Okay. Now I'm just even more confused. Well whether it's past or present tense, it doesn't really matter... In the end, Sakura's feelings are just really confusing to me. Are they changing? Are they not? Were they really like this the whole time? It just makes you wonder what the heck Kishi is telling us...

Oh well. Doesn't really matter if he did. If she tells Kakashi, he's not stupid, he'll know what actually happened, especially since that was so out of character from "Sasuke". And if it doesn't come to that, then Hagoromo is chilling right there with front row tickets to Naruto's life, and probably knows about that too.

Past tense or present tense still doesn't matter. This chapter was nothing g more than a wake up call for Sakura (why the hell Kishi has dragged it out this long is beyond me, he should have given her this a long ass time ago), and there's plenty of road to go with NS. For instance that bench scene. Either she experiences something in the genjutsu that makes her question why she "fell in love" with Sasuke, bringing is back to that, or Hagoromo or Kakashi ask her, and she answers. Wasn't Kakashi watching them that whole time during when they first met up? If that's when she "fell in love" with Sasuke, and Kakashi saw that, and knew it was Naruto (which he most likely did), then he'll probably end up telling her that was Naruto, or Hagoromo will show her one of Naruto's memories, since the dude was inside Naruto's skull for a while, and has been watching him his whole life. And then Sakura has a "wtf" moment, runs off to vote, and there's the OVA scene.

Nah you don't get it she didn't fall in love with Sasuke for that compliment, she liked him way back in the academy. And for her to fall in love with Sasuke and continue to do so because of that comment would be truly disgusting. Plus why didn't she never bring it up in flashbacks? She remembers other scenes with Sasuke but never the comment. Don't cling to false hope, she loved Sasuke when he tired to kill her, the genjutsu won't change anything and both Hagoromo and apparent love genius Kakashi defended her ridiculous love.

I haven't read a ton of the pro SS posts trying to get something positive out of this chapter. But one of their arguments is that Sasuke could have killed her, instead he put her in a genjutsu because he didn't want her to interfere with the fight.

 

Well, I'm probably not the first to bring this up...I'm a little slow sometimes. But, if he was being kind by puting her in genjutsu, why choose such a traumatic one? Doesn't sound like a guy that's supposed to be secretly in love to me, y'know?

So basically Kishi made it such that both Hinata and Sakura marry their childhood crushes without giving a damn for the boys feelings and throwing Sakura's character down the drain in the process
I still can't believe Sakura will actually end up with Sasuke after this.I mean she HARDLY knows the guy.She knows him less than Naruto does Hinata and vice versa

If he does go this route than I guess Kishi just likes tragic romance rather than realistic ones

It's not completely unbelievable. Kushina fell in love with Minato after he complimented her hair, i.e. her biggest insecurity. "Sasuke" (Naruto) complimenting her forehead (Sakura's biggest insecurity) could have had her fall in love the same way, only with the wrong person. If she finds out that it was Naruto, then it's concievable that she'll understand her feelings for Sasuke were a lie this whole time, and that it was Naruto that made the comment. It acts as a parallel between MK and NS.

It's possible, but at the same time, he can't be blamed for it. He was a 12 year old kid, hated by everyone in the village, and he just wanted to know what his crush thought of him. It was an innocent gesture, tbh. But if you do blame Naruto for starting that, you kinda have to look at Sakura for believing that Sasuke was the kind of guy that would say that. Neither of ten are really to blame (should my scenario come to light) but at the same time, they both are.
