(I originally intended to post this announcement a few days ago, but things were happening on this thread I didn't want to break in on. Now, it seems things have calmed down enough to make it)
Team 05 has dissolved... at least temporarily. This is because one of our players (the jounin) had to leave for over a month, and later another decided to drop their character because he felt the character was too broken to continue playing (I disagree with that -- I think any character that has been created can be played without being too broken or too Mary Sueish if you play them right -- but that's niether here nor there). With just two of us playing three characters (two original team members and a jounin-type of character I'd created on a gag and brought in as a substitute when our first jounin left), we quickly realized continued play was untenable.
Therefore, Akira (played by Gaara), Sakana-san, and Sakana Menrui (both Sakanas played by yours truly) are all currently, um, in 'training.' In my case, while I don't want to start over on a new team, I may be willing to play through a certain mission with one or both of my characters.
Read their profiles if you so desire on the character thread, but quick summaries of their characters:
Sakana-san: Menrui's mother, owns a noodle-centered yatai. Widow. A former ANBU and Elite Jounin who recently came out of retirement in order to help her son on a difficult mission. Kage-level master of elemental techniques, although may prove a bit rusty if called to face a real elite ninja in their prime. Has additional skills (demonstrated knowledge of Shizune's needle-spitting technique on the recent mission, for example), but again is likely to be rusty in difficult situations.
Sakana Menrui: Recent Academy graduate who is old for a rookie genin. Uses a variety of ramen-centered techniques in honor of his late father, who was assassinated for still unknown reasons a bit more then a year ago. Generally has a good head on his shoulders, but may be a bit overcautious at times. Ideal chakra control, but still has insufficient stamina.
If Gaara wishes to advertise the same, I invite him to do so. If you want the services of one or both of my characters (played by me, of course), I ask that you PM me. (I do check this thread on occasion, but since I haven't been playing around here much for a while, not often any more. By the time I find out I've been invited, if you try posting here, you'll probably already have finished the mission)
(Edit) P.S.: While it should be obvious from the above, I also reserve the right to refuse to participate in a mission if I don't like the sound of it... heh.
