I'm gonna show this to anybody who says NaruHina has more development than NaruSaku from now on.  I didn't think their interactions in the manga would be THAT low...

It's even worse when in all those interaction. We never got even a glimpse of Naruto > Hinata!

After having seen this post by a tumblr user, I can say safely that NaruHina had 0% chance of happening w/out the movie. This post shows how many times Naruto and Hinata interacted throughout the manga:

Thank you very much for the link! I actually liked their scene on the training field and suddenly understood why some people got hooked on NH in Part 1 and why I even considered NH a threat. Hinata looked good back there. Even though her dynamics with Naruto sucked and it was even underlined by the author.

But overall development is ridiculously small. And the rest of the scenes are somewhat pathetic or morally disturbed (something I mentioned in my previous post). Even if those were all good scenes (I suppose Kishi intended them to look good), I can't believe this is all we get for Naruto's future wife. I could believe in this only if there was no other rival ship, if this was the only romantic plot in the whole manga, I could see them start developing something AFTER the manga (there is nothing IN the manga), but while Sakura is present, after what Naruto has shown towards Sakura, after their awesome dynamics that were also underlined by the author as if in comparison.... I don't understand it at all.

It feels like Hinata was so much stronger in Part 1. I never reread part 1 in recent years, so I forgot completely.

Huh, I had actually forgotten about most of that stuff. When you read it compressed like this, it does make it seem like NaruHina was intended after all. But then you have the rest of the manga, which makes these moments fade into obscurity.

LMFAO she had soooo much potential! But noooo, her world revolves around a boy!

Like girl, if you want to be a better person do it for yourself benefit also . Not just for someone else. This is why, I really dislike her now.

Exactly, and things seem more off since Hinata never understood Naruto didn't mean he likes her when he said he likes people like her, he was mentioning he likes people who have her tenacity she showed vs. Neji!

IMO SP was never NH fans! It's just when it comes to Hinata, they must promote NH. Since all there is about Hinata is her love for Naruto!

Glad I'm not alone. I always felt "OK, I do not see the appeal to this coupling. Especially since Hinata is too shy, and she also doesn't seem like she's going to be able to get stronger since she is so reliant on what Naruto thinks of her". It got worse in Shippuden to me since she hadn't even changed too much at all in the 3 years Naruto had been gone. Sure, she became a Chunin, but she didn't change much in her personality, and still clung to her feelings for Naruto rather than growing stronger for herself.

Back when I was a SS shipper(embarassing, I know ), the only reason I actually shipped NaruHina was because I thought Naruto would be happy with her if he couldn't get Sakura. I also thought it was kinda cute. But now that I look at it, the pairing just seems bland and boring. Their dynamic is nothing like Naruto and Sakura's, which makes me appreciate their relationship even more
