Well Naruto knew about Sakura's feelings towards Sasuke, but it didn't stop him. I don't know if the same applies to Sakura, since she's a girl and girls have different mentality. Plus after Sai told Sakura about how Naruto feels about her (the whole "you're making him suffer") I guess she feels kind of unworthy of his love or something similar to this... Anyway, after the girlfriend comment I guess that Hinata's feelings won't stand in the way of NS. That's why I think Naruto should turn Hinata down properly: so that Sakura won't have any doubts and thoughts about Hinata and her feelings.

The problem with the "popularity" argument is that the yaoi pairings are actually more popular in Japan, and Sakura and Hinata have always ranked similarly in the polls (and self-reported polls coming from only people who voted aren't very accurate in the first place). In other words, it is actually very difficult to discern to true popularity of a character or pairing, so it's best to leave them out of pairing debates altogether.

No, before the narusaku event was announced, there had already been several sasusaku events. These events are purely fan-organized, anybody with enough money to rent a floor at a showroom can have one, and shouldn't be used to judge a pairing's popularity.

For me at least, I'm just content knowing that Naruto and Sakura have such a beautiful relationship that we don't need polls to back up our pairing.


I've seen several people point out that it seemed out of character for Naruto to just ignore a friend like that. Sakura's uneasiness towards Hinata's confession could be another barrier to her accepting Naruto's feelings, it would be interesting if Kishimoto did bring it up.

And yeah i know about the sasusaku events, but recently they've been making narusaku ones, so its cool :) Personally, im just happy that sakura is really popular in the main fanbase :)

With the fan service he gives to Hinata in Shippuden when she appears, like the last chapters she appeared in, I do think that he cares about the fan base's pairing that got NH's back and the fans of Hinata. He tends to show Hinata in a bigger spotlight than the other side characters, always. He can do it to any other side character but because of popularity, from what it seems, he shows her the most out of the side characters.

 

He had killed NH for good for them in 631, though there's still some who didn't want to believe and still continue with this pairing till they see the real pairing happening. But, as for Hinata's character appearance, I think he'll show her whenever he can when the K11 are together in any situation.

 

I don't know about his selling for the books and other marketing things, but he seems that he wants to keep all the fans of his manga to keep following.

I dunno, but im gonna have to disagree with you on the whole hinata and her fanservice and her being the most one to occur.

Hinata hasn't had many scenes or "fanservice". Simply because she's just not important, so i dunno where you got "hinatas big fanbase in japan" Oh and if your talking about the west, kishi only focuses on HIS fanbase. 

 

Plus, i'd say personally that the number of sakura lovers and sakura haters (aka hinata lovers) are pretty even.

Yeah, I agree. Plus it would be strange to show panels with all the members of K11 but excluding Hinata, wouldn't it? She's a part of 3 rookie teams after all.. the heiress of one of the strongest clans of the village if now the whole shinobi world etc.. I think its good that Kishi's finally giving her some development.

Well, honestly, her "development" even lacks compared to the other characters, shes just so bland, and meh...well, shes done with..so im happy.

 

and she hasn't had any development about her role as heiress, i feel like hanabi is the one for the role.

I'm only talking in Shippuden and her fan base as from around the world. In Japan, she's not that popular but with the west, she has a good fan base.

 

Those side characters has appeared many times, but I'm saying when all the side characters are there, not just a specific team.

 

Yes, she's not important to the plot and Kishi cares for his fan base in Japan, but when side characters are there in important battles, she shines the most out of all of them.

 

In Japan, there's no Sakura haters, just neutrals or something, but usually the most love her. In the west, well, the majority are haters sadly. I don't think about these stuff much cause they're just pure preferences and backing another thing for its sake XD

I see what you mean, but Sasuke and Hinata are very different characters. Naruto will fight Sasuke for anything, but who in their right mind will pick on Hinata?

I don't think Hinata's feelings are necessarily the biggest hindrance to narusaku, I just think it would be interesting to see how Sakura feels about herself in the middle of all of this.

I had a thought once, wouldn't it be interesting if H&E had a real life get together?

I guess somebody figured a narusaku event was long overdue. Considering they're organizing another one so quickly, I'm guessing the first one went well.

She's the older child, so that technically means she's the future head of the clan? Plus this war is the chance for her to show that she's capable of becoming the next head of the Hyuugas. She was pretty close to Neji and she knows how other branches suffer (I don't think that Hanabi is mature enough / knows all the details to cope with the issue) so she might be the first to put an end to this inequality, etc. etc...

Anyway, you shouldn't be worried about her appearing on the panels: it's not like it will blow another hole in our ship (hopefully).

I think the "fanservice" was a reference to her Road to Ninja prequel.

Kishimoto did state in an interview that people were dismissing Sakura in favour of Hinata.

The complaints I see about Sakura are actually quite similar to what Sai told her before her confession (ie. you're promise is the reason for everything bad that's happened to Naruto. If anything, Naruto's reaction to Sakura's confession confirms he isn't burdened purely by the promise at all). For that fact to be addressed by the manga itself, I can't help but feel that it was the author was flooring the haters' arguments. Just like he did by pointing out Kushina is like Sakura by Minato himself.

I beg to differ. Hinata just got the Team 10 treament and we all know that Team 10, especially Shikamaru, got the most treatment than any other side characters. You can argue that she's lucky to have a plot revolves with Naruto to make her appear more than her team, but I digress. Honestly, she doesn't have that much of a screen time, but she is treated with more respect than her team.

That said don't be surprised that Naruto never again address the confession from Hinata because it doesn't really add anything for him or even her to be truly honest. It's my opinion, sure, but if the manga ends with nothing return, you would see the developments are mainly encouragement, not true romance. Her shine in that part already got addressed with no love return because perhaps Kishi isn't serious about NH at all. It's not like she's waiting for it, and it doesn't help that her story isn't main. Don't give a character a pedestal when they're not even demanding the same as you. If Hinata wants love, then we follow her to see if there's one. If not, then why support when it's not there.

i dunno where some people are getting the "hinata shines the brightest when the konoha 11 are shown" pfft, excuse me? when has hinata ever had this special treatment? thats right, never. Just as Ns4l3g said, she just gets better screen time than her team mates kiba and shino. But other than that, team 10 has been the only team, and then team gai, to have alot of screen time and actually make a difference to the story.

so can we please stop with the "hinata has the best treatment out of the k11" or "hinata needs to resolve her feelings with naruto" cuz thats just BS :) here's hoping that with my post and ns4l3g's post, we'll change your views regarding these far-fetched theories of yours

well, considering the events in the manga concerning the hyuga clan back in the chunin exam arc (since the hyuga aren't important to the story) hinata is weaker than her sister hanabi and hanabi as been undergoing some serious training with her father for the heiress role. I also am sure that if neji is revived he'll be the head of the clan. Hinata's character is done, she never had anything to do with the heiress role. Plus, just a personal thought here, i dont think kishi will even bother with the hyuga clan since he said in his rtn interview i think, that he's gonna finish up with the hyuga clan, and thats what he did with the hyuga's "spotlight" in the war.

I hope not - even though NaruSaku coming at the very end of the story is entirely possible. However, part of me feels that maybe it would be best if it is resolved right after the war arc (such as, in a period of time btwn the war and the Naruto vs. Sasuke battle) because then it will be out of the way so the main story can be focused on and also so Naruto will have everything he needs for him to successfully become Hokage (all the village people acknowledging him and having his friends and specifically Sakura at his side, as mentioned by Itachi when he told Naruto about Minato having his friends and Kushina)

well it is posssible. in terms of progression of the story we are very close to the end, so who knows, maybe it will be good for the series if NS became cannon sooner than the end. Perhaps right before the last arc. It would certainly add new story elements to play around with, it could be very interesting if done right.

 

but that decision is left up to Kishi.

Well when she realized that hinata loves naruto she seemed to be somewhat sad about it. She didnt seem to enjoy the idea or approve of it.

Also whats the Naruto Shippuden episode when their all like smaller versions of them selves and their having fun....im sure its filler, but it seems to be filled with NS.

 

While I wrote this I realized NS=Naruto/Sakura/NS=Naruto Shippuden lol just throwing it out there
