Kishi loves to take advantage of that little issue..
Naaaaah, Kishimoto's men are really emotional! But they're mostly emotional about other men! That's the problem!

Alright, let's just not trust any translation ever then. That's what this is coming down to, really; the implication that there is no way to experience this manga in English.
There's a line that needs to be drawn somewhere. Viz is the official translation, as far as I know. Mangapanda and Mangastream are not. If the official translation is deemed unworthy, let alone both of the unofficial ones as well, then there's no pleasing anyone anywhere, ever.
I think it's a tad bit ridiculous for the official translation to be put under such scrutiny by the fandom.
But this is exactly how it is.
Like Konan-sama pointed out, there was a discrepancy between Viz translations and some other translations in that chapter with Kushina's words to Naruto.
One more time something similar happened was in 675. I think Viz used the present tense for Kakashi's words there. And everyone here were like "Meh, its Viz...".
But now that Viz's translation is closer to NS interpretation( and maybe the actual raws too) people are fine with using Viz's translation.
And about that point you make about drawing a line- its impossible. We are NS fans, we will always be a little bit biased. So naturally we'll accept, more readily, the translations that favor NS. There won't ever be one translation( like Viz, MP,MS) that we will always agree with.

FINALLY! Someone with wisdom....No. There is no reset. Things changed besides Team 7 still caring for Sasuke's sorry ass. Nothing surprising. I'm tired of repeating the same words today. You may be pessimistic as much as you like but don't ruin the mood. This chapter hardly promotes NS but also gives nothing positive to SS. Nothing. If anything, it shows that Sakura outgrew her childhood feelings.

She is in love with him still, the Viz translation really doesn't change anything other than making Kakashi's dialogue less terrible.
so the pessimist people was right.. sakura confess again

Why is it that some people forget that Viz is the translation which is closest to the raw which was translated by our friends in here who are unbiased and their mother tongue is Japanese?
And she's still confessing to Sasuke in a 181 fashion? What exactly changed with Viz's translation other than Kakashi's dialogue being a little less degrading?

This question...has been answered countless number of times since yesterday and as @Syn11 said, "I am tired of repeating the same stuff again and again"...if you are so hell bent on getting an answer...read pages 165-169 of this thread....And she's still confessing to Sasuke in a 181 fashion? What exactly changed with Viz's translation other than Kakashi's dialogue being a little less degrading?

No, it's not the same. In this chapter she says "I love you" compared to saying "I'm so in love with you I can't even stand it!" in 181.And she's still confessing to Sasuke in a 181 fashion? What exactly changed with Viz's translation other than Kakashi's dialogue being a little less degrading?

I am sticking with Mangapanda. That chapter feels like the most to the point. I don't care what Mangastream or Viz have it as. There is no point in jumping from translation to the other like a bunny finding a carrot.
I still believe MP is the accurate version.

People from here already translated the raw and said Viz is accurate to it for once. So basically, Kakashi doesn't say:I am sticking with Mangapanda. That chapter feels like the most to the point. It honestly does seem that way at times in terms of translations and I agree with you that it is silly these official translations are questioned or pruned when one see's fit.
My own thoughts:
Viz media may be considered like crap because they do have a tendency to translate in such a way that what is being said can be understood by ENGLISH speakers.
But..sadly not all meanings and phrases cannot easily be translated over to English, and thus a translator must use their knowledge to fill in the blanks while at the same time making the content understandable. We must accept this.
But honestly, Viz is comprised of professionals who do this for a living. To think they all live in their mothers' basements and vehemently ship fictional characters is asinine. The pairing wars are made more of a big deal than they really are to many people.
I think that's a bit of a problem with shipping in terms of a manga, because the words people translated can be translated in so many different ways. It gets silly when something does not read a certain way and people are quick to question the translations. They only do this with pairings. I have yet to see people question any thing else besides that.
In terms of Viz's original translation of Kushina's words to Naruto. I'll honestly go with that. Is bias likely? I seriously and honestly doubt it.
"First girl to come your way," implies the first girl to make a romantic grab for him. The first girl to pick him. That was Hinata. Versus if Kushina said "first girl you see" which would imply the first girl NARUTO see's romantically. But she did not say the latter, but instead the former.
Then you have Minato, his father himself, comparing Sakura to Kushina. If the Viz translation implied the first girl Naruto see's(romantically) and then at the same time had Kushina saying "find a girl like me" this would heavily contradict Kishimoto as this point. Thus from there this is why "the first girl to come your way" should logically be processed as meaning the first girl in which shows romantic interest in Naruto. That was again, Hinata.
Hence why I am defending Viz, their translation I like far more than "don't pick a weird one", which is very ambiguous. And their translation for this chapter, especially the end, has clarified quite a lot. How I read in the unprofessional translations there was an implication that Sasuke had to change the love that he had like his actual mother to something more, and not how he has to change back to love from hate and not be like Kaguya. A big big difference.
Viz all the way.

This is how I saw it too when I saw that line. That line to me was never, in my mind, a bad thing that went against NS.

Yeah, Naruto and Kakashi "love" Sasuke too. The word she used means anything from "I love you so much!" to "I really liked that corndog!". On top of that, she said "I love you" in comparison to the "I'm so in love with you..." that she said last time.no? confirmation maybe?

Um... She didn't say "I'm in love with you" in 181. She used suki, which can also mean what you're saying. Here she used daisuki which literally means "big like," and when used toward people it is more often than not romantic...Yeah, Naruto and Kakashi "love" Sasuke too. The word she used means anything from "I love you so much!" to "I really liked that corndog!". On top of that, she said "I love you" in comparison to the "I'm so in love with you..." that she said last time.
Sasuke himself seemed to consider it romantic feelings, hence his "I have no reason to like her..." reaction. However Kakashi then tells him that "Sakura's not trying or wanting to make you hers! She only wants to save you!"
After that Sasuke seems to understand, has a flashback of his family, and says "Perhaps... Those are the ties... To a failed past".
Like other people said, it's basically:
Sakura: I love you!
Sasuke: You're annoying and I have no reason to like you.
Kakashi: She doesn't want to be with you, she only wants to save you. She's not "in love" with you, she just "loves you".

People from here already translated the raw and said Viz is accurate to it for once. So basically, Kakashi doesn't say:
"Didn't she just say that she wanted you by her side?"
And instead says:
"Sakura's not trying or wanting to make you hers!"
We're not going with Viz because it's closer to what we want, we're using Viz because it's accurate to the raw.
Thank you, I read the other post. I don't need a retelling. However, Mangapanda speaks the same as Viz and it held the same message that Viz is telling. Seems to me the only one that is biased is Mangastream. Mangapanda is not always the cleanest, but they have been the most reliable out of all the ones I have seen. No one is perfect, but I rather stick to the one than jump from one to the other until I get the translation I want her hear whether right or wrong. Whatever reason you all have.
Anyway, the context is not lost in the MP version.
Viz is accurate once and all of a sudden some here are saying it is the end all and be all of knowledge? Whatever. Still sticking to Mangapanda if it is all the same to you. Like I said time and time again, it has been the one most reliable.
By the way to say to some people on here: You take words too literally sometimes. Sometimes "love" and "loved" can be interchangeable. Sure, it is not proper grammar, but humans are not always proper.
"You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."
So I guess Obi-Wan no longer loves Anakin Skywalker as a brother? I highly doubt that.
