It still just feels that Kishi used this as a big swerve. Another obstacle and another hard left turn before he jumps back on the path he's always had in mind. This chapter did exactly what it was supposed to do, illicit a huge reaction from the reader.
That what he tends to do, it's an undeniable habit of his. He kind of enjoys screwing with the fanbase's expectations for the sake of shock value, only to later redeem himself later on.

Is it just me or do I like part 1 Sasuke over part 2 Sasuke?
Only my opinion, but I think most people liked Sasuke pre-timeskip. At the very least, he was tolerable and sympathetic. Now, I just want him to get a Rasenshuriken to the nuts.

I love Sasuke in both parts. Evil Sasuke along with good Sasuke, seemed to always look cool in his own way.

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.
Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.
I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

This is way worse than 615 or whatever that chapter was where Sasuke caught Sakura.
This was just a giant leap backward for her character. And we're not going to get resolution for this little step back until 5-10 weeks from now when this gay battle is finally over.
Lol. Gay battle xD

I hope that we actually learn what made Sakura hold strong feelings towards Sasuke in the first place, just like I wanna know why Naruto fell for Sakura. If Kishi can't at least give this, he will be one of the worst writers, Ive had the misfortune of knowing.( I'm not gonna get into how terrible his story has become, since I've stopped caring.)
The way things are looking, no pairing will occur. But, who knows what's gonna happen in the future chapters, seeing as nobody saw this chapter coming.

Naruto fell for Sakura because just like him she was seeking acknowledgement
Sakura fell for Sasuke because he's "cool".

You don't get it... Sakura's love for Sasuke was never real or true. It was selfish and done out of childish reasons. And in Part 2, it continues to get worse. It gets negative. She wants to have an affect on Sasuke, but she doesn't understand that her love for him will do nothing to him. She must've taken that thank you out of context... and so she still thinks there's still a good side left in Sasuke. But if it's love thats she thinks that is, then she's terribly wrong. And she's just hurting herself for no reason... She could easily move on from him, but I feel like she needs some sort of confirmation from him or something. I don't even get it. I think Sasuke doesn't even know what she sees in him.
This is kind of the point where I start hating on Kishi, for making Sakura's feelings completely worthless.

Just to kinda piggyback on your last statement, he's making Sakura feelings look worthless, but at the same time he's making Naruto's feelings look less than worthless.

I mean, what made Naruto like Sakura, before the bench scene, when at the time, she was just another Sasuke fangirl.
@Iwantbuns There are a lot of things, I let fly with Kishi's kitten writing, but until the end of the manga, I will not accept Sakura loving Sasuke for such a long time( which only did damage to her.), just to show the difference between her relationship with him and Naruto. That's utter bullsh*t.
Anyway, if NS does actually happen, the only way it can be somewhat satisfying, is if Sakura, while unconscious, reflects on her relationship, with both boys, finds guilt in her love of Sasuke, and her and Naruto actually talk about their relationship build up. However, this sadly seems like far too much for Kishi's standards, so at most a few flashbacks from Sakura, her waking up with resolve, Naruto confessing, Sakura asking if he's sure, and NS becoming canon.
It'll be cheap, it'll be shoddy, but then again, it's Kishi.

Because she was cute. He said this in her introduction.

Naruto's feelings are obviously important, but I feel like Kishi just sort of hates on Sakura, by making her have these feelings - even though Kishi KNOWS that Sasuke doesn't give a crap about her, and that her love for Sasuke makes no sense. That's why I feel like Kishi's making Sakura seem worthless, when she's obviously not. She has so much potential, and Kishi made that clear through her strength and everything. I'd rather have Sakura want to be single and stay awesome, but her love for Sasuke just brings her down! And Kishi knows it, yet he makes her have this love for him continue to exist! At this point Kishi is literally s**ting all over her. She'd better have a comeback moment soon. Really soon. I can't stand it when Sakura has to go through all this s**t for the sake of loving and caring about a guy that's way too lost in the dumps.

The reason he's tormenting her is because (he said this himself) the more trouble she goes through the more beautiful of a character she is or something like that (basically he compared her to cherry blossoms)
the problem is that he's repeating the same mistake he did with LOI and 540
Kishi's golden rule is that no character is allowed to progress until the very end.

I think Naruto's feelings get the worst of the treatment because he has to sit there and watch all of this happen. He has to sit there and watch the girl he loves get heartbroken over another guy, when he's literally thrown his happiness out of the window so that she might be happy. I feel like Naruto's feelings for Sakura get treated like a joke, and that she really hasn't given his feelings the proper attention. Imagine how Naruto felt standing there listening to that. And in the end, he's still going to get up and fight for her, as he told Kakashi.
I mentioned earlier in another thread how if SS were to happen, (which I don't think it will by the way, I still think NS is endgame) she would have literally used Naruto and played his feelings for her own gain. I would lose a lot of respect for her character. She still hasn't even said she was sorry to the guy for the whole debacle in the land of iron. I'm finding it harder and harder to believe that she honestly cares about his feelings in the slightest. I know that's not true, but it's hard not to feel that way a little bit.
Idk, the way Naruto's feelings are portrayed to me seems like it's ok for him to get yanked around and played with, and as unfair as Sakura's feelings are getting portrayed, I feel like Naruto is getting the worst of it.

No this isn't an actual quote, I'm poking fun at his stupidity in writing.

SasuSaku reminds me about a couple from a popular Russian musical based on Dragonlance, Sasuke resembles Raistlin Majere (who had a Narutolike brother) and Sakura - Crysania, the priestess who fell in love with him, saved Raistlin from Darkness and later was sacrificed for the greater purpose. But unlike Sasuke Raistlin manipulated Crysania in the worst possible way because apparantly she proved useful in his power quest and then... useless.

I think you guys are too depressed. We are not sure if Sakura said this in past or present tense 'love(ed)'. But i agree that her dialogue in last chapter was had no progress in her story. She just turn back and go when she was in academy. Naruto want Sasuke back but we know that in movie he will be still rogue ninja so conclusion. Naruto win fight but not bring him back. So no SS for sure

Is this accurate?
Factoring in some Shonen Jump reviews concerning early Naruto,
I think this might be the author's way of sticking it to Sakura. He was forced to create her by the editors of the magazine, and had no real intention of including someone like her. The original plan was to make Hinata the female lead cast as a damsel/princess type rather than a fighter, but the idea didn't go well with the higher-ups. Instead they requested a bolder female lead, more indicative of the genre.
