Hey everyone i've been reading the arguments on here and i thought i should throw in my opinion on it. While i will admit that i was OUTRAGED after reading this chapter because of the whole sakura confessing AGAIN scenario but after reading through it again i actually cannot see how this is a step forward for SS in fact its a HUGE step back and may even be what finally sinks the ship.

 

Sakura is clearly very pissed off when she gave her 'love' speech which is something we have never seen, she shrinks and acts submissive pretty much every other time they meet in part 2 but for her to get genuinely angry and heartbroken? that has to indicate something even if she doesn't understand it herself.

 

While ill bet that many SS fans will argue that he still cares about her due to the fact that he didn't kill her when he could have done so easily the fact that he mindkittened her into thinking he did kill her is a huge blow to the ship and not to mention he stated himself that he absolutely does not love her at all and that she a complete idiot for loving him, even asking how she could love him which is a question NS shippers have been asking for 600+ chapters! also he could have just knocked her out normally instead using that genjutsu but i think he did so to let it sink into her head when she wakes up that he does not love her.

 

Hagoromo's speech is used by SS shipper's to try and justify SS by saying that sasuke will regain his love through sakura but his speech is about love lost between siblings and and hatred forming between friends, it shows madara who lost his little brother and blamed harashima, it shows sasuke who lost his brother and blames the whole ninja system itself and it also shows sakura as well, but what about obito? he lost love too and hated the world because of it but the one he lost was rin who he loved romantically not in a familial way so he was not included in this speech.

I think this may be another hint that sakura's feeling are now familial and she has yet to realise it.

 

Another reason i believe SS is doomed is because of the upcoming movie, the sketches released show sasuke alive and well pretty much spoiling the outcome of this so called final battle but from his outfit he is clearly not in the leaf village anymore, he is wearing a turban and desert gear instead of a leaf headband SS can argue he's wearing on his arm or waist but no he is clearly still a rogue ninja, and naruto and the rest seem pretty happy with their lives so we can hope Sakura finally learn's her lesson by then

 

Sakura's confession could also be considered one last desperate attempt to get through to sasuke, she cannot let go of the past and is burdened by feeling's for a boy who no longer exist's hence sasukes " chains of a broken past" line and since he used his genjustu to quite literally reach into her chest and break her heart she may finally FINALLY move on 

 

 

in the end i believe NS will come out on top, it has too much buildup for us to start doubting it now and SS has very little foundation aside from a few moments in part 1 still all we can do is support NS and wait til it finally becomes official :)

I thought about how the execution of NS will be believable or near plausible at this point. And no, Sakura falling in love with Naruto in the next few chapters isn't going to work. There is a very common scenario used in dramas and manga which is: already in love but haven't realized/misunderstood for someone else. Which will go in line with Kakashi's comment of Sakura's love changing a few chapters back.

In this scenario, Sakura "thinks" that she is in love with Sasuke, but a certain event will happen which makes her realize that this isn't love and the one she loved all along was Naruto. I don't know HOW it will be executed. Maybe, Sakura will see Naruto nearly dead when she's hopeless to do anything about it and realize how big his existence means to her, or maybe she herself will nearly die and in a flashback she can only think of how she will miss Naruto, or maybe after Sasuke gets redeemed and Sasuke is nice to her she realizes that Sasuke's smile can never brighten up her day like Naruto's does. Actually, there are many possible scenarios. I think there is a way that NS will be a tad more believable even at this point of the manga.

This is supported by Kishi's databooks too

 

"When she was younger, the one Sakura yearned for then loved, was Sasuke. Naruto was merely a nuisance, the loser who always came between her and Sasuke. But as she goes over the various missions in the past, and Sakura comes to a realization. When times were hard, when she wanted to give up on life, it was always that nuisance, Naruto, who protected and encouraged her. How does she feel about Naruto? Sakura still has not found the answer.""

 

I bet he is going to have Sakura come to a realization about her feelings for Naruto or something

I just don't like how Sakura confessed to Sasuke right in front of Naruto, he was there for her and he was there for Kakashi too, but Kakashi outright supported her feelings for Sasuke. I understand Sakura but Kakashi....? Sasuke probably stabbed her because he doesn't want her to love him, even Sasuke is confused on why she loves him, forget about that i think even Kishi is confused. I still like NS even if it doesn't become canon, i just don't see Sakura changing, the only one who will change is Sasuke, because Naruto is so confident it seems cocky and Hagoromo has faith in him too

ohh well u know how much sakura loved sasuke its just not so damn easy for her to move on, leaving sasuke back. And what ever she said about she loved her or loves her it doesnt means the end of the world . And besides if she wouldnt have said that the SS resolving would have gotten much more difficult later on. So in a way kishi is finally making sakura to see thd truth. There is a limit for everybody to say enough sakura didnt had that time beefore as she thought sasuke has feelings for her so she can turn him back good but now she knows what actually sasuke thinks. Its now her time to say enough sasuke no more being a nice lady!!! .

Here what i imagined when i saw the angry face of sakura. I thought that she would say
: i loved u once when u were a good lad. I usef to love the sasuke who cared for his team for his village. Who protected naruto who protected me. And here we are watching a sasuke filled with hatrate and wildness. Why r you doing this. And u r telling to kill naruto the one u cared for that much!! The one who went through many troubles and made many sacrifices for u even his own feeling for u. How could u turn out like this.

Well u know uhhh kinda drama type .
But then i saw what she said i was dissappointed too. I am a narusaku fan since i was 8 been watching this manga for 9 years . I can understand what u r feeling. But be patient my friend cuZ kishi has a wild imagination. Thats why i like his writings. He would defenitely do something good which will give one heck of a boost to narusaku. Like he did on pain arc first he made hinata confess then in the end there were only naruto and sakura. He did the same thing in 630 the hand holding scene. But still in the end there was no hinata . U will see he will do the same thing there will be no sasuke between narusaku. Only pure and true feelings of naruto and sakura would make narusaku the best canon. Do u know why i am saying that. The fruit which u get by lot of pain and difficulties is the sweetest fruit ever.

And to my this theory and NS being a canon there are a lot of proofs in which paralla theory is the most effective one
.so in the end of this LAP my point is NS is the ultimate and final solution of this unsolved equation which wont be unsolved for long.

Sakura could be the type of person that when they fall in love, they fall in love hard. I know there's actually people like that in real life, so I can understand.

But how did she even fall for him? They never went on any dates in part 1 and while he may hav accepted her as a friend they were pretty much separated for the second half of part 1 anyways. Sasuke went to train with Kakashi, than after the Third's funeral he chased after Itachi and was put into a coma. When he woke up he was still as Douchey as ever. He flipped out and knocked the apples out of her hand. 

 

I don't even believe that her love for him in part one was even justified. Where is the development? Where is the mutual feelings? How did she go from crush to love when they never even went on a single date?  Why does Kishi hate logic so much?

Kishi has described Sasuke as an arbitrary love object of Sakura in his character sketches meaning there is no reason behind it

This panel just pisses me off. It was great to hear that she was still in love with him this whole time "just great". She might as well say kitten you Naruto because this panel just screwed up her confession to Naruto long ago.

 

Even Kakashi was supporting her lust for Sasuke. Good job Kakashi, you're the coolest guy ever!

I said this before I'll say it again: this chapter is just as bad as chapter 685. Now I started to realize that the romance in the story is a complete clusterkitten.

 

Edit: To be honest, now I don't really care about the pairings anymore, I'm gonna just focus on the story. Im not giving up on NaruSaku, I just don't care about the romance and Kishi's BS anymore.

That's assuming however that Mangastream's translation is the closest, not Mangapandas. The raws will provide the truth when they are released

I thought Sakura was past being desperate? I thought she was more mature now....

 

she wants to be on Naruto and Sasuke's level...but she begs instead of taking action like the boys.

 

even if all she could do is support Naruto in the fight.....that would be enough. She knows Naruto won't kill Sasuke...so helping Naruto would have been the best solution.

It is plausible. She could be lying, because really she just wants them all to be happy together. She doesn't want either of them to die, does she?

He didn't react when she "confessed" to Naruto but to Sasuke, he was about to break down himself. Kishi ruined the development she had with Naruto, he failed to make her forget Sasuke. Naruto also pissed me off this chapter, because he didn't care, he didn't care when she confessed, he didn't care when Kakashi supported her and he didn't care when Sasuke placed her under genjutsu.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Reading that translation of it makes the love seem a little more abstract, and not so focused on Sakura's affections and personal wishes. But more about Team 7 and their bond. And you could connect the dots from Kakashi's speech about Sakura's strong feelings and the she's still able to care after everything that happen, then this chapter could be seen as Sakura reaching out through her feelings while Naruto only reaches him through fighting.

 

I hate to say it, but I think something this subtle — personal love vs. an abstract team love — might go down to the differences in translation.

You're overlooking things, that could have been plausible before Kakashi started to rant bs, Kakashi did not once state or talk about team 7, he talked about Sakura and her alone, instead of that she could have mentioned both Sasuke and Naruto and asked them to stop fighting but nope, she acts 12. Don't get your hopes up

God I wish LadyGT was the creator of the Naruto franchise. Her romance subplots are a million times better than Kishi's. 

 

Seriously, Sakura really needs a psychiatrist... including Hinata and Karin.
