OK now that the raws are out and we finally know what Kakashi and Sakura said. We can finally confirm something that we've speculating and saying for quite some time.

Kishimoto doesn't understand love and hate for that matter and he can't write female characters. Especially the main female character.

No the begging part doesn't suck anymore since she's just want to save him and not to pursue a relationship with him.

no...it still kinda sucks...I wanted a mature/confident Sakura supporting Naruto if he needed it....

I wanted Sasuke to die or not exist at all, but it doesn't mean we always get what we want.

Sure. Basically MS translation, but changing the part when Kakashi says "all she wants is to be yours" to "she wasn't wanting or trying to make you hers, she only wanted to save you". That's why we're happy XD

Wait a minute, So Viz's translation is suddenly the most reliable now? 

 

Before this chapter, I had seen comments here associating Viz's translation with words like 'unreliable', 'biased' and 'unprofessional'. This seemed to be the general opinion up until yesterday. 

 

Now people are accepting Viz just because its version is a little bit on the Pro NS side?

 

Our fandom seems to be just as fickle as NH/SS. Now its all positive again( which is good of course  ) But if there's something slightly threatening NS in the next chapter, I'm pretty sure it will be rage mode here again.  *sighs*

No, we are not acepting VIZ because is "pro-narusaku" or something. We are "acepting" VIZ because, for the first time, it match with unbiased people that translated it too.

Judging from the other posts in this thread, it seems Viz did their own interpretation on something ambiguous. I wouldn't put my money on them.

I think a lot of us were sure that Sakura was past this "unable to do anything" stage and expected more from her.

Okay. I've read through the translation pages and I'm still really confused. From what I can gather, the interpretation of this chapter and consequences of her confession are these:

 

A). Sakura still loves Sasuke, but doesn't want to be with him anymore and only wants him with Team 7, making her love more genuine and selfless than ever was before. It also supports Kakashi's statement in 675 that her feelings have changed more maturely.

• Meaning this may be a problem. Sakura's feelings are way more sincere now and her selflessness is not only excluded to NaruSaku. She may not move on.
• This means nothing for SS and only reflects Sakura's overall character development.

 

B). Sakura still has feelings for Sasuke/loves Sasuke, hence the use of 'daisuki', but Kakashi uses "aishuru" which is the strongest type of love.

• This might be bad. Her love is in the sincerest, most strongest form and that won't bode well for NaruSaku's canonization. Once again makes 675 more threatening.
• Aishura is term often used for family-type love, like when Kushina told Naruto she loved him while Sakura thinks she's still in love with Sasuke, but Kakashi indicates family love, reflecting back to his statement Sakura's feelings have changed and how Sasuke thought of his family after.

 

These are the most possible conclusions IMO, but I can't say I know which one's more right. Do the raws support any of these theories?

You are probably right. But that's just one part of the Sakura-Sasuke-Kakashi interaction. Overall, the scene is still ambiguous and can be interpreted in multiple ways.

The thing is that we usually take as truth what our translators say about the raws, and a lot of times, VIZ mistranslated them, though this time, it was practically identical to Rikudo's version, that's why we took it as true. Not because it favors NS. The RAW itself favors NS when compared to the fantraslations.

Kishimoto speaks through Kakashi (as a writer I clearly see this). So I'll bet on Kakashi's theory about selfless love without  any romantic intentions. SS-shippers may think anything they want... but Sakura's "daisuke" is either mostly platonic or just a delusion (as Sasuke said... and it devalues Sakura's growth). That is why I prefer Kakashi's explanation. It's consistent with the story (so far). It makes better sense. Perhaps, this "love" is something in between... but after the genjutsu there may be a final change which will come with the realization.
