[NaruSaku fan in Kentucky]

For some reason I dream'nt that about The movie Hercules and Naruto played Hercules while Sakura played Meg. I honestly can see that. Who can be Hades?

I am feeling down because up till now I thought Naruto didnt name Sakura because he hadnt confessed to her because he hadnt fulfilled his promise of a lifetime.But one NH fan pointed out to me that Sakura already lifted the promise from Naruto after the confession so I dont have a valid reason why he didnt name Sakura ;(

Tbh Naruto's the kind of guy to hold fast to his convictions no matter what. And if he still believes Sakura loves Sasuke, then he wouldn't name her (cause it's not going well). Plus, you know, he's always gotta keep up the pairing suspense..

Naruto and Sakura have done a lot of things for each other. They really don't need to do anything more.

All they have to do is have an honest talk with each other about their feelings.

In earlier part of war arc, when training in the turtle island to become the perfect jinchuriki. He met his mother(kushina) who give him her advice.
There, he remember or recount the advice. I forget what chapter is it.

Yep.She stopped chasing him,held his hand,was next to him.But she will realize Naruto never loved/loves her after released from IT.She will face to reality.She must face!

Imo, the Land of Iron Arc established several things.

 

1. Naruto is no longer bound by his promise to Sakura- There s a panel in the aftermath where someone comments that Naruto looks peaceful like a burden has been lifted from him.

 

2. Sakura still has feelings for Sasuke-And until I see her actually get over him I don't think these feelings have dissappeared yet.

 

3. Sakura has no chance of affecting Sasuke in any way, only Naruto- During the confrontation she admitted that she would have to trust in Naruto to make her dream of team 7 being together again.

 

4. Naruto didn't believe her confession-Here's where it get's tricky. While some ppl believe that he didn't believe her statement that she loved him, imo he didn't buy the fact that she said that he was the only one that she loved. It was a fake confession, but only bc she lied about moving on from Sasuke, not bc she lied about her feelings for Naruto.

I'd like to add my two cents about point 4. Naruto initially believed that Sakura was confessing just for the sake of confessing; his immediate reaction was to blush at her comment, but when he started to think through things, he started to become more serious. That's when he started to question her about her intentions. He knew that there was a reason for her approaching him like this all of a sudden, so that's why he calmed down and started to confront her about it. What's funny is that even after Naruto said that he "hates people who lie to to themselves," he didn't outright deny liking Sakura. When she threw it in his face, in an attempt to convince him to return to Konoha, the wording of his response implies that the reason that he rejected her wasn't that he didn't like her anymore, but because of other reasons (i.e. being suspicious of her confession and having to take care of Sasuke).

Sakura's confession in the arc wasn't meant to establish that she still had feelings for Sasuke, rather that she was choosing Naruto over Sasuke and that this entire Part 2 story was more of her rescuing a friend in darkness same as Naruto. She was giving up on wanting to be with Sasuke romantically and Kakashi's statement kind of references this when he says that Sakura wants to save Sasuke because he's someone she used to like.

What's funny is that even after Naruto said that he "hates people who lie to to themselves," he didn't outright deny liking Sakura. I've written this same idea so many times out here that I've worn the lettering off my keyboard.  

 

Sakura said, "If you don't like me then just say so!  If you're going to make up excuses---"  And then Naruto didn't deny he liked her / wanted her / loved her.  He brushed past her demand by saying, "It's just weird!  You came all this way just to tell me something like that!?"

 

And besides, he said the "hate people who lie to themselves" thing in anger.  Naruto was not only angry at the idea that Sakura would deny her feelings for Sasuke in order to manipulate him, but I think he was angry that she would try to deny her feelings for Sasuke for Naruto's sake at all.  He doesn't want her not to be true to her heart.  He loves her too much for that.

 

But Naruto understood Sakura and her motives much better after she left and Sai explained.  I think Sai managed to explain to Naruto that Sakura did still love Sasuke, and enough that she wanted to save him from himself and his dark path.  That satisfied Naruto on that point.  Secondly, Sai made it clear to Naruto that Sakura was doing everything she was doing because she cared for Naruto -- which added credibility to Sakura's claim of choosing Naruto over Sasuke.  

 

Although it was all a jumble and wasn't resolved clearly, Sakura walked away from that confrontation having committed herself to Naruto as a friend, teammate, AND girlfriend.  And since Naruto did not actually reject her or say he wasn't interested, he sort of accepted the change in their relationship by default.

 

I think the confusing way it unfolded, and because of what was left unsaid by Naruto, that's the reason why he hesitated to confirm it more positively to Minato, and why he said to tell Kushina he was still working on it.  

 

Sasuke is still a question that needs to be answered once and for all, and the whole thing needs to be cleaned up between Naruto and Sakura.  But I really think it's just a matter of formality.

When I ship a couple, I usually have to see something that shows potential for a romantic pairing. I can't usually ship a relationship that is clearly pure friendship or too one-sided. After a while I realized that nearly all of my OTPs---and I've had many of them---ended up canon, were canon, or were in some way mutual. I've never actually been passionate about a couple that was pure friendship through and through.That's probably why I'm not a big fan of most crack pairings either. I can't get attached to couples like that, good fanart and fanfiction or not.

 

Given my history with couples, I'd like say I trust my judgment about NaruSaku being canon. I've been right almost all the other times before (and I say that loosely ... a couple not canon but with strong feelings compared to a rival ship is considered a win to me). I'd honestly be surprised if NaruSaku didn't happen. It'd definitely be a first in my experience.

I think it's pretty much the same for me, usually.

 

I normally ship canon. Most of the series I've watched were long over by the time I watched them, so I can't say I've seen pairings I've shipped become canon. They usually already were. Or if they weren't, they totally could have been without conflicting with the story or seeming forced.

More bad writing or good writing depending on how you look at it. Technically not naming Sakura as the girl allows Kishi breathing room when it comes to pairings because after Sakura's Confession it would make sense for Naruto to move towards Hinata in terms of feelings if Kishi wanted to go that route. But then along came 631 and the rest is history.

That's Naruto's belief, not Sakura's feelings. He doesn't have to win her over necessarily, there's enough shiptease to show that they are interested in each other. If he sees that Sakura is over Sasuke and starts pursuing him instead than I doubt he would really object:
