Wouldn't you prefer the info be relayed through Naruto's mouth? I'd love to see him relate his feelings for Sakura to the feelings Obito had for Rin. It would also completely close the door on NH and I want a reaction from Sakura too. This would likely push her to the front and have her make a move. ..

Oh of course I would, I even have this "I have a girl I love named Sakura..." thing in my mind when Naruto would speak about the love part to Obito. I was just thinking about what else could be brought if it's not brought in the ObiNaru convo...

What if it does parallel NH instead?

 

I would be genuinely confused, because how could Naruto be more devastated in losing someone he hardly ever talked to compared to someone he's gone through so much with, spent so much time with, and has shown he has feelings for even up till now? What regrets would he have about Hinata even if she did die? That he hadn't confessed even though there was nothing holding him back? It just doesn't make sense. What does make sense, however, is him being able to place himself in Obito's shoes because he knows that, like him, he would be filled with a lot of regret (something he might not act on like Obito has, but something that's still pretty much there) if Sakura died. Do you get what I mean or?

Well, this usually happens when the "moment of truth" arrives. It happens to me with anything. Like I'll be saying, "I can't wait for that game" and then when the time is really near, I'll be like "oh god it's almost here". For Naruto, well this is it. I mean this is like a campaign, where Hinata just pull off many stunts to make it look legit for people to vote for her while Sakura just let the past experiences make you decide her.

I understand. It's just that, with Sai's flashback with Naruto saying "how can I tell her how I feel when I can't keep my promises", that would be an excellent way to parallel ObiRin if Kishi wanted to, since Obito only confessed to Rin before he "died" if I remember correctly, and Naruto wouldn't have confessed at all just because he made the decision not to. So if Sakura died, he would probably be placed in the same state as Obito because of this (and this is one way that Naruto can make Obito see that he truly does understand how he feels, because he'd regret not telling her before her death among other things, like how is it that he came to like her in the first place.). It would be his fault for letting his doubts get to him, and that will most likely haunt him like it does Obito.

I would be genuinly confused, because the pattern Kishi built for years would be broken. And I thought only team 7 had parallels? The rookies may have weak ones like pre Ino-Shika-Cho and the current ones, and maybe even Guy and Lee, but nothing big with plot relevance. Hinata never had a piece in this particurlar game, she would mess up the puzzle. You can't squeeze her in now for the single purpose of developing NH, the romance plot and the setup would oppose eachother.

 

I would also lose a lot of respect for Naruto's character, let's say he was in fact joking in 631.

I honestly think that with the Rin parallel, we would just get more of what we already have.

I was going through old debate threads pre chapter 631 (in other sites) and a nh fan said once minato confirm whoever is like kushina the pairing war would end once and for all.

Me too, I literally laughed my ass off, thinking it was all over. But no.  And it won't be over even when it's over, because when the endgame is decided the new 'war' would be if it's good or crappy writing.

Yeah more pairing war on the plus side it divided on what the NH should use to support their ship. Well if Naruto does 100% says he loves Sakura anyone against NS will look stupid for saying Naruto was joking at 631.

Yes, of this aspect. I think it'll affect the other fanbase more than us, at least me. I already think it's pretty obvious Naruto loves Sakura, she is like Rin, they'll be canon soon etc..but they don't.

Wait, I'm curious, could you elaborate on this? So you liked NH/SS better before? Why was that and why did you decided to change your mind afterwards? At what point during the story did you start prefering the idea of NS?

Haha, well so much for that. I think a pairing war like this will go on long after the series is over, unfortunately. I've still come across Zutara fans arguing and twisting things in favor of that pairing, even though that pairing war was decided long ago, and the Kataang/Zutara thing was never as big as this is (I don't think).

Obi/Rin will be confirmed i guess but cant let to point the fact that NS wont get development by Naruto stating the obvious i mean we still have to know where Sakura's feelings are, the ones who are now hidden on a cloud, the good is that with the war ending soon, Team 7/SAsuke will come back and then Sakura will get out of the background to a more active role.

And "Naruto's friends" will come back to fodder status :) and this include Hinata which was pretty obvious on 631 that she has nothing to do with Sasuke.

I can't think of any other term other than "plot convenience" because that's the only way to explain something so out of the blue.  It also contradicts chapter 631 with Minato comparing Sakura to Kushina, which establishes her for the "find a girl like me" parallel.  Also, it confuses everyone as Rin didn't love Obito, but Kakashi, as Sakura loved Sasuke in the beginning.  Hinata loved Naruto or had a crush on him from the beginning.  She doesn't fit Rin at all, so the parallel doesn't even make sense if she's compared.  As I said, it would be an example of plot convenience.

 

Funny is that those things never close the door, i mean Sasuke tried to kill sakura three times, treated her badly and even rejected her and still people think it has more chances than NS.

 

"too late for her to drop her feelings for Sasuke".

"Her feelings for Sasuke are part of her character she wont drop".

 

Yep, those are the two most common arguments you hear.
