What the hell is wrong with Kishimoto? What does he achieve???

NS are hugging each other and crying, SS are gasping for air and slowly submerging with nothing to keep them afloat, NH are biting their lips till they bleed, wondering whether it is bad news or good news.

I can only guess this is his benign way of keeping us invested, kind of like with makoto from school days.

I just compared naruto to school days.

All I see is more and more people saying they give up on Naruto manga. I don't think that they are serious, but this is still far from being interested in the future development. Angering and humiliating your fandom is not the way to success.

All I see is more and more people saying they give up on Naruto manga. I don't think that they are serious, but this is still far from being interested in the future development. Angering and humiliating your fandom is not the way to success.

yeah I won't give up on it at all. I see what most others don't see, a ultimate NaruSaku ending because of this, especially the fact that Naruto confirmed the promise is in action to him and that was because he seen the girl he loves crying. I see a ultimate NaruSaku ending coming just watch lol.

You do make me feel better. thank you But I am more used to the classical type of shounen hero who screams he won't let anyone make his beloved cry while his girl is watching him and blushing in gratitude or smth. Not telling his sensei something vaguely romantic in quite voice, while the girl is lying on the ground unconscious after a confession to the other guy. Naruto's words about the promise sounded like he told kakashi: "You were so worried for Sakura, sensei, but don't worry, she will be okay, because I will bring Sasuke back."

You stay true to your name indeed. And I hope you're right, but kishi is gonna have to make this ending great and not push it into the epilogue like kenichi did.

Sakura was very poorly written in this chapter. I'm sorry, but Kishi makes her look like an idiot. The days of her breaking down in tears on the battlefield when something goes wrong should've died a long time ago. For Pete's sake, she wasn't crying like this when Naruto just about died. There, she took action and had the resolve to save his life. Here, she's just pathetic. Even Sasuke (rightfully) mocks here for loving him. Seriously, how do you let a childhood crush go this far?

 

And isn't she suppossed to be some genjutsu specialist? As in someone Sasuke shouldn't put down like he's swatting a fly?

Yep. This chapter is pretty antiNS for me. I once watched a Japanese drama in which there was this complicated love triangle. And the girl decided not to have a romantic relationship with any of the guys (in the end). Maybe... that is the best outcome for Sakura to keep her confidence intact. No romance. I'm waiting for the RAW but I'm pretty sure that it won't really change the perspective.

nope because I think due to the fact that he has both the Sharingan and Rinbegan it's too strong a genjutsu for her still. But you fail to realize that she killed SS in this chapter that's what I read and saw. Naruto brought back up the promise and to me tht equals a confession plus a ultimate NaruSaku ending.

We're almost back to where we started. Sakura loves Sasuke (if RAWs prove that), Naruto wants to return Sasuke for Sakura (and himself... mostly himself), and Sasuke just doesn't care. It's infuriating... 

 

And Saukura's fainting reminds me about the first time Kakashi cast a genjutsu on her during the Bell test. It makes her look even more pathetic. What a brilliant move, Kishi!

Especially with all that MinaKushi comparing too xD When I first read the chapter, I thought it was really good. And then I come here and bam negativity everywhere. I thought it was a really nice chapter. Even the way Sakura was saying that if Sasuke still had a place in his heart. I think she really just wants him to feel something at this point. I think she really wants a happy ending for all of Team 7. It's not just about her anymore, and I appreciate that. She's honest.

 

Who cares if she still loves Sasuke? She's loving the right way, but she doesn't really understand Sasuke. 

 

The point is: She still has stronger feelings for Naruto. Naruto still loves Sakura. And Sasuke confirmed he feels nothing for her romantically. I still expect NaruSaku, because it seems like the most positive and logical pairing. Although Kishi seems to be a little confusing.

Well, if the second translation is confirmed (with the present tense of "love") it would be a final nail in the coffin of Sakura's character. I don't know how to support a pair of characters, when I don't respect one of them. Well, let me be more precise - when I hate how one character is broken in literary sense. I have no hate towards Sakura, it is simply poor writing, character development. I could somehow live with this if only manga wasn't ending in 10 or so chapters. I need to face reality - she will be like that when manga ends. There won't be any major development for her most likely. This is how we will remeber her based on manga alone. I am trying to accept it now, but I just can't. I need to ship NS, while S is destroyed.

I've never been able to figure out what Kishimoto himself thought of Sakura. Whether he hates how she turned out and doesn't want her to be happy and be with Naruto, who is definitely precious to him. Or he has a high opinion of her, but he wants to show her in some particular way which works from his point of view. And we just don't get it in the west. He is writing this manga for his son now, I wonder whether he wants to give him such a prototype of a woman.

То, что Соня была воплощением непоколебимого сострадания и жертвенности, было с литературной точки зрения способом сдвинуть Родиона с мертвой и неестественной, по мнению автора, позиции. Родион пришел к ней, демонстрируя свою жажду искупления, свою потерю себя. И она дала ему толчок. В этом "противостоянии" был их взаимный источник прогресса, пусть Родион и поступал с ней жестоко. В контакте с ним для Сони был смысл гораздо больший, чем просто любовь. Соня не выглядела слабым персонажем, она была определенным идеалом автора, она сама была в поиске новых смыслов. Сакура не понимает Саске, но она не противопоставляет ему ничего, что могло бы повлиять на него, у них нет канала коммуникации. Ее чувства не становятся триггером изменений. Именно поэтому они кажутся столь лишними и неестественными. Продуктивным антагонистом Саске является только Наруто. Сакура выглядит пустой как персонаж Team 7, даже мене влиятельной, чем Какаши. Сакура может последовать за Саске в "ссылку" (это было бы ужасно), но это было бы отличным от Сони и Родиона. Это было бы продолжением странной и бесполезной фиксации со стороны Сакуры. В чем до сих пор был литературный смысл чувств Сакуры к Саске? Кишимото выкинул ее даже из последней битвы, где она могла бы уронить что-то на плодородную почву. Я не вижу никакого литературного смысла. Даже для развития Наруто это пустая линия.

469 and 470 showed us that Naruto comes first in Sakura-Chan's mind and heart. Today's chapter had to been done obviously in that way to give Sakura-Chan her wake up call once again.

I don't think anything got killed in this chapter besides my respect for Kishi (and perhaps shounen manga in general). This is same ole same ole for Kishi This isn't the first time Sasuke has mocked Sakura's love for him and I reckon it won't be the last. Just as this isn't the first time Sakura said she loves Sasuke. I imagine we'll get some more NaruSaku hints before the manga ends, but that's about it. A romance ending in this manga (in most japanese series aimed at young men) is highly unlikely. Mark my words, it'll be some vague BS at best (i.e. the final scene shows a silehoute of Naruto holding someone's hand with a wedding ring attached).
