. Don't worry, it's not bs as Naruto, so it's safe to say it's legit.

I dunno... I've never seen any moment where Tai got uneasy about Matt "taking interest" in Sora in season 1, only in 02. I think those Sorato sub-watchers are exaggerating.
I don't like Sora with anyone...lol I multiship Mimi because why not? Sora was just there to me even though I liked her and Kari, I multishipped her with TK, Davis and Ken
Well Sora's not the most interesting character but that doesn't mean she doesn't have any chemistry with others lol. I only like her with Tai. I like Mimi with both Joe and Matt. xD Mimi x Izzy is kinda popular though I don't really know why...but I think it's cute.

I thought I was the only one! xD I felt guilty for not shipping Ken with Yolei but I just didn't like that part in 02 where Ken was having a nervous breakdown and Yolei just watched while it was Kari who tried to help him. Yay, we can also have delicious Ken/Kari/TK/Davis triangles! I'm so lame but can't deny my shoujo feelings.

It was season 2. But it didn't happen in Japanese version. Dub can really change up the story or rather the connection. A bit off but I still remember DBZ Dub still its own way to make it more comedy for whatever reason.
Oh you're talking about season TWO. That's where the whole dumb Tai/Sora/Matt thing started. Most girls like love triangles but this one sucked.

Yeah. Though the movie one, that was odd because it was in Japanese as well. But I heard it was an act of revenge. Sadly, that movie made us confused thinking hope for those two to get together. Whoops.

She even had an episode working along with Joe when they were fighting those ghosts xD Some Sorato fans use her breakdown scene (the one where she's trapped in darkness or something like that near the first season end) as a proof of their shipping because Yamato was there, BUT they tend to ignore the fact that Joe was there as well xD

Yeah, you are right, but Mimi was younger, naive and kinda spoiled. I guess they liked Sora better for him 'cause she was more mature and relevant? Besides, since Yamato is a loner, perhaps Sorato fans wanted a girl who could "fix him", you know how it works for shippers xD
As for me, well, I like Taiora and Takari the best. I saw 1-4 seasons and my favorite one is still the first season <3

I like Mimi but she really annoyed me in that episode where she locked Tai & Joe in jail and pretended to be unable to sing in order to manipulate those frog Digimon into treating her like a princess. I thought Sora had more integrity than her.
