Woah both Natsu and Gray goes berserk because their girls dying .... i feel the author want's to ensure the readers that both were rival and a "healthy man" ... not gay, or nothing like Gray become Natsu only goal or vice versa bull s**t. I'm glad the author leave the love triangle to dust and liberate Lisana from damsel in distress, she cares more about her siblings ... unlike some petty princess i could name ...

Makarov being resurrected to life by some other means would go against what this series has repeatedly established: Toying with life and death is a no-no lest you get cursed by Ankhseram. But yeah, I'm not betting on Makarov staying dead either even though as grand a death he died.

I kind of have to slap myself in the face because when you think about it, FL's limitations and dangers was pretty damn obvious and was hinted at least since FT Zero. If the incomplete version inflicts an immortality curse, then the completed version would obviously be one's own life force to pay. In a sense, what Mavis did by completing it was "reject" the immortality curse and traded it by giving up the user's lifespan.

4th times for Makarov to go "go all out to death" because he has escaped from it that many times. That said I sort of blame the past chapters to make me think otherwise, which is distracting and disappointing of me to even think this way. So, I must focus on this very moment only.

Now, from what I got, it was good. About his death, is it really? Honestly, this is perhaps the ultimate testament of my patience in Mashima's writing. If he stays dead, then I will reflect back and think more positively. If not, this is reaching it. I don't mind revival but I do mind fake out death after confirmed dead or make the requirement of them being dead. Not even One Piece would go this far and even then, it has way too many redeeming factor and I'm not even OP biggest fan.

So...do you believe this is truly over for him?

hmm so 1 of 2 things will happen. One Makarov is not actually dead and will return alve and well or he's actually dead. If it's the latter he probably won't come back because let's give Mashima SOME credit here. He doesn't ressurect dead characters does he? He merely makes it seem some character WOULD BE dead and pull the rug form under and reveals they survived by a slim chance

Honestly, I only dislike confirmed dead oh wait he/she is really alive within the same arc. Revival don't bother me, so long it is justified. Mashima did the whole dead thing a bit too much with one arc, so if he can really carry on with this, then so be it.

Yeah the ones who are SUPPOSED to stop Natsu and Gray are Lucy and Juvia respectively. And I call BS on Erza stopping Both Gray's Devil Slayer magic and Natsu's E.N.D. powers simultaneously

I don't hate Erza but goodness, they overpower her in so many moments that its ridiculous and honestly I felt the old man had no reason to die...

Yup no point. He thinks that sacrificing himself will save everyone from being hurt anymore? He's deluding himself. There are still millions of soldiers left and most of the Spriggan 12 still remain too. That is just ego stroking in the end
