Well it is a new era which people would be confused as in why everyone looks different and else. I never said it's not canon, but it doesn't sound solid proof to begin with. It would be easier to ask the question on why and/or how did this (like NH for example) occurred or something like that. Plus, why Kishi would have to say the same thing dozens of times. Not to mention, they will say that and really don't effect the overall plot.

Here's a question: if the movie isn't supposed to be "the end" or whatever, even though they hyped it to be a new era, a short lived no less (or maybe...), then what would you be thinking exactly? What if the manga epilogue is only 3 months later? Take it as a if, if you must, but do answer without going "well it's already been said..." Answer the question.

 

Its the most solid proof. Do you want them to outright say its canon, that is not going to happen. No movie or anime filler has been stated to connect to the original work and go beyond it. The fact that it states it connects should be enough. 

 

We wont ever seen future NV and Kishimoto worked on it. For me anyway its canon.

Kishimoto worked on it and has stated they are connected.  Why wouldnt it be canon? 

 

Yes, Kishimoto is credited with the story concept and is functioning as the chief story editor for The Last.  

 

My problem is, saying it is "connected" makes it difficult to know for sure what elements of it are canon, and meant to adhere to the canon of which part -- the old manga that is concluding, or the new era that is launching, or both -- since there is so much confusion surrounding what's happening with the franchise at this time.  

 

The press releases have stated that this is the final Naruto film, and in the same breath say it is also part of the larger New Era Project.  That makes no sense.

 

I'm just not ready to make the leap that "connected" necessarily means "continuation."  But for the sake of conversation, let's say the movie is 100% canon.  Without knowing what's actually in the film, we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions as to what it means for the relationships before the last of the manga has been released.

Manga is clearly pointing to NS with NH being trolled over and over, even if NH looks more like a possiblity with all those teases, NS still makes the most sense. And even more if you considere the fact Kishi really likes to troll and bully Hinata.

hold on a second   I'm calling bs, naruto's eyes aren't sparkling, hold on a second....yup, just watched the trailer, those little trolls edited the gif to make it look like his eyes were sparkling   I knew something was fishy, there is nothing romantic about it even more now like I thought

Hi, i've been lurker for a while :o and decided to make an account just to point out about the Scarves that i've noticed and no one has seem to mention yet (or if they have, i apologize for repeating facts @_@)

 

 

 

 

in the trailer The Red Scarf that hinata wanted to give to Naruto is supposedly ripped apart. Looks like a foreshadowing of Hinatas feelings to Naruto, since the Red Scarf is suppose to be the symbolism for the Red Thread. That Hinatas feelings might not be returned

Anyway there's something I've wanted to mention about this scarf. Look at it, it's way to long. Did Hinata knit that scarf ever since she had that flashback or what. And ever since that day she kept knitting that scarf. It's ridiculously long.

You know this "wait for me" line can't possibly be directed to Hinata because it doesn't make any sense. Hinata is right there with him going to save Hanabi. So why wait for me when I can just tell you right now.

Proof but not confirmed. You say it goes beyond, but the thing is it does because well, they're older. Connected. Does it mean it's canon? Yes. No. I don't know. I'm not going to outright say it but again, it's possible. It's easier on many because it's after the series, so they will have to think it's pure canon. I don't blame them but I can see why people like KnS thinks otherwise.

Knitting isn't that time consuming, besides she used a large thread of wool which means large needles, which means larger stitches. Those are extremelly fast to knit.
