Well, as far as I can see, Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke are in denial.
The prize for the Denial of the Year goes to Sasuke. Who just can't accept that there is something wrong with him (in the first place) and not the world. He's blaming anyone and anything (Itachi, Konoha, kage and ninja system) instead of looking in the mirror. And... he actually doesn't want to be happy. So he denies everyone who can change his perception of himself.
Sakura has always been in denial about Sasuke (and now she's facing the music) and about Naruto (she tends to overlook their romantic feelings, hers and his respectively). More than that, she made Sasuke and Naruto into her goal thus denying herself wholeness.
Naruto he's in denial about Sakura really loving him. Those are childhood insecurities. So that's the reason for his... guardedness.
She's my favourite character. If I were to turn up in Kishimoto's world, I'd do my best to get Naruto and Sakura together. He'll make her happy. That's why.
That's funny. Because such a sasuke exists only in the imagination of those shippers. And fanfiction.
I guess, understanding that love is about mutual respect and care comes with some experience.
It's show in this manga that in other for pairing to become, they need to love each other(mutual feeling). Oneside is not canon.
The "You're anti-Sakura if you ship NaruSaku" from the SS fans makes no sense whatsoever and not to mention is a little insulting. They shouldn't really have a right to say that. While I admit sometimes I feel like SS fans are anti-Sakura themselves for shipping her with Sasuke (the feeling just slips up sometimes) that doesn't make it right. I'm sure there is fake Sakura fans on the SS side but on our side too. And sometimes it simply comes to a differences of interpretation of Sakura's character. Though I do wonder how these SS fans who think Sasuke is her happiness will feel if she choses Naruto ... will they blame her or accept it? That's when you'll know if they're more Sakura or pairing.
One thing I can't excuse is how some SS fans bash Naruto's affection and NS as terrible for Sakura. Ignoring whatever they think on her feelings, they have to know SS is unhealthy. Somewhere, they have to see that Naruto is better for her and that Sasuke is bad. Honestly, even if I was a SS fan, I would acknowledge that right away.
I will never understand where they find the logic of Naruto being sexist, over-protective, and "keeping Sakura in the kitchen" while putting Sasuke on this pedestal of "respecting her strength and always being honest with her."
"I absolutely can't let you die! I can't! I won't let you die ... your stupid dream ... now it's ... it's right in front ofus!!" ----Sakura Haruno
Sakura's confession in the arc wasn't meant to establish that she still had feelings for Sasuke, rather that she was choosing Naruto over Sasuke and that this entire Part 2 story was more of her rescuing a friend in darkness same as Naruto. She was giving up on wanting to be with Sasuke romantically and Kakashi's statement kind of references this when he says that Sakura wants to save Sasuke because he's someone she used to like.
Unfortunately we have the scene later on when The messenger asks Sakura out, is rejected, and is told that it is because she likes someone else. Then we of course have that great dramatic (yet annoying) scene where Sakura guiltily thinks of Sasuke. The other point about the confession is that Sakura had a clear goal in what she did. Were her feelings sincere? Yes. Was she choosing Naruto over Sasuke? Seems like it. But two things are clear.
A. She still has romantic feelings for Sasuke. Loves him? No chance and imo She doesn't understand love yet. But definitely infatuation.
B. Sakura wanted Naruto to give up going after Sasuke.
The other thing to consider is that she gave up on trying to kill Sasuke and now believes that Naruto will reunite Team 7.
Be careful with Kakashi's statement. Kakashi well a super mega hyper ultra magnificient and a god among mere mortals, is NOT Sakura. He doesn't know her true feelings, affections, or what she thinks about Sasuke. Besides he has misjudged people before (Cough Cough Obito.) Ahem After all that has happened in the story and she still calls him Sasuke-kun plus the messenger guy, I'm not believing anything about her losing feelings for Sasuke until she herself admits it and Naruto confirms it.

Which proves nothing. Sakura wasn't thinking about sasuke when she mentioned the someone else she only thought of him when he said "the person you like must be a good person". The anime even backs this up by having her refer to Sasuke as "someone she used to love" and Kakashi's statement directly references this scene with 675. You can't really argue that Kakashi's statement is false because he's not Sakura because, its Kishi explaining Sakura's feelings through Kakashi's mind as a narrative.
Apparently NS is jealous of the "eye sex" and we're bitter and annoyed that our ship doesn't have any sexual tension. SS's sexual tension being the eye sex, of course.
I've heard the argument that we (supposedly) think she's a trophy for the main character. Maybe that's what they mean?
But hey, I can straw man, too. If Sakura is a trophy for Naruto according to NS shippers, then Naruto is a trophy for Hinata according to NH shippers.

"The person you like must be a great man." Than she thinks of Sasuke. Not Naruto. Not Kakashi (inner Kakasaku fan speaking), but Sasuke.
The anime also made it look like Hinata could take on Pain singlehanded and added a scene that never even existed in the manga "Naruto saving Hinata as a child." That's not reliable at all.
As for Kakashi's statement you can't take that at face value. Karin was stabbed through the chest, said that she was done with Sasuke and forgave him at the drop of a dime and is still in love with him. Orochimaru was killed by him than resurrected and pledged to follow his lead.

I'll give them the last one and there are those big panels of Sakura looking at Sasuke for the first time in a while (the first two) but the rest are?? just regular drawings of sakura and sasuke. in some of those he's not even looking at her and in one he's looking over the shoulder at her. hell i could find some panels of naruto and sakura and call them "eye sex" too.

The whole point of that was to show that she was thinking of Sasuke as a counter-example. She is ashamed of the feelings she had for him if anything its consistent with what she said in LOI where she said that Sasuke brings her nothing but pain and even apologized to naruto for liking him in the first palce.
That's not really much of an argument, SP clearly knew something we didn't her statement took place the very next morning after what happened. Naruto saved Hinata as a child in the anime for all we know that could have actually happened there's nothing that's really says otherwise.
What does Karin and Orochimaru have to do with Kakashi's statement?
@hiraishin
No, it's not. Naruto and sakura only do stare contest.
I mean, you don't do sex eye on your sister right!?
And sasuke will impregnant sakura just with eye contact.
I mean you have magic eye ball who cheat death, make a girl pregnant is not a big deal right!?
Oh, if naruto & sasuke are brother. And naruto and sakura are brother & sister, does it make sakura and sasuke husband and wife?
