I still can't see why NaruHina fans want it to happen so bad that they wouldn't mind it happening by default. I mean default pairings are the worst, there's no development, no chemistry between the characters, and you always feel like they got together "just because".

Didn't see this posted in this thread (unless I skipped a post - sorry if I did)
This was posted in the LiveJournal Chuunin community: it's pro-NaruHina and anti-NaruSaku.

Partly a rhetorical question, and partly because I honestly don't remember: when was the last time Hinata did something of relevance in the manga again?

Oh and the last time Hinata did anything relevant was the Chuunin Exams. The last time she appeared was some point after the Rescue Gaara arc and she only thought about how she wasn't ready to face Naruto yet and then she fainted.

I also kinda like KibaHina, and well it's not plausible at all LeeHina is one great crack pairing.

If I recall, she was worse off with fainting in Part II than she was in Part I.

I believe your right. As far as I can remember she has only fainted twice in the manga, once during Part I and once during Part II. She fainted in Part I when she went to see Naruto in the hospital after the Rescue Sasuke mission failed. Fainting her was understandable cause Hinata saw the person she idolized injured and covered with bandages. She fainted in Part II just because he was there. I know the Part II faint was probably just for comedic purposes but I can't help but be afraid that poor Hinata hasn't developed much in three years. Ah well, she's still better than Filler Hinata

Nawh, she isn't bad in the fillers. I loved the episode in which she was practicing in the water when Naruto stumbled upon her. That cracked me up.
You saw a little more of her character in Episode 190. Then again, the fillers mean squat for character.

Didn't the fillers make Hinata so obsessed with Naruto that she made food that looked like him? Oh and I'd probably appreciate the humor of that Water Practice scene if I didn't lurk on NarutoFan and see all the Hinatards that went on about how sexy she was, and how they wished they were in Naruto so they could have sex with her. Plus she's twelve so that scene was kinda creepy.

Yeah, there was an Arc that had Hinita cook riceballs that looked like Naruto. *lol* It was corny, but I was entertained. These days it doesn't take much for me to laugh like a hyena.
Writers don't write things out of the blue. Okay, sometimes they do, but usually there is a meaning. I bet there was some research done, and they found that most people liked Hinata. That is why she is in a bunch of the fillers.

I'm not so sure, from what I've heard NaruHina isn't all that popular in Japan and that's probably were most of their research would have been done. NejiHina and I think even KibaHina are more popular. Of course I could be wrong. I still wish the fillers were better though, the only one I really liked was the one were Team 7 tried to remove Kakashi's mask.

You're right. NaruHina isn't that popular. Also I checked some old Japanese character popularity polls, and Sakura was always higher than Hinata.

Hinata on the other had had a crush (or hero worship depending on who you ask) in Part 1, but has not really gone anywhere since, meaning they can play with this some (like the rice balls) without creating a high risk of screwing up the story line. I haven't seen that one, but I bet while there are moments in that episode, in the end, Naruto is still oblivious and still likes Sakura, which is consistent with the current story line. You might say, what about Ino and Tenten? Well, they had no real interaction and there is no indication that they like him. To have it happen now would alter this (especially with Ino, who may like Sai now). Moreover, as someone pointed out, Hinata's obsession can be used as a joke device for good laughs.I don't watch the anime very much so I have not seen that many fillers, but from what I gather, their main thrust is comedy anyway. So it works out well for the writers.
Might the writers favor Hinata as a personal preference? Possibly, but we really have no way knowing unless they come out and say this. On the polls, how does Hinata compare with other girls? For the reasons above they cannot mess with Sakura too much, so, in a sense, she is off limits. It could be a poll thing if Hinata is second in the female list. In any case, I think its more the reason I stated at the beginning of this post than anything else.
If the "sexy water episode" is the one I am thinking of, I have a question. Did Naruto even figure out it was her? From talking to Puck, I got the impression he did not. I know this is sometimes cited as evidence, but not only is it just filler (and thus, really non-evidence), if he never knows its her, all it shows is that he thought the silhouette of some girl was sexy. It says nothing about how Naruto views Hinata if he never puts two and two together. I with Aethos on this, I really don't consider NaruHina a likely couple. At least not right now. If you notice, the debaters are reliant on two things (1) filler, and (2) the Chuunin exams. As I've said filler does not count (neither does NaruSaku filler). On the second, that was a long time ago and the most telling thing about it is the fact that they can sight to almost nothing since that point. Only two things can be cited (1) watching Naruto leave and (2) the fainting episode, neither of which indicate any significant development. Naruto's feelings were the same before and after both of these incidents. Moreover, they appear to be same at both those incidents (I'm deriving this based on her lack of presence through the latter half of part 1 since he does not know she did this), demonstrating a lack of development. We know Hinata likes/worships Naruto, all these things do is confirm the obvious. There is no indication that the Naruto side has developed at all, which is where the biggest weakness in the pairing lies.

No, he did not. When he was talking about his experience to Kiba and Shino, Hinata was instantly embarassed because she knew Naruto was talking about her.

If its already a fact that hinata admires naruto(databook), has never really wanted to date naruto, etc, why do the hardcore naruhina fans say she does love him, and that love is true love?
I have no idea why............
