Yeah, I did find that interview and it is kinda discouraging.

It says that she still loves Sasuke (not that I thought otherwise) and that Naruto is just close. (I know that the translation might be rough) And that Sakura didn't show much spirit.
But the worst part is that japanese fandom seems to have forced the Hinata\Sakura comparison upon Kishimoto and that is just disturbing. It is hard to guess the true meaning, but it almost feels like they told him that Hinata is more of a heroine. I actually had an impression before that Hinata is much less popular in Japan. Well, it is hard to deduce anything from such a short text.
Still it is hard to see Hinata mentioned in a text, where a pivotal romantic scene is discussed, where she wasn't present and Sakura is depicted as somewhat un-heroine-like.
And what do you think he meant when he said that he depicted Sakura as an honest but stubborn girl in that scene?
Does he mean that she was actually sharing some truthful feelings, but she is still stubborn in her dedication to Sasuke?
Or does he mean that she just believed in what she was telling Naruto (denying herself feelings) and was dedicated to bear consequences?
Well, based on the people here who visit Japanese forums, Hinata gets bashed a lot apparently
Remember this interview is 4+ years old, I guess she's become less popular
I would also be annoyed if people are saying somebody is a heroine when they really aren't in my eyes. Kishimoto made Sakura to be the heroine, that's what a heroine is in his eyes.
As for the last part, we'll see in the last few chapters what he really meant
I just watched a Harry x Hermione video and all 101 reasons why to ship it and I started to realise that pairing is like NaruSaku. I'm very disappointed that it didn't happen. I hope NaruSaku becomes canon soon or we will have the same fate as Harry Potter.
Did you know J.K Rowling said she regretted pairing Hermione and Ron
