Well, this gives me the feeling that this isn't an AU. Sasuke is probably still sided with Tobi-- I wonder if his decision to mess with both Naruto and Sakura have to do with him. It is rather curious as to why he would specifically cast Sakura under some genjutsu as well, if he's only set out to capture Kyuubi.

No, probably not, although if Naruto and Sakura are both affected by Tobi's genjutsu, then maybe it could "transport" them to an AU and thus the movie would be about them trying to escape. Also, perhaps Tobi didn't intend to affect Sakura as well and the only reason she got hit as well was because she tried to rescue Naruto and thus got in his "line of fire" so to speak.

It's pretty cool the the synopsis specifically mentions Sakura. It'd be awesome if our theory of an alternate reality genjutsu was actually accurate. I just find it weird that it says Naruto doesn't know his parents faces, I guess that really makes this a story completely unrelated to the manga because I thought that Naruto at least would already know who his dad really was.

Not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to seeing an outgoing Hinata. I might prefer NaruSaku but I love that girl none the less.

Is this really an genjutsu? The synopsis sounds quite different from the manga, the zombies didn't attacked Konoha, they fought in the war. This actually sounds like one of those what if scenarios.

it also sounds as if a random group of shinobi are going out the take out the akatsuki instead of naruto?? :o then tobi shows up at the village?

It's hard to gauge what's going on, but it looks the movie might be a mix of AU and canon, since the resurrected Akatsuki members will be attacking Konoha instead of joining in on the war. Though I guess the movie might have some way to explain that, be it something to do with Tobi's genjutsu (that would probably make the most sense if they're not brought back with ET), or just having the resurrected Konan, Kisame, and Hidan be taken down for good, while the rest go back to Kabuto to prepare for the war. If it's the latter, then it I guess it's much easier to see it as coexisting with the manga canon, but I suppose we'll find out in the next few months.

Also, it looks like the Sakura in this movie will be Earthland Sakura. I was joking earlier about the movie poster reminding me of Fairy Tail's Edolas Arc, and the summary kind of gives me that same vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if one or two other characters turn out to be from Non-illusionland (Sasuke?), and the plot turns out to be a reset like that arc did (for the most part anyway). There were also a few Na/Lu moments at the beginning of the Edolas Arc, so hopefully we'll get the same with Naruto and Sakura.

I just love seeing Sakura next to Naruto and his parents and far away from Sasuke (giving the idea to fans that its anti SS probably), good old Kishimoto always bringing the pairing he favors. And you're right ciardha those bashers should be panicking, them along with Pierot (they're probably giving fake smiles while raging on the inside that their precious Hyuga princess won't be stealing the spotlight).

But anyway if that's the official poster of the movie then it could mean the characters present there are the ones who will be shown more and have important roles in the movie. As for Sasuke being there like ciardha said he's probably going to have a cameo, probably involve in one of Itachi's flashbacks or something.
