The only thing I remember is that he asked Kakashi to stay with Sakura and the Sand Granny.
Yep, he didn't look all fine and dandy when Sasuke was aiming at Sakura's throat, but then he babbled about teammates... and all the romantic tension went down the drain. He's so expressive about Sasuke that it completely overshadows his affection for Sakura.

I don't think that's the case. I mean, he pretty much stated that he doesn't think he even deserves to say how he feels about her because in his mind, he's a failure when it comes to her. Also, the context of the conversation wasn't about him or her being a teammate, it was about her and Sasuke. "Is that really how you'd treat a teammate?" It really had nothing to do with Naruto.

I think he would really be mad and sad. Then he'd go 8 tails suddenly.Hinata is his comrade but Sakura is more precious so it would be different.

I doubt that he would have gone eight-tails if Sakura had died like Kakashi (before Naruto's arrival). ((

The funny thing is that his "couldn't-care-less attitude" towards Sakura is more harmful to his depiction as a hero than to NS. It makes Naruto flat when we speak about values and choices. The more conflicted character's motives are the more depth he or she gets. Kishimoto prefers the easier way. *sigh*

Why is it always about Sasuke? I can say that he has failed Sakura just not in the way he thinks. He has failed to talk to her candidly.

Sorry I got it wrong.I thought Sakura had died-sacrificed like Hinata(though she didn't die XD).

And yeah you're right. He chooses the easier way.

Sometimes I ask myself why Akatsuki haven't thought of capturing Sakura to lure out Naruto.

"Resist, and she dies". Such a simple plan. It's like bad guys are too stupid to gather some intel on their target.

It was never about Sasuke. Yeah, he has failed to talk to her, but Naruto isn't the kind of guy to force himself on someone. He knew how she felt about Sasuke, and put her feelings over his own during the POAL, and failed to make her happy. You saw how guilty he looked in the hospital, right?

In part 1, Take Sakura =

1.Get Naruto

2.Get Sasuke

3.Get Kakashi

4.they weren't so strong

5.you win

I disagree, sakura is always save and that's why naruto doesn't to concern about it.

Naruto is concern to someone when he/she in dangerous situation. Once they past it. He will go back to goofy mode.

Until naruto save sasuke, naruto will always worried about him.

He doesn't need to force himself on her. They should have discussed Sasuke's situation and what it means to them (at least). Naruto's love seems ambiguous: he treasures Sakura's Sasuke-feelings (like POAL and the incident with the Cloud shinobi) and yet he usually doesn't take her Naruto-feelings (and not only) into consideration in spite of Sakura showing (in a blatant way) that she deeply cares for his well-being.

Sakura isn't always safe. Not mentioning she's insecure as hell when it comes to her teammates. Her Naruto-insecurity rivals her Sasuke-insecurity. I believe the first one to be much more of a pain actually (if Naruto plays a Sasuke on her, she'll be crushed without any genjutsu). The girl would only benefit from his occasional attention.

Yes, she always safe. Be it by naruto, byakugo, or plot.

Naruto will not play a sasuke. If you mean there are no NS interaction in war arc, that because naruto and sakura already reach critical point to the point NS relationship will make or break.

NS take a turn in term of developement of each character.
In part 1 it's naruto turn until the end of part 1.
In part 2 it's sakura turn until the land of iron arc.
In war arc there are no meaningful NS interaction until naruto save sakura from zetsu or chapter 631.

War arc act as a resolution arc for naruto world setting, minor character, and main character.

Sakura is the representation of love/romantic bond.
Narusaku is the romance.

But it seems like Sakura's "Sasuke feelings" are always on display in front Naruto, point in case being 693. Whether she was just desperate (as I believed her to be) or not, is it hard to see why he might have low confidence when it comes to her? He might just thinks that she doesn't like him romantically, but Naruto has always been a naive guy. Others have noticed how she feels, but he hasn't, because he constantly sees how she feels towards Sasuke lol I definitely agree that they do need to have the talk though, and it will probably come in the movie.

By your logic Sasuke is always safe too. Be it Itachi (or any other character), sharingan or plot. I'm not complaining about the quantity, I'm more concerned about the quality. NS is romance, yet sometimes it doesn't look like one. I can admit that even if I don't want to.

Yes, you are right about her Sasuke-feelings being on display. Yet she displayed Naruto-feelings as well but they were hardly ever taken "seriously" by Naruto himself, and that makes me metaphorically cringe. It's like nothing Sakura does actually matters to him until the POAL is fulfilled. Ghaaaaaaaaaah!

The comment section rocks!  "Naruto-doesn't-love-Sakura" is a classic. You see why I critisize Kishimoto's take on romance? The POAL doesn't stand for an evident sign which proves Naruto's love in the eyes of majority.
