No, it isn't a coincidence at all. That's precisely Kishimoto's plan.

I'll tell you what also isn't a coincidence, Obito's regrets in death. As his life was slipping away he regrets not having more time to strengthen his relationship with Kakashi and also feels sad that he never got the chance to confess his love for Rin. Obito's dreams and personality are a parallel to Naruto's. The big difference is that Obito's aspirations ended in tragedy thanks to his untimely death.

Naruto is meant to overcome the obstacles that both Jiraiya and Obito failed to do. The point of the story if to have Naruto surpass them and conquer the impossible odds that are ahead of him. Those include reestablishing the relationship you had with your rival and winning over the girl you like.

What was the point of making Obito and Jiraiya (who are obvious parallels of Naruto) regret their unfulfilled love if not to show that Naruto can break that tragic cycle by making Sakura fall in love with him thanks to his determination?

If Naruto fails to eventually be with Sakura that's like saying that if you adopt Naruto's attitude and ideology, which Jiraiya and Obito also had, then you will still have no chance at getting a girl you fall in love with and forever suffer from unrequited love. That's not a nice message.

i agree 100%. why alot of fans don't get this is beyond me. and they want to call us NS fans heartless

Yeah it's an interesting trailer and I hope Naruto isn't in the episode. Give Sakura a chance to show some development on her own with lots of focus on the Ino-Sakura relationship.

nah, i hope there will be appearance of naruto. The summary said that Sakura kinda lost her memory, ne? Naruto, just like Ino, was one of the people that support Sakura n always stay by her side.

I'm not expecting something way too romance, but I always want to see their relationship to built more strongly. Naruto is one of the ppl she cared about.

I hate to say it but the poor guy doesn't look to be in good health. I guess working in this movie really put a lot of strain on him. Those bags under his eyes are monumental so he probably isn't getting that much sleep, the life of a mangaka is never easy. I feel a little bad for him but if his work makes him happy I guess it's ok.

Called it, I knew it was them on the steps. Also, I'm glad that we are NOW getting pictures of Naruto and Sakura together.
But those pictures with Naruto and his family are just so...............priceless.
It also seems like there will be a falling out between Naruto and Sakura. Notice in those pictures that Naruto seems to be all happy, yet Sakura seems.......sad.

yeah, it's really uncommon to see a pic of Naruto with his hair covering his eyes. That's very common for Sakura to be shown as being introspective, but not so for Naruto.

Doesn't look like a fall out to me, although that would be interesting. It seems they both feel troubled and Naruto tried to be optimistic for a moment but it didn't seem to have any effect since he became serious again.

Also, Sakura seems to be holding some kind of bag in that scene. I wonder what it is?

It looks like a falling out to me, because they both seem sad after that conversation (having their face covered), and their both going the opposite way (as if they are going their separate ways). But maybe that's just me that sees that. Also, I don't see Sakura holding anything, but, then again, it could just be me.

Also, does anyone know if that's an interview or not, and does anyone knows what was said in that interview?

Maybe this is my biased NS side showing, but could be possible that there's so much tension between them in those few screenshots were caused by Sasuke? Either that or seeing his parents alive was too much for him to handle?

Sakura is getting a bit... down I guess. Either from being stuck for so long, or hopelessness *when I look at that, I don't feel that she wants to stay really*

And then when Naruto is forcing that smile, it looks like he's trying to look at the bright side of things, like "Hey, we'll figure out how to get out somehow. No worries". But then look depressed, like he doesn't want to leave. For which I assume maybe Sakura doesn't want to leave either and they're both feeling down from that.

Or they both want to leave and are feeling down about it. Not really sure.

I have to agree. It looks like their in disagreement over something. Not arguing, but that whatever they are talking about is serious and that they perhaps feel or wish for something different.

Like if Sakura said it was a genjutsu and couldn't be real, because of his parents. Yet Naruto wished it was, even though deep down he knew she must be right.

Or if Naruto asked her how she felt about AU Sasuke and she couldn't give him a definitive answer.

There are very few things that would cause Naruto to be introspective, but those are two of them.

These scenes with Naruto and Sakura make me happy -- we knew there were going to be Naruto and Sakura moments, but its nice to see it confirmed. :-)

Speaking of, I wonder what they're discussing here in particular -- they look so serious.

That actually sounds spot on -- Naruto is probably trying to play off the fact that he wants to stay for a while (or maybe even indefinitely) in the genjutsu (because ya know, parents), but Sakura isn't buying that he's not affected by it, or she's trying to convince him that they need to get back home as soon as possible. Or maybe she's trying to convince him that this isn't real, and Naruto's not ready to accept that it's just an illusion created by Tobi.
