I am more concerned about NH because IT will be taken down a which gives more potential for a NH development as that ship hasn't seen development for months

 

Um, it's never had any development.

There's no way to know that, or say it with such authority.  Anything could happen.  Let's not freak people out with simple speculation.

Any confession (if Kishi even cares anymore) will be made in the movie as was hinted in that promotional video but I am not holding my breath.

 

There is no way I can see any pairings resolved. At the very least Sakura coming to some realization that she loves Naruto and even that is a massive stretch with the manga ending in 5 chapters.

 

At the very least, SS and NH are looking just as unlikely to happen in the manga.

It does seem that the most likely theory is pairings will happen in the movie.

So I realize pairings aren't the main focus of this manga and all, but while I would prefer an open ending over NH or SS being canon, it would still be pretty frustrating. Because all the pairing fandoms would insist they won and fans could argue endlessly. Yeah, if a pairing became canon world war three would break out, but it would only last until people were done venting and they'd go on with their lives.

id rather have nh/ss over an open ending,its either win or lose, dont be a puss. open ending would be the worst thing to come to this manga when romance had alot of focus, and foreshadows that naruto will end up with someone.

The closest way I can see this story somewhat conclusively end in the manga is an ending similar to the 2011 OVA. The other big question is will Naruto be Hokage by the end of  the manga?  

 

What about you guys? 

 

 

Usually I'd say be patient, but I myself am still trying to figure out how Kishi is gonna have a conclusive ending to the manga?

Meh, I'd prefer an open ending over NH/SS only because I wouldn't have to drastically alter my head canon in order to ship NS. That's the only reason.

Sasuke has brutally rejected Sakura.That ship is not believable either

Well, didn't "you know who" said the movie would be the final chapter of Naruto? But he also had to keep it a secret if Part 3 will come like LOK, which made it seem like there will be a Continuation of some sort.
Still, I would have expected that the manga would be going until the movie comes out.

Sakura resolving her feelings with Sasuke during the last 5 chapters, maybe coming to the conclusion she loves Naruto or something like that.

 

Fight ends and the infinite tsukuyomi ends.

 

Time skip far into the future with a new generation of kids in the academy, maybe with Naruto as the hokage and we see a kid that resembles Naruto (if the kid has normal eyes that rules out a NaruHina ending).

 

The movie acts a bridge between, shows what happened after the war. If we take into consideration what the narrator said in that video about Naruto and Sakura's appearance, then there will be a confession there and we'll know who the mother of the kid shown in the last chapter is, resolving one pairing.

 

Don't see Sasuke ending up with Sakura after what happened 2 chapters ago. NaruHina on a romantic level is weak at best and there has been nothing to suggest Naruto feels that way.

 

That's the only way I can see a NaruSaku ending happening, but any way you slice it'll feel half-assed.

My personal opinion....  I don't think Kishimoto is terribly comfortable with making Naruto and Sakura get together in an obvious way.  I mean, remember, this is the guy who was embarrassed to draw Sakura in a bikini top.  

 

If I had to make a guess, I'd say the manga will end with a strong implication of NS.  I disagree that there's no time for Naruto to confess.  All it would take is a page.  Or for them to somehow return to the bench when they get back to Konoha.  Something.

 

I don't expect a kiss (involving both sets of lips, anyway) except maybe Naruto kissing Sakura's forehead.

 

However, the movie will likely make NS perfectly clear.

Technically an open ending would still be us 'losing'... And NH/SS happening would be worse because the manga hasn't built up to it at all; in fact it's gone the opposite way. Kishi has built up NS for the entire manga, and with an open ending at least he wouldn't be contradicting what he's written, as any traction NH/SS gains in the manga is pulled down later in the story. If there was an open ending at least NS would still be a possibility, even if it wasn't absolutely confirmed.

If NS isn't firmly established at the end, I hope it'll at least be strongly implied. And I guess it would officially canon in the movie. (I'd definitely prefer it to be done in the manga, but kishi's gotta do what he gotta do I guess)

What if in the ending of the movie there is post-credit scene that teases a part 3? Wishful thinking, I know, but that would be a cool way to announce a continuation.

My best guess it would take at least 6 to 8 months before we get the subs online. I know since it took this long for both Blood Prison, and Road To Ninja to hit the webs after their theatrical released in Japan.

 

 

Which means if it comes out in December either we'll see The Last sometime between June and August of next year. Who knows maybe Viz may even announce an limited time theatrical release for The Last similar to what they did for RTN.
