SasuSaku reminds me about a couple from a popular Russian musical based on Dragonlance, Sasuke resembles Raistlin Majere (who had a Narutolike brother) and Sakura - Crysania, the priestess who fell in love with him, saved Raistlin from Darkness and later was sacrificed for the greater purpose. But unlike Sasuke Raistlin manipulated Crysania in the worst possible way because apparantly she proved useful in his power quest and then... useless.

Russian-speaking shippers may enjoy these songs:

http://pleer.com/tracks/4407250ZgXj

http://pleer.com/tracks/4539720cKUv

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I LOVE Dragonlance books, I LOVED Raistlin when I was a teen, adored him with all his flaws, I had SUCH high hopes for Crysania and Raistlin's relationship. And it turned out devastating. It was an ugly and broken relationship, though it was well written and understandable (imho). It has pained me helluva lot, but I understood why the author chose to develop it that way. I still wanted to forget all about it and it left me sick and unhappy.

You've made a great comparison. Crysania was so selfish and stupid in the way she adressed her feelings and conveyed them to Raistlin. She hardly managed to influence him at all, being used over and over again, trying to change him just by being there. She didn't see him at all, she was adressing some kind of distorted version of Raistlin, while passively waiting for him to answer her feelings. How could she change his ways, his suffering? She was the most short-sighted character ever and I loved how she lost her eyes to finally acquire true vision and understanding. I never understood what Raistlin himself saw in her, except for her beauty and that she was a woman, who actually chose to stay by his side. Though I almost cried when he said in sequels that he dreamt about her while being tormented.

You've made a great comparison.

Still Dragonlance was very well-written. This manga is not. Because it is different by default. We have a shounen here, not a big "realistic" story. This manga is aimed at a younger audience. We don't need so much ugly truth about how hearts are being broken, abused and never repaired. We don't need to see people choose unhappiness just how a lot of us do for different reasons. We don't need to see how everyone ends up miserable and unappreciated. Do you imagine Sakura ending up chasing after Sasuke, who made her miserable all this time, and Naruto heart-broken, having to give up and settle for his second choice - Hinata, and Hinata being miserable, because she is not the one he wanted? This is not the kind of endings shounen mangas should have, not what we are reading it for.

For a shounen story, I believe, it is a bad writing.

EDIT: Jeez, those songs reminded my of my feelings towards that story too much. Ahhhh. Мне больше всего нравится песня "Властелин Ничего".

I think you guys are too depressed. We are not sure if Sakura said this in past or present tense 'love(ed)'. But i agree that her dialogue in last chapter was had no progress in her story. She just turn back and go when she was in academy. Naruto want Sasuke back but we know that in movie he will be still rogue ninja so conclusion. Naruto win fight but not bring him back. So no SS for sure

It is revealed that it is in present tense, that's why.

Is this accurate?

No.

Such a statement exists in the context that Sakuras character was developed later on, but the text you've posted is twisted around so that it fits NaruHina.

Sadly I do not have a source for the original statement ...

Hello Heaven and Earth!

I am a new user- and just to be clear, I will post on this site very rarely. The only time I'll post is to reply or when I feel I got something BIG on my mind. I do frequently stalk this forum, (you guys are a very insightful bunch), and I just want to throw in my two cents on this chapter because I feel something BIG approaching. And nobody realizes this possibility.

Please read- this could bring back some hope for some of you:

I know everyone here is pretty disappointed in Sakura, and I was too after reading this issue. Not so much because of the feeling in her confession but because it doesn't make sense.

Everyone reading this issue should be surprised- angry- bewildered- disappointed- thoughtful- overjoyed - (or indifferent if they really don't care about the story.)

A majority of the fandom has provoked an interesting reaction. The kind any writer would want to keep his readers anxious for more.

What makes this even greater is that many of you don't realize- the possibilities.

I'm not saying I'm right, I'm not trying to make a promise...I'm just bringing up a possibility.

(the only reason I read this manga is for the Narusaku. Nothing else. I don't care for the slow and butchered storyline of Kishis- the only thing in here I find the most interesting and developed is Narusaku. So don't expect me to say much about the manga storywise. I started reading at the start of the war arc- I've looked over every NS moment in the manga - I find Sakura's character very complex: and I stand by her the most because of how underrated and misunderstood she is in the fandom.

Let's all talk about some POSITIVE WHAT-IFS. I'll start. This came to me after reading a post on Tumblr.

What if Sakura's confession is a LIE? (This is not the first time she's manipulated a scenario)

What if she is planning something?

What if she was testing Sasuke?

One thing I know this manga is famous for is the face panels- to me, Kishi is good at showing expression- and panels enlarged on a characters face is a sign of significance. Look back on this issue (I don't know how to post images). Before Sakura's 'confession' we see a page featuring her emotions. Of confusion, sadness and then...rage. Something different.

You were probably hoping that she'd do something brave like tell of Sasuke or fight him. I was hoping for that too.

But instead we see her pouring out the last bit of energy she has. Her desperation to bring back Sasuke- and we don't get to see her face immediately either, just a back view.

In those panels that showed her changes in emotion- isn't there also a panel of Naruto looking to the side. Is he looking at her? I think so, because Sasuke is in front of him. He's thinking too- it looks as if he's expecting a reaction from someone, but isn't too sure, and Sakura speaks her mind quite often. Than in the next panel she looks sad- but it also looks like she's pondering. "What can I do?"

And than the rage face- she is mad, but maybe she also has an idea.

One beautiful thing about how her back is turned in the next panel is that we can't read her expression. We don't know what it is. It could be anything. We see her face again and she's screaming out her feelings. Before going on, she has a flashback of her first confession to Sasuke- right at the scene when Sauske said 'thanks'.

What happened after Sasuke told her thanks- after that first confession? He knocked her out. (I don't know if it's a genjutsu or whatever) And she remembers it now- it seems important that she does, flashbacks are significant in the manga.

Than she pours out feelings, screaming with rage. But...I can't help to shake the feeling that she's forcing herself to say all these words. Anything could be happening here, but it's possible she is tempting him. Finally, Sasuke calls her annoying, and places a genjutsu on her.

As I've heard, Sakura can break free from a genjutsu fairly easily. But her final expressions afterward- SHOW NO SIGN OF SURPRISE OR SHOCK. It's like she expected him to do this.

And I've read elsewhere that there is still an issue going on regarding Madara's eyes, and Sasuke.

If my predictions are correct, Sakura might wake up and get some work done. Because Sasuke left with Naruto- he's out of the way now.

Sasuke made it clear he was going to leave with Naruto. Kakashi tried to stop him, but couldn't; then our eyes were darted at Sakura.

And she probably had an idea. Hoping that if she provoked Sasuke enough he'd either change his mind- or repeat what he did in the past. Thinking he left her in the dust after his attack, he doesn't know that when she wakes up she'll follow the rest of her plan through. She will leave with the other guys to do something, while Naruto fights Sasuke- buying her some time.

Boom! A possibility! List some more everyone. Study her face and see if you can find something out.

Do any of you Narusaku fans have faith in Sakura- the heroine- to do something this clever? Have you forgotten that she doesn't trust Sasuke- and every moment between those two- their expressions- is still significant? Kishi has surprised this fandom several times- don't be surprised if he does it again. We have not seen the full potential of her new power- she tried it once but it was a miss. Would Kishi really leave his heroine in the dust- after all these years of development? I don't think so. I think he cares for her character, I believe so, and wants something big to happen- something to WOW us.

And if I'm wrong- well, that's okay. I still have faith in Narusaku. Sakura will change in someway after she wakes up.

Do you like my theory, or do you have something better? I am open for debates- and I hope I gave you guys an idea of what could happen after.

Okay, so... does anybody have any theories/ideas on how NaruSaku is going to be cannon right now?

As in, without it appearing as though Naruto is Sakura's silver medal after what just transpired in this chapter.

I would love to hear my fellow NS supporters ideas.

NS is still endgame and will happen. The fact that Minato and Kushina gave NS their blessing and then dissappeared forever is plot armor that at this moment can't be dealt with by NH or SS

I know that, I don't have any doubts that it will be the end game.

I just want to know what my fellow shippers have in mind, as in how will it be cannon without being in the "silver medal" situation.

The way things are going now I think the whole point of Kishi re-establishing Sakura as being in love with Sasuke is supposed to fall i line with kakashi saying she can't give up on him. I believe where this is headed is what happened in the OVA she'll likely have to make a choice to save Sasuke or Naruto and she will end up choosing Naruto to save.

I've had a lot of Ideas, but I think I'll gonna stick with this one:

Sakura will realize that she can handle to loose Sasuke, but can't handle to loose Naruto.

Maybe in Genjutsu-World.

Maybe Yamato shows up again.

Maybe we'll get the OVA scene.

It was a very stony place and Sasuke and Naruto were fighting on the water.

It would be a possibility.

Do you like my theory, or do you have something better? I am open for debates- and I hope I gave you guys an idea of what could happen after.

Your style of writing is somewhat...professional. I don't know, it feels like reading an engaging article.

I actually thought about this possibility a lot tonight, while I was trying to fall asleep. I understand very well where you are coming from. I thought about this strange feeling that I had - the feeling of disrupted continuity between pages of Sakura's determined face and her latter actions (pleading, confession). I felt that I just can't put these pieces together no matter how much I try. I couldn't give up on this impression of NEW and DIFFERENT Sakura back then on that very page that was latter suddenly and strangely "disproven" by her pleading (If it was present tense pleading, it is even more strange). I too felt this rising hope that Sakura might still have something up her sleeve.

I also thought that she could trick them all (and us). After all she is known to be able to do this - remember her false confession to Naruto and her false "I'll come with you" to Sasuke right after, when she intended to kill him. Remeber even her punch, when Sai told some bad things about Sasuke. She stoped Naruto and when Sai put his guard down, she striked. This is important - Sakura has been repeatedly shown by Kishimoto to be a girl who can twist her own feelings in order to achieve something (even if unsuccessfully). She has used her feelings and other person's feelings to get closer and change something, whether those were good intentions with Naruto or murderous with Sasuke. Kishimoto is certainly able to write her that way. And if there is a time to show Sakura at her full capacity (with her genjutsu prowness or ability to lie), it is now.

Both Kakshi and Naruto in those panels seemed to expect something from her, some sort of action. And they seemed somewhat downcast with what happened next.

I don't know what she could do, but she might be able to do something. We might see this chapter as a final blow to Sakura's development as a character, but there is a little chance that Kishimoto actually knows what his fandom wants to see in Sakura, what his fandom saw in all those years of development, or maybe just what he himself wants to do to make this girl a true heroine. He has certainly developed her, he gave her all those moments  of power, there is a chance he might give her one more, ultimate moment, concentrated on her main point of conflict - Sasuke. Do we really need to see Naruto bring down Sasuke on his own? Wouldn't it be a nice confirmation of the power of his "loving" path if his comrade joined him to support him at some point? Wouldn't it be a great blow to Sasuke's main weakness, that comes from his ideology, - his will to be separated from any connections?

Why I think that chances are slim?
1 - I think that Kishimoto sees Sakura's strength in the way she keeps chasing Sasuke and doesn't give up on him. After all this manga is about not giving up. Sakura was first stated as a loveable character (by Naurto) when she confessed she is serious in her pursuit. Kishi doesn't think that she needs a reason to love Sasuke, he doesn't consider it superficial. He wants to portray her as a stubborn and kind girl, who just doesn't know how to give up. Just like Naruto. That is why Sakura's expression of determination on that page could mean that she still has strength to not give up on Sasuke, that is what Kishimoto could try to convey. Anyone could give up, but she just didn't by pure resolve.

2 - Her flashback (scene in Part 1). As far as I can tell, flashbacks usually express what the person is thinking about at that moment. This flashback could mean that she is forseeing Sasuke's actions - his intention to knock her out like before. But most likely it expresses her being absorbed by the moment. It is hard not to believe her expression in that scenes. After all she can lie about her feelings, like I said before, but Sai and Naruto have demostrated that it shows on her face. She could be saying truthful things, but plotting something at the same time, but it seems overcomplicated.

3 - Her feelings actually are relevant in the fight to return Sasuke. Even if they don't affect him directly, they may influence Sasuke's decisions once Naruto cracks him open. I am not saying that Sasuke would realize that he has some sort of mutual feelings, but he could at least appreciate them. That is why we also can't argue that this whole repetitive Sakura's confession scene itself was "unneccessary for the plot, so we have to consider other options".

3 - Genjutsu. It was hard to forsee actually. Whatever she could be plotting, I wonder how she could deal with such an attack. She seems to be out cold, so any plan she might have had seems to be disrupted, which would be unlikely if Kishimoto wanted to give her some moment of power.

4 - Valley of the End. She doesn't know where Naruto and Sasuke are right now. She wasn't there in Part 1, she has never heard about it as far as manga material shows. Kakashi could tell her about that place, but does he himself know they would head there? Lucky guess? Yes, it is a very meaningful location, but it is hardly the only meaningful one. I'm not saying it is impossible, but it felt like Sasuke was saying "you know what I'm talking about" to cut out all possible interventions.

5 - Kishimoto. I just don't trust this guy. He can do any dumb kitten and we'll just have to roll with it. I believe that he is capable to make this scene the last Sakura's development. I believe that he is capable of throwing years of material away. I believe that he is capable to just leave an open ending or to have Sakura chase after Sasuke for all eternity. I believe that all our insights based on studying this manga can be completely useless as long as Kishi keeps some rigid ending in mind.

Welcome to H & E :)

I think your theory is pretty interesting. And weirdly enough it makes sense. Everything we've had regarding Sakura's feelings: her distrust in Sasuke, her negativity towards Sasuke, and her growing feelings toward Naruto. I wouldn't expect them all to end in Sakura loving Sasuke? It was out of desperation. She was testing him and all... but isn't that the exact same thing she did with Sasuke in her confession in Part 1? Except this time it feels like she's not doing out of love for him, more out of the sake of getting Sasuke back.

I'm still a little unsure of what your saying, but I hope your right about Sakura. I don't want to lose her that quickly.

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.

Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.

I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

I know that, I don't have any doubts that it will be the end game.

I just want to know what my fellow shippers have in mind, as in how will it be cannon without being in the "silver medal" situation.

As much as it hurts to write this, but there seems no way now which will be believable and make Naruto not look like a silver medal. I also have confidence that NS will happen or their will be an open ending but believe it, NARUTO WILL BE A SILVER MEDAL if NS happens now.

Kishi just showed how selfish Sakura can be(this chapter proved sakura confession to Naruto fake) and how she just can't let go of Sasuke romantically. All the NS moments we thought which may have some romantic sense in Sakura POV was proved false. It was just a friendly/sisterly or such type of caring love. Not a romantic love at all.

First of all, there is a chance due to the upcoming timeskip. Right now NS is impossible without Naruto being a rebound, even if Sakura had feelings for him for a long time now. (I myself don't believe in loving two men at the same time. But all of my friends do.) The LAST movie can bring us a natural resolution. In two years or more Sakura will no longer be in critical state, heart-broken. She will focus on her career and her friendships. She will find some peace. If NS happens in the MOVIE, it would be great.

I don't think that Sakura's new confession has destroyed her romantic interactions with Naruto. The fact that she still chooses Sasuke doesn't mean she only loves him. There is a big difference between love and acting upon it. I don't think this is the case, but it would even be possible for Sakura to choose Sasuke while loving Naruto more. Because she thinks that saving Sasuke is her duty.

I think Naruto's feelings get the worst of the treatment because he has to sit there and watch all of this happen. He has to sit there and watch the girl he loves get heartbroken over another guy, when he's literally thrown his happiness out of the window so that she might be happy. I feel like Naruto's feelings for Sakura get treated like a joke, and that she really hasn't given his feelings the proper attention. Imagine how Naruto felt standing there listening to that. And in the end, he's still going to get up and fight for her, as he told Kakashi.

I mentioned earlier in another thread how if SS were to happen, (which I don't think it will by the way, I still think NS is endgame) she would have literally used Naruto and played his feelings for her own gain. I would lose a lot of respect for her character. She still hasn't even said she was sorry to the guy for the whole debacle in the land of iron. I'm finding it harder and harder to believe that she honestly cares about his feelings in the slightest. I know that's not true, but it's hard not to feel that way a little bit.

Idk, the way Naruto's feelings are portrayed to me seems like it's ok for him to get yanked around and played with, and as unfair as Sakura's feelings are getting portrayed, I feel like Naruto is getting the worst of it.

Wow. You're totally right... Naruto really is an amazing guy, and to have him heartbroken like that over Sakura... is really upsetting. But Sakura feels the same way. She doesn't want Naruto to feel burdened by her, and she literally sobs over it. She wants to save Sasuke together with Naruto, but when that doesn't work she wants to get rid of Sasuke herself - and that doesn't work either, because she still wants to see the good in him! Sakura's feelings are starting to get confusing. Naruto and Sakura both want to be there for each other, but it just doesn't end up working. Part of the reason is Sasuke.

Naruto goes through pain with his girl, but I feel like Sakura goes through so much more. Loving Sasuke so much it hurts? And then with Naruto, trying to keep a smile on his face? Doesn't that classify a deeper selfless love? Rather than trying to find the good in a guy that doesn't even care. She cares strongly about them both. She loves them both, but it's so obvious that she feels more for Naruto. And Sasuke is still an image that she wants back.

SasuSaku isn't gonna happen... I'd rather have Naruto and Sakura to interact soon.

I'm pretty sure Sakura feels really strongly about Naruto's feelings. Much more than Sasuke's. But she just keeps messing up... I think both Naruto and Sakura's feelings are affecting them in a bad way. Naruto doesn't really show his pain that much, and it's not like his love for her takes over his whole character - but it definitely doesn't make him happy. But Sakura's feelings just affect her so negatively to a point where she loses her hope in life. She thinks she's useless, and Kishi knows perfectly well, that the reason why her character gets brought down is her feelings. Yet Kishi continues to force them on her. It's just not right..
