Still, the road to recovery requires proper follow-up; and I don't think remaking a couple of genre classics like Robocop and Poltergeist cut it.

So...is he bolting from Star Trek after into darkness?
And the Justice League Roster who will be battling Darkseid will be: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash.
They cut out Martian Manhunter, among others, But they picked a good group size. They are the most popular of the bunch.

There's still no confirmation on if he's really directing or not, so I'm still waiting for a statement on LucasArts or JJ Abrams, himself.
Guardians of the Galaxy (Which'll hopefully herald Thanos's big appearance) trying to get Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey:

And the list of possible JLeaguers for their big movie:

He's contracted for three Trek movies, so he'll still have one more to direct.

"It's very exciting to have J.J. aboard leading the charge as we set off to make a new Star Wars movie," said Kennedy. "J.J. is the perfect director to helm this. Beyond having such great instincts as a filmmaker, he has an intuitive understanding of this franchise. He understands the essence of the Star Wars experience, and will bring that talent to create an unforgettable motion picture."
George Lucas went on to say "I've consistently been impressed with J.J. as a filmmaker and storyteller." He's an ideal choice to direct the new Star Wars film and the legacy couldn't be in better hands."
"To be a part of the next chapter of the Star Wars saga, to collaborate with Kathy Kennedy and this remarkable group of people, is an absolute honor," J.J. Abrams said. "I may be even more grateful to George Lucas now than I was as a kid."
J.J., his longtime producing partner Bryan Burk, and Bad Robot are on board to produce along with Kathleen Kennedy under the Disney | Lucasfilm banner."
Also consulting on the project are Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg. Kasdan has a long history with Lucasfilm, as screenwriter on The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Return of the Jedi. Kinberg was writer on Sherlock Holmes and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Abrams and his production company Bad Robot have a proven track record of blockbuster movies that feature complex action, heartfelt drama, iconic heroes and fantastic production values with such credits as Star Trek, Super 8, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, and this year's Star Trek Into Darkness. Abrams has worked with Lucasfilm's preeminent postproduction facilities, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound, on all of the feature films he has directed, beginning with Mission: Impossible III. He also created or co-created such acclaimed television series as Felicity, Alias, Lost and Fringe.

Although, now I'm interested what story they'll tell after ROTJ?
I kinda hope others will start making movies on the SW universe as well, like that rumored "Seven Samurai set in the SW universe" project that was disproven several weeks back.
I'd totally love it if they basically have Samurai! but with Lightsabers! stuff goin' on.... Even though the Jedi are pretty much samurai, themselves.
Probably because I just love Lightsaber duels.

Already have the new titles: Star Wars Episode VII: Trek into the New Republic.

Many of the people confirmed to be involved have said that they are (with the new trilogy) going to focus on a whole new cast of characters and story. I hope to heck that is true. Lucas himself has said that episodes 1-6 was the story of Vader, and that story is now over and there is no where left to go with it. I totally agree with that. I'm sure the new trilogy might take place in the kind of "after-math" or the environment that was a consequence of the events of ROTJ. For example, maybe the trilogy focuses on a couple of jedi padawans at the newly re-established Jedi Temple in the wake of the entire galaxy being freed from the Empire. A new government is finding it's footing and perhaps the villan sees a chance to extort the time of change and uncertainty.
I also just heard about the spin-off movies they announced that would focus on adolescent Han Solo and another on Boba Fett. At first this makes me very uneasy but I think because there have been no Star Wars (full-feature) spin-offs before. There is already a lot of differences from what Star Wars was in the past so it just adds to making me nervous. But then I realize it's all kind of inconsequential and they might be kick-butt movies which is cool, and if it all sucks, whatever.

Definitely looking forward to Iron Man 3 and Star Trek Into Darkness, and Man of Steel should hopefully be good.

I'm really looking forward to The Wolverine in July. I'm a huge fan of X-Men and of course Wolverine is my favorite. I also think the story arc they are visiting in this one is a cool one.

at least the Soviet Union posed an actual threat. North Korea is a joke to me.
here's a movie discussion. With how much I enjoyed Skyfall, I have recently gone and watched the 1960s Bond movies, Dr. No, Goldfinger, etc. I was confused when people I talked to about Skyfall said that Skyfall was disappointing because it lacked the qualities of a 'classic' bond movie. I don't know why anyone would want the so-called bond movie traits considering every bond movie I had seen, excluding Casino Royale and Skyfall, were terrible. So i went to watch the original ones since they might shed some light on this attachment. Maybe it is because of people's strong nostalgia that they demand otherwise bad movies.
Are people sensing that Skyfall traded in the cheesy absurdity for dynamic characters and meaningful subject matter?

I never really saw Skyfall lacking the 'classic Bond movie' characteristics. If anything, it's a return to those characteristics after being absent from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Skyfall saw the return of a Q, gadgets (even if it's not really anything like that exploding pen or awesome watch), a gadget-car, it's even the famous DB5! We also have a flamboyant supervillain with a physical deformity with an equally flamboyant plan and, by the end:
I've always thought, after watching Skyfall, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall were the origin stories that lead to this James Bond being similar to the older Bonds, though probably more grittier/serious/less extravagant than the other Bonds. After all, as Q said, "Were you expecting an exploding pen? We don't really go in for that anymore."
