To be honest, he probably pitied her. That whole kittening forehead scene was atrocious. Kishi must have forgot who the hell was the original proponent of the forehead deal. Kishi made himself look stupid with that one.

nah, he knew exactly what he was doing. notice how there were some call backs to part 1 during the war. the poal was brought up, team 7 goals and kakashi's statement about disliking team 7 too, yet he forgets the forehead scene? bull! i'm so disgusted at him right now.

Just thought I'd post this again:
First of all Kishi's quote about the ending:
"In accepting the final story, there are mixed feelings, both happy and sorrowful. Nevertheless, Im able to speak clearly, thank you to all the readers. To the end, I truly thank you. Otsukaresama dattebayo!!"
Which pretty much confirms what I thought:
He was forced to end it with NH/SS (whether by his editors or SP) and that's why he went out of his way to make it seem ridiculous. That's why he:
-Constantly showed Sasuke insulting Sakura, saying he couldn't care less if she died, specifically saying he had no reason to like her, saying (even to himself in his own head) that Naruto's his only friend and the only person he has a bond with ect.
-Having Kakashi say "Sakura's not trying or wanting to make you hers! She only wants to save you!".
-Going out of his way to make the last two chapters stupid and ridiculous (Garaa's hair, fat Anko, Sai an Choji's kids, Naruto's kids, Naruto of all people making his son feel lonely and neglected, then telling him to suck it up ect.)
-And even then leaving hints to show it's not what he wanted. Naruto (and most other people) not seeming very happy in life, Sakura looking even more like Kushina (Made her the same height in and gave her the same bangs in "The Last", and even gave her the hair clip in the epilogue), SS's kid lookin more like Karin ect.
It's like it was his way of saying "This isn't what I wanted, so I'll make it extra stupid and pathetic so people will realize it.".
So basically I just adds to my argument that 699/700 aren't canon and the NS was meant as end game right until the end.

Then we realize Hinata the Last was planned for 2 years... I don't know what to think, but I'll agree this wasn't Naruto

Looking forward to Kishi's interview. He'll probably mirror his assistant's comments about how there was no "heroine/love interest" and Naruto hasn't pursued Sakura since the Pain arc. If everyone asks about parallels, he'll probably dodge the question by saying "they succeed in a different way".

 

I just don't see him being honest about this being a sell out ending. That would take guts to admit.

 

I want to hear the explanation about his kids having whiskers. Isn't that impossible since the mother wasn't a jinchuuriki?

I love how he brought back that POAL, and then nothing gets made of it. Sakura literally ignored Naruto. What a disgrace.

Nothing about what he said implies that. lol It's over, so of course it's going to be sad. He was helping them work on the last for two years. This didn't just come out of nowhere. Like it or not, this is what he wanted, because that's what he did.

A rant on Kishimoto....

I have been avoiding to criticize him but I think I'll do it. I don't care if I seriously have the right or what anyone will think of it. I am gonna speak my mind since I have the right to, being a reader of this series.

Kishimoto....first and foremost...you suck brutally. I hope you are aware of that XD Leave apart the pairing stuff but you gave an ending which was not even plausible. Even the neutral fans are pissed off. Just look at you. I pity you. You said you were like Naruto, didn't you? Well, that guy never abandoned his principles, come what may. He never gave a kitten to anyone who insulted his ideology. I used to look up to you Kishimoto. You gave me a series which became a big part of childhood. You have no clue what I'd be right now, if it weren't for Naruto. This series gave me hope, taught me stuff and basically made me grow up, taught me how to be optimistic and what not! You have no clue as to how Naruto has affected many people. You kitten on your own story despite you being Naruto? You abandon your own principles just for the sake of money? You know Kishi....we NS fans would've paid you the amount for the movie tickets...however you raised the prices....just to see how things turned up. You didn't have to.do this just because NH and SS fans are more in number and you'd pool in more money. You just basically threw your principles. You not only abandoned them...but you just kittented on them.

You say you are like Naruto. You understand very well how he feels right now, don't you? How would you feel if your wife stopped giving two kittens about you and just went after some random douche because he looks good? Didn't you care for Naruto's emotions one bit? Didn't you think of your own relationship with your wife, when you wrote this ending? I used to think you were a great writer, Kishi. I admit my defeat. I lost. You were not a good writer. Why? Because NS did not go canon? No, because you basically changed the nature of every character and you destroyed one character to the roots. I will hate you for ruining Sakura, forever. Mess with the queen and you won't be spared. You said she was the most human of all. What you did with her....was it in human nature in the first place? How could you Kishi...how could you?

Did the editors force you? Its your story man! How could the editors tell you how to write it! If it were Naruto, he'd leave WSJ because they were telling him to do something which he didn't want to...

You said Akira was your role model, didn't you? Is this how you'd pay your respects to him? He sucked at romance....but he never failed to remain consistent with the characters. Oh! And for some reason....Goku remained his main character and Vejeta his rival. Those two are an ideal example of how a rivalry and a bromance should be written at once. There's still time, Kishimoto. Change your manga name to 'Sasuke'. That'd fit very well. We are just tired for your favouritism for Sasuke. And even so....Sasuke was the worst character ever made. This is not how I'll pay my respects to my role model. You messed it up Kishimoto. You messed it up. You destroyed the most beautiful part of this manga. Oh! How did I forget the characters?

Even so, Naruto and NS will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thanks to your earlier writings. I give you my word for it. Nothing will replace these two.

I hope...no I really wish you come back as a better writer one day and answer our questions and tell us what you really intended to do and why you did not do it? Maybe...that'll be enough? It will be good...but not good enough. I wish you all the very best for your future mangas. I won't be reading them but still...the best wishes for you. Thank you for everything, Kishi, Naruto..NS every...everything. Its because of NS I joined this site and met wonderful people like you guys. This is the place which I'd cherish forever. It holds a special position in my heart as well ;)

You don't have to "accept" a story you created. He has sorrowful feelings about it, and in response to that said "Nevertheless, I'm able to speak clearly.". It seems pretty obvious that he was disappointed about it. That's why (like I said in the post) he made multiple scenes of killing off SS from both sides in the recent chapters. It also explains why he made the end so horrible. His part of the series is done, but there's still the anime, the movie, and Part 3. Now they have to use his crappy designs for the kids for Part 3. Why else would he pair up Choji and Karui, make Sai's kid look like an alien, fat Anko, Sakura looking even more like Kushina, SS's kid looking more like Karin ect.? It's like his revenge on them for making him do this. He wanted to make it clear that this isn't what he was planning (which is obvious just from reading the manga).

Something that confuses me though...Kishi has been planning The Last for two years now, so why did he have Minato ask if Sakura was Naruto's girlfriend, compare her to Kushina, have Sakura deeply care about his dreams, and have Sasuke proclaim his disinterest in Sakura romantically? Did he originally have other plans for the film or ending in general, but he changed his mind? I swear, chapter 693 was such a short time ago. I wonder if Kishi even knew how he would end it then? Or maybe he was just letting the fans know that Sasuke never did love Sakura before his asspull? I am so confused...

I joined this forum a little while ago now, but didn't really post that much. Wished I had sooner. There are a lot of really great people here on this site, and it felt good to know that all of us were united through a common bond, that being the affection we had for a certain blonde and pink-haired gal. This ending is very disheartening, but being here with you all is making it a far less bitter pill to swallow. Thank you very much, fellow NaruSaku peeps. You guys are awesome.

Well we can just suppose her feelings did reach him in the end. Maybe he just thought "why not if she loves me that much?" Maybe he realized all the suffering he did to her and considering that she still loves him even after all he did, he was in the end affected by her love. But I suppose we'll get our answers as to how the couples were established in the mini Part3 or in the movie, well at least NH will be properly explained in The Last, though I don't think I'll watch it right away.

The funny thing is, is that I never read NS fanfics, besides a one shot here and there. I love the fan arts, head canons, and everything, but when it came to fanfics, I just read crack pairings. I always thought, NS would get its story in the manga, but clearly I was very wrong.

I'm not as devastated, as I was yesterday, when I saw the spoilers, cause I had time to prepare.( Also, cause I have not been in this fandom for years like others.) But, I sincerely hope for those who can't look at NS without that deep feeling of betrayed in their gut, that you will heal. When I got that feeling yesterday, I just couldn't sit still, couldn't focus, and couldn't believe it was happening. However, being here definitely made me feel better.( I seriously can't keep this tab closed for long.)

So, I hope that others feel better, cause as they say " Time heals all wounds". I'm definitely gonna keep coming back to this site and might even write an NS fanfic for the fun of it. It was nice to be with everyone, even with the disaster that was the " final chapters" .

What sucks balls about this is I'm feeling like a heartless creep for being more upset about a fictional story. I might not have formed the greatest of bonds with my Grandma, but it's killing me to see my mom basically beat herself up over it, considering she lost her dad when I was still a baby

The girlfriend comment was a joke/comic relief. Kushina comment was apparently just that, a comment. Sakura cares for him as a friend, it seems, nothing more. As for Sasuke, he said it himself. He pushed everyone away on purpose because he wanted everyone close to him to hate him. It's that simple. Kishi didn't write anything deeper than that, we just thought he did. lol.
