I lost by one friggin point right at the last minute shamefulcry0js.gif
That person crying in my avatar is actually me.

Our game was great, Peyton Manning really saved my ass. Just before the Dallas game, I was fairly confident that I'd win, then my 3 Dallas players combined for 7.1 points, along with your Dallas player getting 20. I was quite annoyed at that game. Today I wasn't as confident, but still thought I had a slight chance at winning because I didn't think the Jets defence would get as many points as they did against Baltimore, then they ended up getting 21. After that I didn't think I would pull off the win, but then Antonio Gates had something like 46 yards and a TD in the first Quarter and I was right back in it. I was getting very impatient during the second quarter, then Antonio finally got another another reception in the third quarter that put me in the lead and I knew I had won.

Before the game I didn't think I'd win it really, but I got very lucky with a couple of players, especially Peyton who saved the game for me. I hope my luck continues next week, but I'm not so sure it will. I need another WR or RB I think, I was thinking about taking Legedu Naanee (and a couple others who were also taken before I woke up), but I was beaten to it by True who had supposedly gone to bed 30 minutes earlier tongue.gif But to be fair he needs the guy more than I do haha. I guess I'll give the Dallas players another week to see if they can do better, along with Demaryius Thomas, who should make his debut against Seattle.

Pretty much exactly how my thoughts went, too. I knew when Gates got that TD right away and the announcer called him the QB's favorite target that I was doomed if he got even one more reception.
Playing in two leagues this year, and no other matchup in either of them came nearly as close as that, so indeed it was a great game, lol. Who would have thought that I should have started Hasselbeck instead of Rodgers sleep.gif

Week One Quick Recap:

Sparky McRandomsons 128.40
Leatherbacks 88.65
-Can Arian Foster fill the role of Chris Johnson for me? I don't know, but this week was a good start towards that.

Konoha Shinobi 93.15
Zatties! 79.45
-Hurray Chris Johnson! And when your leading scorer is the Defense (like Z's was), something likely went wrong.

Fire the fatman PLZ 99.55
Paradoxes 75.95
-Whoa, Hakeem Nicks blew up. I didn't see that coming - I had him benched in a different league. Unfortunately for Paradox Jast, he's the only one on his team that did really well.

The Golden Thumbs 111.95
Gama Warriors 110.80
-Well, this one was back and forth! Guess who gets the 'Kick to the Groin' award? Maybe we should just change the name to the 'Nee-sama Memorial?' biggrin.gif

Fumbles 94.10
Jersey Shore 56.30
-A tale of two QBs: Tom Brady goes off, Kevin Kolb gets carted off. There's more to this game than that, but that was a microcosm of this matchup.

The Generals 59.05
Tokyo Raiders 103.70
-This game taught me two things: 1) I vastly overrated Michael Crabtree ("Practice Preseason? C'mon man, we talkin' about practice preseason."), and 2) Matt Forte is gonna look good this year.

Boldin Showers 56.55
Dark Wulves 98.40
-Don't feel bad True, I bought into the Bernard Berrian hype too.

This week: 5-2
Season pick record: 5-2

Someone who has Photoshop/GIMP or something will have to do better. I suck at this.

Seemingly Great H&E 2010 FF League "Kick To The Groin" Recipients:

The "Kick to the Groin" award is presented to the person who probably should have won, but didn't for various reasons. Criteria including but not limited to:
-Total points scored relative to the rest of the league that week.
-Closeness of game
-LOLTies
-Just other LOLness in general

"Winners:"

Week 1: Nee-Sama (3rd highest point total for the week and lost by just over a point.)

I hate saying this, but my best reciever this year may be Donald Driver. Johnson underperformed (and got robbed) and Mike Sims-Walker may have been kidnapped. And the Broncos trades for another RB. Can't count on the Giants D forcing 5 turnover every game.

I have MSW on another league. Kidnapped and identity theft may be worth looking into...

Jwolf's Wildly Inaccurate Week 2 Predictions!

This week's predictions brought to you by coffee. Ah, coffee. People who don't like coffee are the devil.

Again, predicted winner italicized.

Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly, 1-0) vs. Fire the fatman PLZ (Illmatic, 1-0)
-Konoha Shinobi favored by ~5.5

Starting here with an upset. I think Carson is gonna have to throw a ton to keep the Bengals in the game, and I like both Steves (Smith Carolina flavor and Breaston) to have better games than the projections say. It pains me to pick against CHRISJOHNSON!!!!!!1!, but color me skeptical that David Garrard gets even half of what he did last week.

Zatties! (Zatren6, 0-1) vs. Leatherbacks (Nick Soapdish, 0-1)
-Zatties! favored by ~2

Picking a smaller upset here if you go by the numbers. I like all of Z's N'Awlins plays (Brees, Defense) as well as Ahmad Bradshaw, but I feel that "Brett Favre's Magical Elderly Gunslinging Show" puts on a much better performance this week and Jonathon Stewart gets good numbers against Tampa. It comes down to the supporting cast - I feel better about Steve Smith (NYG)/Austin Collie/Robert Meachem/Jahvid Best than I do Brandon Marshall/Jeremy Maclin/Brandon Lloyd/Thomas Jones.

The Golden Thumbs (Rick, 1-0) vs. Paradoxes (Paradox Jast, 0-1)
-The Golden Thumbs favored by ~9.5

Can't go against the Aussie here. Green Bay's D against that putrid Buffalo offense? Peyton Manning? Even LaDanian looks good this week. McNabb projected for 21? I like the guy, but that's a lot to ask for.

Fumbles (Nate River, 1-0) vs. Gama Warriors (Nee-sama, 0-1)
-Gama Warriors favored by ~2.5

"Paging Mike Sims-Walker, paging Mike Sims-Walker. Mike Sims-Walker, the season has already started!" Nate is gonna need him to show up, because in a close battle like this every last point is crucial. I feel that Minnesota will throw the ball more on Miami, and All-Day won't be able to offset the difference in the WR corps, giving a narrow win to Nee-sama.

The Generals (Nuclear Raven, 0-1) vs. Jersey Shore (Mik3, 0-1)
-Jersey Shore favored by ~14.5

Um. I can't really think of anything that isn't borne out in the projections already. Losing Ryan Grant for the year was such a blow to Nuclear Raven.

Boldin Showers (True, 0-1) vs. Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia, 1-0)
-Tokyo Raiders favored by ~16

See comment about projections above. Is Shonn Greene already in danger of losing his starting job to LT?

Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0, 1-0) vs. Dark Wulves (Burning_Wulf, 1-0)
-Sparky McRandomsons favored by ~11.5

The Arian Foster bandwagon rolls on, joined by a potentially tasty Jamaal Charles matchup at Cleveland (if Mangini ever gets his head out of his butt, anyway). Romo and Andre Johnson should be enough to offset any surprises from Philip Rivers and Greg Jennings.

Pick record (Season): 5-2

It's a dramatic battle between Favre and Best for my team's fate. Favre has two picks (one off of a tip, but the other was horrible) and a fumble in the endzone. And he's passed for virtually no yards and no TDs. Wolud've been nice if he could've hooked up with Shank for that TD. Favre's really missing Rice (and training camp).

But Best is having a pretty good day - again.

Coach True, you hyped up that Miami defence all preseason, yet you have benched them for 2 games, despite they being your top defence, I believe they would qualify as a "winner" in anyone's book, will you finally play them in week 3?
