Yes that's what I did. 

 

I took both into consideration Naruto x Sakura ends up getting more results than NaruSaku.

That's true, I read several times on the net that japanese people ship by saying ナルトXサクラ (Naruto x Sakura) and not ナルサク (NaruSaku) while it's false, when you read a discussion or a comment on a ship, you'll see them talking about NaruSaku and not Naruto x Sakura. They call their ship the same as us. That's to say NaruSaku. 

Yeah! That's why I asked, I've seen it really often and I don't know where it came from. If you look up ナルトXサクラ on google you'll even get non-shippy results and English results (even if you put it in japanese google).

When I ship a couple, I usually have to see something that shows potential for a romantic pairing. I can't usually ship a relationship that is clearly pure friendship or too one-sided. After a while I realized that nearly all of my OTPs---and I've had many of them---ended up canon, were canon, or were in some way mutual. I've never actually been passionate about a couple that was pure friendship through and through.That's probably why I'm not a big fan of most crack pairings either. I can't get attached to couples like that, good fanart and fanfiction or not.

 

Given my history with couples, I'd like say I trust my judgment about NaruSaku being canon. I've been right almost all the other times before (and I say that loosely ... a couple not canon but with strong feelings compared to a rival ship is considered a win to me). I'd honestly be surprised if NaruSaku didn't happen. It'd definitely be a first in my experience.

Yes that's what I did.

It's normal that you got more results with ナルトXサクラ since they are the male main character and the female main character, so of course you have more results by writting their name, even non shipping related results.

Just curious, if you thought a couple was going to be canon but didn't like it, would you ship it? Or if you liked a couple but didn't think it was going to happen (because maybe it's clear that the author won't make any pairing canon), would you still ship it?

 

No, I wouldn't bother to ship a couple I don't like just because it's canon.  But I have shipped couples that might never be made canon, as long as doing so doesn't contradict something in canon.

Imo, the Land of Iron Arc established several things.

 

1. Naruto is no longer bound by his promise to Sakura- There s a panel in the aftermath where someone comments that Naruto looks peaceful like a burden has been lifted from him.

 

2. Sakura still has feelings for Sasuke-And until I see her actually get over him I don't think these feelings have dissappeared yet.

 

3. Sakura has no chance of affecting Sasuke in any way, only Naruto- During the confrontation she admitted that she would have to trust in Naruto to make her dream of team 7 being together again.

 

4. Naruto didn't believe her confession-Here's where it get's tricky. While some ppl believe that he didn't believe her statement that she loved him, imo he didn't buy the fact that she said that he was the only one that she loved. It was a fake confession, but only bc she lied about moving on from Sasuke, not bc she lied about her feelings for Naruto.

Thanks for clarifying.But then now its even more vague.What is the reason he didnt name the girl?lol I still think its Sakura because if it was Hinata he would have named her because there are no complications with her

In earlier part of war arc, when training in the turtle island to become the perfect jinchuriki. He met his mother(kushina) who give him her advice.
There, he remember or recount the advice. I forget what chapter is it.

It feels like he waited until he turned 17. I feel like that age and up will be the next step of life. Maybe that's why the Last sounds more adult with possible deeper romantic tone.

Well Sakura was thinking about Sasuke no caring about her, but we know why she was actually thinking about that, and it didn't have to do with anything romantic.

I don't think it's much of a threat, I think that it's just another way that Hinata has shown to not think of how Naruto can be happy, rather she has only ever thought of her own happiness. Naruto's discussion with Minato in 691 made it clear that he's still in love with Sakura, it just "not going as mom said" (can't remember the exact line) because of his uncertainty towards Sakura's feelings.
