Well. maybe not about mechas but they hinted that it won't be about ninjas anymore (maybe Kishimotos original idea of a ramen story came through?).

 

Seriously, with Naruto Kishimoto created a world nearly on par with 'A song of ice and fire', 'Lord of the rings' and 'Star Wars'. In its core it was about the individual and mastery of ones self (because that's what mastering your chakra means - mastering yourself) and what you can do with the right motivation...

 

And now they're planning to destroy that core philosophy of the Naruto world...

Oh yeah. you're right. he admitted NS was romance but (and i believe that was hes chosen paring for years!) but he pittied NH for popularity.
