I very much agree... which is why I find it so astounding that he added ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (well, almost -- I suppose a larger version of the rasengen counts as something, but just barely) to his technique base, from what we've seen, in the years he spent with Jiraiya. Strains credulity, that one, so I'm not too happy with Kishimoto about that. If I were starting this same fic from scratch, I'd have to explain that apparent logical inconsistancy somehow.

to be honest Desaix thats why i prefer your version myself. it strains credibility to belive that for two and half years jiraiya did nothing but tweak the seal, and peep on women. I mean jeebus he'd be better off in konoha with kakashi teahcing him if that were the case.

It easier to believe we simply havent seen everything from him that we could. Situations that have arisen leaves it open to the interpretation that he hasnt shown us even a fraction of what hes capable of yet.

btw just started rereading this fic just because i failed to find another naruto fiction with this caliber of writing. Are there any recommendations for similar narusaku fanfictions?

You know, there are times when I've read every decent (at least in my opinion) NaruSaku fic and find myself re-reading Training for the Job as well (among others). What can I say? I need my NaruSaku fix .

If you haven't already read it, I would highly recommend Whirlpool Country by Paradox Jast. Even if it is not yet finished, it is epic length and definitely a good read for the characterizations and plot.

In addition, there are still a lot of really good NaruSaku fics that are currently in the works list on the The Great NaruSaku Fic Listing III. I'm sure you've looked through but just incase...

i find something new everytime i read training for the job. anyways thanks i have heard about whirlpool country, you say its lengthy which is exactly what i am looking for, hopefully means there is a lot of deep plot and no sudden "hey sasuke is gone, omg naruto i want you in me right now" as some other fics do.

Actually, yes. I'm investigating something right now, which may allow me to release a few chapters... but I can't promise anything right now, and I definitely won't be getting anything done until April 1st (there's a particular deadline there before I can get anything done on this possibility).

That particular deadline (or at least the results of it, which are critical towards my ability to resume work on any of my fanfiction) was bumped to May 5th. Depending on how that turns out, I could start posting new chapters shortly thereafter... although I'll need some set-up time for an additional project before that.

I'm very relieved to here about this. Ive read the Fanfiction twice now and i fail to loose interest in it. Do you know how long the new material is? I really like long Fics and since its been nearly a year and a half, i'm hoping it will be rather long. Do you have an estimated length?

I will say to start paying attention to my website in a few weeks time, as at least one part of the project I've been working on will be viewable there... and once that's up, I'll be able to start releasing a few chapters of my fanfics again (albeit very slowly, but they will be releasable). Until you start seeing new things go up there, though, the fic is still in limbo.

Okay, nothing new to report on the fic (everything is in a holding pattern right now; for me to start posting my fanfic again, I need to get the website thing up and running; to get the website thing up and running, I need to fill out some legal paperwork and get it approved; for me to fill out the legal paperwork and get it approved, I need to get the appropriate forms; for me to fill out the appropriate forms, my state government needs to send me some copies of the forms that cannot be submitted electronically; I have been waiting for the forms for three weeks now. Red tape is killing me).

However, I was scanning through some old thumb drives just a few minutes ago, and found a certain picture. This is the 'picture of doom,' as I call it -- it was on an old computer that died; a laptop that had a piece of the motherboard crack, preventing its battery from recharging; a back-up harddrive that died; a website on a privately owned server I was using freely by the owner's permission, but the 27 year old owner had a stroke and died, and so his server was shut down; on ff.net, which deleted it with no explanation; and on these boards, which lost it when the boards were moved to a new server a couple years ago; the original artist of the pic disappeared from the boards with nary a word shortly after sending it to me, and hasn't been heard from since.

However, this is the piece of fan-art for Training for the Job discussed in an old chapter that people have been bugging me for a copy of since it last disappeared from the internet two years ago, so -- risking life, limb, and these message boards, I present the fanart pic of doom.

Wow, stupid red tape. This is like one of the half dozen NaruSaku's I've ever read and really liked, and it's certainly the only one I care enough about to keep checking this board for. This addiction...it cannot be healthy.
