Well, Kiski could always troll us all and make Sasuke and Naruto into one being. It would be hilarious. Sakura wouldn't have to choose.

If none of the pairings end up happening how will you react? Angry? relieved?

It would be very bad. I don't think I would have the right to be angry, because this is shounen and we are not supposed to get much romance in shounen (that's what makes it interesting though). They don't promise us a romantic ending, they promise us "a dream that came true". But it would be a loss for me and my shipping. I don't like imagining stuff that isn't there unless I have a good reason to imagine it (big hints that this or that is probably going to happen). I also don't like to destroy what is already canon, because I feel like cheating myself. I don't expect to see a picture of Sakura having Naruto's babies (and thank god to that - I don't like mother-theme), but I want a confession or a big enough hint. I am ok with wondering - will they work it out all the way to the "happily ever after"? - as long as I know that Sakura is definitely the one Naruto is going to pursue and all the major obstacles (like SS) are resolved. For example, if we don't see a confession\physical contact, but the last panel is showing us Naruto and Sakura going somewhere together, the two of them as the center of the picture, it is good enough for me. It is canon for me. If its Hinata that we see in the end, even if there is no romantic interaction, but she is shown to be the closest to Naruto in the last panels, I've lost. If we see nothing, I'll feel like a major fool and I will have to work through leftover tension in my soul for a month or so.

What can I say? If you really are an outstanding Uchiha that's your life formula: you act, then... act, again and again, making a huge mess everywhere you can, and finally you regret it when dying. Or after death if you didn't manage to repent the idiocy being still alive.

Its funny that noone can actually witness Sasuke going evil again. I mean, except for Team 7, who care for Sasuke A LOT. The rest of shinobi are in Tsukiyomi state. So if Naruto beats some sense into Sasuke and makes him give up on his "revolution" they can even keep this brawl a secret from everyone else. They will only tell how they defeated The Bunny God together, Sasuke will be considered a hero and will be forgiven for everything he has done before. He won't even need to go to prison or suffer other form of punishment and will return to Konoha. What do you think? Could Kishi allow such injustice?

Here's something else that comes to mind: Considering that there have been a lot of RtN parallels- and rightfully so, considering that Kishi was behind it- I can't help but wonder how the end of the movie will match up with various possible directions that the plot could talk from this point. Any ideas? (PS- Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, Mods.)

That would be awful. The people deserve to know what happened, but I'm guessing, if anyone, the higher-ups will know -- the Five Kage, and they already don't like him. But I could see Kishi having everyone keep it a secret, but.. I do believe Sakura (Tsunade being her master) and especially Kakashi telling at least Tsunade what happened.

Well everyone, today's events may just have given NS the means to go canon.

 

The genjutsu is still active and will be for god knows how many more chapters, but no Hinata, no NH can occur.

 

Sasuke just may have killed SS for good, because this event will impact Sakura (and kakashi) but to harm naruto, to say he will kill tsunade, who is very important to sakura, thats another deal.

 

Besides that, look who is present, only team 7, so by this I think NS may be entering the canonsphere in the next few months.

 

Out of the pairings that can occur here in these events, only NS and SS events can occur and I doubt SS stuff will occur considering what Sasuke just did, otherwise just remember sakura supports narutos dream for hokage and we got the 3 times hint of sakura as the girl like kushina and naruto still loves sakura. Something like this, so soon, if Hinata was around for a bit more, if the genjutsu was broke today and had some downtime, perhaps NH would have gotten one last chance, but now, the most important story elements are coming together, NS stuff cold occur on the side as minor as it is, and these impacts on Sakura to come, well SS has no excuses for this one, the land of iron was full of excuses, the "sasuke cares for sakuras power in 632" was bullsh**, the "he is tsundere, jealous of naruto and sakuras relationship, acting tough but honest to sakura, would have saved her, knew kakashi would react, etc, this chapter summed up SS and its absolute bullsh** at this point.

 

Ladies and Gentlemen, this may just have been a confirmed kill.

The thing is kishi might take long for NS to be canon because he's not trying to make the story too easy for the readers

 

Knowing NS is endgame seems pretty easy to me. 

 

And fuuuuck you Sasuke, revolution, WTF? Guess it's time to buy the popcorn to watch SasuNaru fight   which is actually no surprise, but I was hoping to see a proper one since the beginning of Shippuden.

Yeah by this point its kind of obvious whats going to happen now, Naruto and Sasuke are going to fight, Sasuke gets his ass brutally kicked, and sends Naruto home home  after he admits that He will never be able to beat Naruto and before he dies. that's my theory for the next few chapter's.

The man just threatened to break everything that you had just come to secure, he threatened your friends, as well as your grand mother. He obviously doesn't get it. He won't, but he is calling for some whips on his ass before he goes back to Naruto's side and then, fights Sakura for his hand.

I actually revisited chapter 485 and a couple next as they give us the best forshadowing of what we're gonna see next. Its the most big forshadowing of Naruto vs Sasuke showdown in the whole manga. Technically all they do is talk about the moments we're facing in this manga right now. I recommend to reread them.

They actually say some shady stuff, Naruto does especially. I mean, he says they will both die if Sasuke doesn't let go of his hatred during the final fight. Still Sakura sees the possibility of a happy ending for EVERYONE on Team 7 in his words.

Well, I don't remember Indra and Asura killing each other. Am I wrong? I thought they just waged war against each other putting a burden on the next generations. Naruto might mean that he will finally resolve the issue once and for all. Well, its funny that their deaths would actually be a pretty solid resolution since they both never had kids and that would be the end of their bloodlines.

I'm just speculating though. Overall I agree with you. We all know for sure that both Naruto and Sakura won't die, at least they are okay in two years (in the movie). OR IS THE MOVIE AN ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE?? Nah.

What I was saying is that Sasuke's death might not be off the table completely, but so very unlikely it is even hard to imagine it. (But the possibility of his death might be the reason we don't see concept arts of future Sasuke for The Last movie. They don't want to spoil the tension of the situation either way.)

Still, according to 485, Naruto seems to want to break Sasuke with sheer willpower and physical pressure. To exaust him, to make him feel despair and break his overconfidence. Until Sasuke accepts NAruto as an equal or a superior, he won't listen. In this showdown we will see Naruto actually winning a match against Sasuke for the first time, not just persuading Sasuke to do right. I also think that means that Sakura won't be a part of the fight. If she helped it wouldn't be an equal fight.

I imagine a scene where Sasuke takes Sakura hostage in an act of desperation. That would be too low even for Sasuke. He might destroy his own morale by this action itself. And then Naruto would tell something (like "remeber who you are" - high five for the Lion King reference) and Sasuke will let Sakura go and crumble.
