Ok. I've thought about it and I have calmed a bit even though Im still disappointed.

 

I've come to terms that I can accept and tolerate ONLY NaruHina.  Hinata was strong when her cousin died, she slapped Naruto in the face, this pairing while it lacked so much development and had much "Naruto-kunning".... wasn't completely negative.  Naruto wouldnt lie about his feelings, so he must have learned to love Hinata in the movie and he's happy.

 

SasuSaku on the other hand... wow.  Abuse, neglect, and Sakura... Sakura... why would you ask to go with him? Why? You are willing to throw everything a way just like your part one self... Sasuke magically loving her? It doesn't make sense and I will never accept this.

I agree. Something that confuses me though...Kishi has been planning The Last for two years now, so why did he have Minato ask if Sakura was Naruto's girlfriend, compare her to Kushina, have Sakura deeply care about his dreams, and have Sasuke proclaim his disinterest in Sakura romantically? Did he originally have other plans for the film or ending in general, but he changed his mind? I swear, chapter 693 was such a short time ago. I wonder if Kishi even knew how he would end it then? Or maybe he was just letting the fans know that Sasuke never did love Sakura before his asspull? I am so confused...

  
It's obvious to me that he intended NS and then changed it last minute, likely from outside pressure. No self respecting artist would pull the travesty that he did today, he should be ashamed with the messages that he sent out with his work.

Well that's why I was asking, because people were saying that it implies that he was forced into doing this ending and I was confused. Guess we'll have to wait for any interviews that'll come up soon to hear more on his thoughts.

Sakura arrives, blows off Naruto, Sasuke apologizes, and Sakura asks "For what?" Yeah. Kishi lost his goddamn mind.

Dont threaten Kishi, make petitions, etc... that's childish. Its one thing to dislike the ending but I see some people on tumblr actually serious about threatening him. >_< Im just going to move on. there are other series out there.

If Kishi changed his mind at the last second, then the Last would had to have been drastically changed. This is the ending he's had in mind for at least two years. That's why the movie has been all Naruhina, because that's what it was written as. It's probably better to just accept it and move on. Keep shipping Narusaku in fanon, nothing can stop you from doing that. But it's pretty much over for canon.

Just watching the Dark Knight ending, kinda got me thinking. If Kishi made himself the villain. Like, "you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain"

 

If Kishi was forced to make a NH/SS ending, then he made himself "do those things" i.e. the inconsistencies, the OOC moments, the random pairings all to discredit the ending. In effect, he's "whatever [we] need him to be".

 

We'll "hunt him, condemn [him]. Set the dogs on [him]. Because that's what needs to happen. Because sometimes the truth isn't good enough."

 

The rest doesn't go w/ it though, because we did deserve more and we did deserve to have our faith rewarded.

Damn Kishi asspulled in the very last second for NH and SS. I guess this is why Hinata's daughter is ugly as hell.

The girlfriend comment could have been taken as comedy relief if it wasn't joked about more than once. There was no reason for Minato to compare her to Kushina if it was just for comedy relief, especially with Kushina's words on find on woman. You don't blush at someone if they've matured quicker than you thought. You don't do all of these parallels for nothing. You don't develop this bond from start to finish only to have the main characters feelings of 698 chapters tossed aside in the last two chapters. You don't introduce the heroine of the series as the love interest and develop the main characters feelings only for it to be tossed aside like salad. You don't show all the failures of past students/teachers only for Naruto to do the same thing. 

 

You just.. don't.

The way Sakura looked when she asked Sasuke if she could run away with him...must have been a mirror to how Kishimoto felt. He tossed his own dignity...like a salad

The girlfriend thing and Kushina's words, the NH people were correct as the finale supports it: Naruto told Minato not everything was going according to plan and one of things clearly is that he ends up with the weird girl instead of someone like his mother.  It's messed up but what can you do. 

 

And Kishi said he had the ending planned in an interview back in 2006.  He said the scenes and visual ideas were solid. So thats hard to refute. :/ Maybe he did plan NaruHina/SasuSaku all along.  Disgusting way of showing it but it is what it is.

K: the closest is…hmm maybe Kiba or Naruto…they do things before thinking…for that I think im close to them.

K: hmmm.. Actually I dont particularly want to be a close friend of any of them….but maybe Lee. yes its Lee. Rock Lee would be nice. He seems truthful.

K: its kinda creepy to think about going out with a character i created myself but...if forced, well, id say...Hinata, perhaps.
