He definitely would have before the pain arc.  The pain arc helped him mature so he wouldn't react the same way as Obito.  Either way young Obito is portrayed exactly like Naruto outside of the whole being late business. Also Obito was never really Madara's puppet, more like he used Madara for his own benifit.  He after all made himself the jinchuuriki.  

 

You're right, the Pein arc did play a big role in Naruto's maturity, but I still don't believe he would have gone the same way as Obito in similar circumstances even before then. Madara orchestrated Rin's death in order to make Obito lose hope and sway him to his way of thinking, and Obito allowed himself to fall under Madara's influence pretty easily. In my mind, that makes him a puppet. Maybe a willing puppet who wasn't entirely loyal, but a puppet nonetheless.

 

Of course, that's just my opinion and you're welcome to take it or leave it.

I was expecting at least 10 chapters of narusasu for the last fight, but thankfully it'll be only 4 chapters at most.

Those who are all about a grand drawn-out fight can watch anime stuffed with fillers, for all I care.

 

Let's Sakura waking up and her + Kakashi going to the valley will be either next chapter at the beginning/end or the beginning of 698.. either that or my mind is messing with me. The whole narusasu fight is going pretty fast so it'll happen soon. Naruto better man up, but if we get a scene like the OVA then there will  probably be a forehead kiss (plz kishi) .

I want a confession from him. Sakura deserves it!

Hm... well that's understandable. At least the narusasu stuff will last shorter than we thought it would u.u 

Right... that's why I guess the movie will give us a proper pairing development. I really wish, but don't think Naruto will confess anyone or even make it clear that a pairing is canon, specially because it would spoil the movie a lot... and that sucks because I want NS in the manga

If we wanted a real good NS ending, we would need at least a whole chapter of these 5 dedicated to them. As for NH/SS, they are screwed because they don't have enough chapters anymore.
