You're right, he has never respected her strength, but he hasn't really respected Naruto either, as an equal, which Naruto said at the bridge. He knows that Naruto is strong, but he views Naruto more along the lines that Naruto is a bug that's in the way. He doesn't yet acknowledge that Naruto is on his level, which, after all of Naruto's accomplishments, is a major slight. 

 

His treatment of them both is inexcusable, but I think it's closer than a lot of people think. I feel like he treats them both like kitten relatively equally, but Sakura is a little worse off. 

 

I would love to see that.

But he has respected Naruto before. Hell, he flat out says that she's worse than Naruto. Remember how he wanted to fight Naruto in the chunin exams in part 1.

 

When I look back at part 1 I don't think it's close. Sasuke treated Sakura like dog crap when she was just worried about him, and then soon after that Sasuke turns his attention to Naruto and claims that he wants to fight him.

I don't think he ever respected Naruto. He's always seen Naruto as an obstacle, he never really respected him as a man. It always been that Naruto was an object to step over to prove to himself that he's strong, he never really respected Naruto's strength. When ever Naruto got stronger, he always got jealous and angry. He never once gave Naruto respect for his strength.

When it comes to the series as a whole, for some reason I believe that they both were treated equally kitten.

I do think he respected Naruto before part 2 because he said Naruto was his best friend. Of course there was some jealousy on his part, but there was some on Naruto's part as well. When you think about it, their relationship in part 1 mostly consisted on trying to 1up the other. Their competitive relationship made them reach the top of the tree when they were practicing their chakra control. They both didn't want to fall behind the other and that motivated them to get stronger.

 

I just feel like Sakura has never got the respect she deserves from Sasuke like Naruto once had.

I thought Sasuke acknowledged her when he smirked in 631.I was happy.But he got worse.He treated her like a crap.He never changed.Still hoping he will respect her someday.
