I agree about the people who said that this chapter was too rushed and inconsistent.

But what I find really funny are the people saying they'll drop this manga all serious like as if they buy every weekly shonen jump/tankobon volume and not read it off a free manga scanlation site.

On another note, I don't think Sasuke's completely "good" yet. All he's doing now is not wasting his brother's sacrifice and deciding not to destroy the village. That doesn't mean he's, however, going to go back or that this new path of his is something that is necessarily "good".Who knows...he'll probably still end up fighting Naruto over something. Maybe to be Hokage. I'm not completely sure. But why assume that he's back to the old old Sasuke and everything will be fine once they deal with Madara?

Yeah, I think there's really only two viable options here and this is one of them. This is missing the signs of being a true heel face turn: 1) The one we've all noticed, which is that Naruto didn't even factor into it. Every time a bad guy has turned good in this series, Naruto has been at least a partial cause. If this was Sasuke's moment of revelation, he'd have thought about his Village comrades, particularly that one guy who's been chasing after him for nearly an entire series. 2) You know how when a character is dying and there isn't a big flashback sequence or a big "I understand the meaning of my life" moment, we know they're not really going to die? Same here. Sasuke had a page that was filled with all of the Itachi moments. That was it. Sasuke has been bad for how many years now? And you guys really don't think Kishi's going to milk it for all it is worth?

Option number 1) See the above quote. This is the most likely option. Maybe he'll decide to take over the Village because it is as much the Uchiha's legacy as the Senju's? Maybe he'll get Madara out of the way and set about destroying it himself (just because he doesn't want to see Konoha wiped off the map by Madara doesn't mean he won't do it himself). Who knows. But there's definitely more to this.
Option number 2) What I said in my last post and what several people have commented on. Sasuke isn't an idiot. Why waste his energy fighting the first Hokage (and probably losing) when he can just trick him into running into the battlefield with them?

Honestly, we're not going to get any real answers for a while, probably not a couple months. My advice is to buckle down and wait.
Oh and people freaking out about Narusaku: ??? We knew Sasuke was going to be redeemed. Why should it matter if it is now or later? To me it is not about Sasuke not being available and being bad. Him coming back isn't going to change the fact that Sasuke left and Naruto stuck around. Naruto is still the better guy and Sakura already knows that, has shown that she knows that. If anything, once Sasuke is truly redeemed Sakura will be able to see the real Sasuke and not the one that's been in her head for a long time. Let us not forget that her feelings are still based on an ideal that does not exist (Remember she still thinks it was Sasuke who was sweet to her on their first day as a team, not Naruto).

While I myself didn't like this chapter initially, I can't believe half the things I'm reading in this thread. Some people are jumping to conclusions WAY too early. Do you people seriously believe that Sasuke has been permanently redeemed at this point, given all the foreshadowing and explicit development towards Naruto fighting Sasuke in a finale to determine the future of the Shinobi world? Kishi's capable of asspulls, but even he isn't capable of destroying one of the most important aspects of the entire story. And I'm calling it right now, Orochimaru has without a doubt a hidden agenda, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the final villain within the entire series, given his timely revival and his questionable current behavior. People seriously need to stop overreacting and have some patience for future plot events.

If this was Sasuke's moment of revelation, he'd have thought about his Village comrades, particularly that one guy who's been chasing after him for nearly an entire series. 2) You know how when a character is dying and there isn't a big flashback sequence or a big "I understand the meaning of my life" moment, we know they're not really going to die? Same here. Sasuke had a page that was filled with all of the Itachi moments. That was it. Sasuke has been bad for how many years now? And you guys really don't think Kishi's going to milk it for all it is worth?

Option number 1) See the above quote. This is the most likely option. Maybe he'll decide to take over the Village because it is as much the Uchiha's legacy as the Senju's? Maybe he'll get Madara out of the way and set about destroying it himself (just because he doesn't want to see Konoha wiped off the map by Madara doesn't mean he won't do it himself). Who knows. But there's definitely more to this.
Option number 2) What I said in my last post and what several people have commented on. Sasuke isn't an idiot. Why waste his energy fighting the first Hokage (and probably losing) when he can just trick him into running into the battlefield with them?

Totally agree ... except for Sasuke probably losing against Hashirama .... he would certainly lose . Speaking of asspulls , imagine Sasuke did tell them that he still wants to destroy the village and he would then proceed to fight Hashirama and defeat him .... would anyone honestly have preferred that to the current situation ?

You know, I can't help but find the responses from this chapter on this forum hilarious. We all knew Sasuke was gonna turn good. If you, for even a second, thought Kishi was gonna kill off his precious Sasuke and end the Uchiha bloodlines, then I'm sorry but you weren't using your head. It's obvious he was gonna be redeemed. Especially after all the sacrifices and damages to the Uchiha. Madara and Hashirama's failed friendship was the last straw. Sasuke was obviously gonna succeed past the curse of his clan. The moment Sasuke revived the Hokages to give himself a life lesson, I knew he would turn good. I also find it funny that Sasuke turning good is what convinces people SasuSaku can happen. Even though I've been attacked for saying Neji died to make NaruHina canon. :/

I also stated over and over that Karin would still be in love with Sasuke but people said it was a simple rouse to get herself out of prison. Nope. I was right. Which means nothing changed. Sakura, Ino and Karin are all as much in love with Sasuke as before. All that's left is to show if Naruto still has feelings for Sakura or if Kishi really did make Naruto jump ship with Neji's death.

Finally, there were a large majority of people who blamed the whole situation on Tobirama, and called him a bigot. For doing his job and protecting the village. For being wary of the Uchiha who've not only been mentioned 3 times to be unstable and emotional, but also shown that too. This chapter proved he trusted some and was wary of some. And he's right for it too. I blame ForneverWorld's asinine video for popularizing a bastardization of Tobirama's good intentions. That jackass.

Agreed. I mean if he did went other route, it could have been really bad. The fact Orochimaru couldn't control Hashirama is already bad, so best to go with the flow. We all have to patient. I'm starting to see this as a "This man can stay with us, but that doesn't mean he's part of us" situation. Meaning he may doing what's right, but I don't think he's 100% solid on the good guy role. Something will happen and/or he's hiding something. When I think about it, I guess this is the only route without getting killed by Kages and only way to confront Madara, which I always predicted it. Now, they are heading there, the question is when they will get there.

i'm kinda pissed off not with pairing but with all the wasted development, for Hinata, Sasuke, Naruto, Lee etc... Still cant hope for anything for Sakura.
maybe she will end up with Naruto, but still it's kinda sad for having an heroine with so much wasted potential.
What bothered me is the way of the story progressed nothing to do with pairings.

I can't seem to comprehend why such a great number of you NS fans are suddenly abandoning your beloved pairing because of an unrelated chapter such as this. Sakura regressing back into her fangirl state and going over to Sasuke? What happened to all your confidence that Sakura was starting to develop away from Sasuke? She and Karin are two distinct characters with different sets of personalities and development. Karin still fawning over Sasuke (as most expected) does not in any way correlate with Sakura not eventually getting over her idealistic love for him.

I expected more from this fanbase, and frankly this is simply pathetic.

It's the same thing as with 615, ppl panic and then they read the ch. again or Slex's compilation, or RTN comes out and then they come back. This chapter does not change as much as ppl think. There are just too may inconsistencies. Besides, I'm pretty sure he has done this thing before, for example, during the first Team 7 reunion Sasuke claimed that he didn't care about giving his body up to Orochimaru. Then he assimilated Orochimaru. Something about 627 just seemed off, I sense a plot twist in the future.
