Probably not. It seems as if his mother is using that as a way to make money. I doubt they're related. Besides, Whitebeard's entire purpose for going out to sea was to have a family. Why sail away from what he already had?

Lol just because we didn't know of him doesn't mean that he's a no name character. He's obviously gained a lot of reputation since the two year timeskip, and that's what the position is about. You don't become a warlord because of your brain, you become one because of  your strength and/or reputation.

His intelligence is same as fake Mugiwara's and he's not an important character so far, nothing more that cash grabber for his mother it seems, before - all shichibukaui's was awesome - this one is at most "poor" and can't be considered cool or strong, just because it's city in flames in background or he is holdind alebarda similar to WB's.

"He's not an important character so far" except that the World Government deemed him reputable enough to be made into a Shibukai. He can't be considered strong? Did you even read the chapter? Nobody considers him strong because hes standing in front of a destroyed city, people consider him strong because he's single-handedly beaten 16 of the 45 pirate captains that were allied with Whitebeard, as well as all their crews. Just recently, in this chapter, he beat a captain and his entire crew, and was responsible for over 600 dead or injured including both pirates and civilians.

It was fun. Zoro is reading the Newspaper because he sees Tashigi in it. Gotta make sure his bae is still alive and kicking.

 

So this is how Luffy has Marco and co. serve under him. By taking out Weeble.

And you're probably right about Marco. He's likely to show up as an ally soon.

More like Nami and Luffy were talking, Sanji gets jelly and tries to strong arm Luffy out of the way, Nami puts on that face to placate him while internally thinking "why the hell is this creep doing this" and devising ways to get him out of her way so that she can talk to her King. Meanwhile, Zoro is browsing around the newspaper because a new bounty got released for Robin, and damn she looks hella beau~ in her new wanted picture.

Good fight FY, it was fun. Don't let the doorknob hit ya and all :)

Well to be fair, the chapter is more of a setup than anything, so we don't really have much going on like, "Oh crap, he's there?! What for?" or any theory. It's a straightforward chapter.

Yeah I know, but at least they got to zou quick. They should be reunited with the others soon, and I hope Sanji, Nami, Chopper, and Brook have more to do in this arc.
