Hmmm....I read most of the comments and something...doesn't feel right. A good portion of you find this plot hard to believe. A tree that bears fruit and can create gods if that fruit is eaten? Why Kishi has gone off his rocker. Nay, I say.

I am about to bring up something else that is far worse than that. People know of my relationship with this series as I have mentioned it so many times before on the podcast. One I never said was that there was another reason why I hate this series. I want to bring that up now because I think I have a point to make.

I have to bring this up because so many people have told me how great this series is and how amazingly written it is, but...from all the comments I see here...

I want to ask you this. A tree bearing fruit that when eaten by humans gives them power beyond reality in this world is too much and too out there, but....

THIS?!
c0fw.png

....is acceptable?

Yes, I have seen the ending....(finally)....and I have to say that it made even less sense than this does.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase: "My will be done"

It is acceptable to me, because I am watching the manga for free online. Now if I was paying for it, I might think differently. If the tree of life is what's pissing people of, you guys should know that is not just Christianity and Judaism...is almost every religion, from Norse mythology, to even the Mayans. Kishi just thought it would be informative to make it so.

I don't think so... From the original, it was like she said "My own medical ninjutsu (that I created) was born out of that will too...", she was implying that she created her own medical ninjutsus due to that will. It sounded just that she was talking about her own medical ninjutsu, not the whole system medical ninjutsu... Remember, medical ninjutsu already existed during Hashirama's times...

I thought Hashirama had healing powers, and not healing jutsu that was unique to him. I too thought Tsunade pretty much started medical ninjutsu/training and it branched out from there.

What does any other series have to do with this? This is Naruto, not some mecha anime. What Kishi did this week was completely out of nowhere, doesn't fit the Naruto world at all, and left so many questions as to "why" all of this happened. I don't know if it has ever been done before in jump but I would seriously recommend Kishi redo that entire chapter and have the current 646 be considered a mistake. It is either that or continue writing a crippled story.

Lol, it makes me laugh that you used Gurren Lagann as a comparison. Naruto operates in a different set of rules as Gurren Lagann. It has a sense of a structured world, like ours is governed by laws of physics. Gurren Lagann is all about, as their motto goes, "kick reason and logic to the curb." Stuff happens because the main characters will it to happen and they'll not let anything, even physics and logic stand in their way. In other words, literally anything can happen in the Gurren Lagann universe if you're hot blooded enough.

This is mostly just in response to you using Gurren Lagann. I haven't really read the chapter, and since I'm in school, I won't be able to read it until 3 at the earliest. But, anyway, honestly, this is a world where people can shoot lightning, mass of energy can become sentient, and the moon is a carcass of an ancient demon of destruction. Dunno if a god producing tree is out of the realm of reality in this 'verse

Of what story do you mean?

The only thing new is the idea of the fruit and a new character that was the sage's mother.

But there were a lot of evidence to suggest that the Juubi was a plant and not a beast.

Now to come back to my question. This chapter there was no story just a reveal.

I agree this chapter was way unexpected but don't you agree it could turn out interesting. The other option was for Naruto or Obito to throw at each other some Bijuudama. This way we felt the story was going further. And there could be more than what Madara said.

It's interesting because the stake is high now. Well much higher and since Sasuke's situation will be more on the low profile between Team 7 and Taka, as in the world isn't in danger, just Konoha future due to Sasuke wants Naruto dead. So this one is the highest danger zone you can get.

Well regarding Sasuke he has to assist Naruto if they want to have a chance at defeating Obito. What's odd thou is that Madara and the hokages are the only ones who are somewhat able to fight against Obito and the Juubi. Naruto, Bee Sakura are all out.

Of course next chapter we could see what happened to the kages and Kakashi but I see next chapter as a struggle chapter. Where they either succed in stoping the tsukuyomi or fail. And afterwards next volume will adress the outcome.

Can you elaborate why it doesnt fit in?
For me the tree was okay but it's not horrible only if you think that a guy that came from nowhere and sealed the juubi on himself is acceptable?

We have next to nothing of info about what happened on the past, the only thing that annoyed me on the entire manga were the uchihas the rest was okay but for me what is getting at is that since the begining of part 2 Naruto was hinted that he would save the world and it's kinda obvious that he will do this because he's the sucessor of the sage of six path or perhaps his reincarnation, due to Kurama's words.

The whole story was leading to Naruto being the next sage of the six paths and even parallels and marking that he has, i fail to see why the "tree god life" is bad writing.

It was also hinted that all the problems of the world and the wars were due to the fact that no sucessor were made, since the Uchiha and Senju were battling against each other to be the successor and then due to this problem he decided to make split the juubi into 9 parts.

In the end were the uchihas and their lust for power who screwed the world since that girl ended all the conflicts and was hinted that they lived in peace until the sage of six paths died.

You know, I would actually be cool with that. It would be awesome to see him step in, open all of the gates, and make fire wood out of that tree, since he is essentially the only one that can stop it without having his energy drained. Except opening all of the gates would kill him, and I'm not okay with that. :hm:

I wonder how the other Rookies are doing right now. Surely they couldn't have all managed to dodge the branches... I wonder if any of them actually died. :argh:

It would be awsome, but kind of random. Though probably less far fetched than some things that have happened in this manga.

interesting, at the first i thought that the surname "Ootsutsuki" was correlated to the moon because of the final -tsuki but I wasn't certain about so I needed the raw: Now that the raw is out, I found out that her surname is 大筒木. If I'd translat it literally, it should be "Big wood pipe". 木 (ki) means tree/wood... Coincidence? Maybe..

Hagoromo is written with katakana, so it hasn't a clear meaning in kanji but most probably it derives from Here (read the plot)

I think that many people here don't like this reveal is because of the following: 1) they expected the Juubi as an actual monster based on animals like the 9 Bijus, although, it wouldn't work since the previous chapters revealed it as plant-based.

2) The mythological history that was referenced from other religions/mythology. Uh... all other media had their share. I don't see the reason why Naruto doesn't need it, despite the fact mostly all of it were used for the Uchihas since day one.

I don't know why many of you hate this reveal. Would you rather prefer this: if the background was the Sage of Six Path suddenly came to their world via descending from the heavens and preaching ala Jesus on shinobi/chakra/etc.? <---- That idea will be a HELL NO comment from me, because that will be very silly and out of place.

I think Naruto, Sakura, and Bee will turn out ok in the next chapter if not the beginning of the next volume. I think this is one way for them to get interaction from others soon. Sasuke should go after Madara since he is about to make his move before Obito does his. Plus it's better for Sasuke to go after Madara knowing that they are similar. That's just me. On the brightside, Minato is going to live on until Naruto's birthday. Nice, at least I hope so. That and get to know more on Sakura when everything is over. Hey, he needs to know her for final seal of approval. Don't all parents do? :P

This. Is. Just. Retarded.

Kishi basically took a bastardized version of a bible fable and turned it in his manga. Really. REALLY?! IS THIS REAL LIFE??

Also, I thought for like, 2 seconds that the SO6P might turn out to be female Might. MAYBE. BUT NO, JUST A BABY INCUBATOR.

Also let's fodderize Sakura even more. Because there hasn't been arcs of that kitten already. I literally don't even care about the infinate tsukuomi because i am SO BEYOND SICK of this crap.

I've always found it odd that the components appear to have a much greater capacity for reason while the combined entity seems totally mindless and based almost entirely on instinct. Maybe it doesn't stay that way, but that is how it's been so far.

Laying out what you think is an inferior story does not mean this one doesn't suck. It's saying we should accept medicority simply because "it could be worse." James's argument involving the mecha (don't know the series) is the same. Even assuming that what the author did there is "unacceptable" doesn't make this better.

I don't care that mythology was used. I care that it was used poorly.

As I said before, I have never sat here wondering how Shinobi came to bee. We knew the Sage was the father of all Shinobi, but I don't think it was at all important as to how he became one. So, Kishimoto spent a chapter answering a question that didn't really call for one. Compounding this is the fact that the creation of "Shinobi" is really a big nothing. They overarching problems that people are having now (like Obito and Madara) are in no way dependent upon them. From the story, it sounds like they had the same problems before, only this gave them a new toy and created a new "villain" in the Juubi. But the broader concepts...how is any of that dependont upon Shinobi? It's not. So, who cares?

So, we get this back story that lack detail and tells us nothing we need to know and it's downright dumb to boot. Of course, we get an explanation as to why Madara fled, but it so generic and boring. Kishimoto also has this really long standing habit of over simplyfying complext issues and putting his thumb on the scales when it comes to moral delimmas and philosphical questions. Effectively introducing that into Madara now doesn't inspire great confidence. It's been a total bust for Obito, but at least his reasons had the potential for people identify with. Madara. Blah.

With the power of the fruit the woman managed to solve all the conflicts on the world after she ate the fruit the humanity lived in peace, but the problem is that the juubi wanted to have his chakra back because it didnt cared about the human's warfare ways, because of the uchiha/senju the sage of the six paths could not have a sucessor then he made the 9 bijuus in the hope for someome like Naruto become the next sage of the six paths thus leading to a new era of peace like that woman had.

BUt i do agree that he made Madara look more stupid, he didnt need to put everyone in a genjutsu on the first place, becoming the sage of the six paths already would solve all the conflicts since his authority would be unquestionable.

So...she had the power and peace was brought to the world....how did she do that and how would Madara becoming automatially solve that problem? When I accuse Kishimoto of being too simplistic this is the kind of stuff I mean.

And how does that cycle not endless repeat itself?
