My answer is that Hinata is popular standalone, so if she's popular, she must have romance. And who's the one she wants? Naruto. Lee is not popular (lame...) so he doesn't get the same star power as Hinata.

Actually in Japan Lee is fairly popular. (Moreso than Kushina, Bee, Konan, Kiba, Shino, Ino, Karin, Tenten, Tsunade, Orochimaru, Obito, Kuruma, Tayuya, Asuma, Terumi Mei, Chouji, Anko, Shizune, Omoi, Samui, Rin etc...)

Oh ok, but I never see him in top 10 characters chart. So, I don't know. Lee did at least show sign of protecting Sakura in war arc, but it wasn't important enough to expand.

Well at least he got his own manga/anime to expand his love for Sakura, even though it ends up in a failure.

Actually he was in the top 10 in all the part 1 polls, sometimes more popular than Hinata.

Oh ok. I guess people don't see him as a romance material, so no extras for him. Again, at least he got some in his spin-off show.

I kinda want to share this with you guys. I was roaming on the FF.net forums and came across this post concerning Naruto and Sakura's relationship. It's anti, confusing, and comes from a Sakura hater:

Is anyone else as confused by this argument as I am? sweat.gif

Best that you disregard this post because I have a similiar post from a 60 year old NH obaa-san omfg.gif back in the pairing wars that Naruto and Sakura has is a filial relationship. only

SasuSaku = Intense love

NaruHina = Innocent love

NaruSaku = Real love

Only the last one can persevere in the long run. That's a lesson that all of us must learn throughout life.

Here here.

It's funny that out of all of them, only the last one got the interaction that really put them a smile on their faces. I mean yeah, second one can too, but the man doesn't feel the same desire as the third one, so the woman is alone in that aspect. I really wish I can fast forward the battle in the manga. I just want to get a perfect clear on what is Kishi's game. Movie is a huge clue, so now, we have to wait and see if he's that serious.

Intense love? Sasuke doesn't love her, he doesn't even like her. In fact to quote him exactly she's "annoying" to him. Their bond was that of teammates. I am really waiting for Sakura to finally get over her love for Sasuke. It's just such an obvious flaw with her that Kishi is basically throwing in our face trying to say "See this guys? This is a problem, but don't worry, eventually I'll get around to fixing it.... *trollface*"

Still waiting on Sakura's character development Kishi.... You haven't forgot about her right? RIGHT?!

I wonder why he's more popular. And he certainly must be, he's gotten his own spin off show. But to me he doesn't seem to stand out from the rest of the rookies. Sure he has his own unique personality and he's likeable enough. But I remember being surprised when he got his own show. *shrugs*

Dude, you're raging. Why are you raging? huh.gif

Take a deep breath and look at what I posted. Sakura's love for Sasuke has always been on the intense side, which is the reason why it always cause her pain and is portrayed as negative to her character. On the other hand, her love for Naruto is more on the gentle side, which is more ideal for an everlasting relationship.

Intense love is like a flame that burn too bright and, by consequence, extinguishes really quick. Sakura's love for Sasuke was build to be the type that wouldn't last if fulfilled.

Additionally, Sasuke's feelings never fall into the equation of SasuSaku, it's always about how Sakura feels, so I really don't know why you brought him up.

it's the way your reading it that makes it seem that way. you need to stop being so angry while reading things.

Take this comment for example :

I am hungry.

______

If you read it in a way that I am scraming at the top of my lungs during a hurricane while its 110 degree weather and acid rain while laying on a bed of nails covered in salt then yes I am absolutely raging and should calm down.

However if you read it in a way that I'm just sitting at my computer typing it then no it's not raging.

It's perspective really.

This.

If she actually get his love from Sasuke, what lesson are we supposed to learn from them? It's horrible and the lesson will make twilight looks subtle. I strongly doubt that's what is Kishi, especially he did it again in the movie, only this time a playboy. So Sasuke in terms of romance is terrible and that's what Kishi is telling us.

If you want to tell me that I misinterpreted your emotional state while making that comment then you're completely within your rights to do so. But it makes you sound a little hypocritical if you yourself then make assumptions about my own emotional state.

It may be more strongly admired in Japanese culture than in western culture- the person that, like Naruto, never gives up, but has a lot more of a wall to overcome and fails again and again, but despite his failures he will still push to his last ounce of strength to get somewhere.

Well Kishimoto called Sakura's love for Sasuke naive (twice), so I think naive is better, Hinata's is more mistaking hero worship for love, while Sakura's love for Sasuke is what a naive young girl who's read too many romance stories for young girls would mistake for real love.

right and i think that it will come the moment that hinata too will figure her love was more of hero worship, really hope for it, cause it's better for her as a character who had been in this state from a long time. kishi will not pass it for her without making a clear showing for the readers about this, i can see it happening.

I agree with both of you. But lets say if I was shipping all three pairings, this would be the best way to describe their relationship in a positive way.

A misunderstood is a misunderstood. Let's all of us forget this mistake. Whoever is right doesn't matter right now, so let's just move on and talk about more on NaruSaku vs. the world... I mean the other two pairings. That's what I meant.

You know, I actually forgot that we have the chapter this week already. That means a longer wait for the next. Joy...
