Gildharts seems to have aged 10 years in the past 365 day, I guess fining out you are a parent of  a 20 year old much make you age to look like you are father of a 20 year old.

 

I'm still confused with God Serena's entire point of existance in the manga, what was the point of introducing him as a former ally of Fiore who abandoned is country and jumped accross the border, and why was he made into an artificial dragon slayer with seven lacrima infused into him? He seems very much an oddity.

It's a fanservice.
Sometimes I think the criticism for ft is kinda overblown.
While I will never call this great manga, I will not call this a terrible manga either. Even with all the fanservice, asspull, and no death policy, I think the manga does a decent work for a fun manga. And so far it's not try to become something else.
That just my opinion thought.

Agreed 110% with the bold. I stopped paying attention to the people that slam fan service religiously. The same people that blast fan service in relation to female characters are the same ones that can't stop drooling over every guy that ever existed in certain stories. Take FT for instance, Gray always walks around with no shirt, Natsu might as well not have a shirt etc. You can count the number of males in FT that don't have a raging 6-pack on one hand, and most males you're able to constantly see their chest. Males get used as much as females when it comes to fanservice, it's just that they're men so nobody cares.

There are people even in the OP fandom who try to claim Oda uses a belligerent amount of fanservice, which is blatantly untrue (in fact, he doesn't use much at all). They complain about Nami being in a bikini top, but she's a dam pirate and spends most of her time on the ocean, what the hell else is she supposed to wear? A trench coat?

The issue around fanservice is so overblown. There are times when it's egregious, but most of the time it's people kittening to kitten, even though they'll sit there and praise people like Hiro for ever solid chest they see on a dude.

From what's been implied, he joined Zeref because it would give him a better chance to fight Acnologia. Of course, we all know how that turned out.... Quite frankly though, I'm hoping Gildarts' fight against him will be a good one. I've always considered him close to the 4 Gods' level, but now we can see if this is true.

I wanna say END!  takes the center stage as option 1. 

 

 

Option 2 would be something regarding maybe Erza and the identity of Eillen 

 

 

Option 3 possibly a character death! 

 

 

Option 4 it could be Mavis and Zera reunion. 

 

 

 

Between these 4 I'm willing to say it's either Option 2 or 3.

I just WANT TO KNOW the relationship between Eileen and Erza. Why are we being being held out on like this?

 

I love Mavis so what ever happens to her I'll be fine with. Even if she dies, because well it would be awkward having 2 Masters in the guild anyway and a together in death moment with Zeref would be nice (and reuniting with Zera too).

I liked the interactions between Zeref and Mavis in this chapter. There was legitimate consternation with Mavis' treatment. As for Eileen, don't give a rats ass about her, shes just another stunt to make Erza look stronger.

Also, it's pretty garbage that the Winter guy was able to get Natsu like that. Natsu is gonna end up fighting Zeref and Acnologia, yet something like that is able to stop him, only to make Grey look good? Kinda dumb.

Nah, I don't think Eileen is actually supposed as an excuse on Why Erza is so strong. That low point, ill-thought out reasoning had already hit rock bottom with the  "a ss pulls" that are done constantly, so her bloodline would not be saying much, Especially when you consider she's not using any powerful magic, Just requipping armor, and fights with just her weapons training and her natural strength. A lot of her recent victories were pulled out of the rear

Haven't seen anything aside from the cover page, but we are now two chapters away from reaching the 500 chapter milestone. Usually Hiro likes to do something big when it comes to the 100 chapter mark, I mean chapter 400 was the Igneel and Natsu reunion so you got to wonder what's it going to be this time since its Chapter 500.  

 

For one we know chapter 498 centers on Gray vs Invel, and if that's gonna be the case I'd say it has a chance of lasting this chapter and next chapter. I will go as far as saying Chapter 500 is when Invel gets defeated and somehow (not sure how) it gets revealed to Gray that Natsu is END.

Next chapter's title (499) is literally Gruvia. So, the Big 500 is E.N.D killing Juvia?? But there's no such thing as permanent death in this series, so as much as I want her to drop dead, we all know she'll be back. C'mon people, Gajeel?

Also, I've checked the big events in the previous milestone chapters, and the pattern goes like this:

101: Igneel and Grandine convo
200: Zeref's debut
301: Acno's origins
400: Igneel resurfaces
501: ?

So, we might not see things happening at 501 at the latest.
