For anyone that is well versed in the English language, do you agree with the following?

If the meaning of the conjunction "even though" means "despite the fact that", then that means that it's always meant to be used for opposition/contradiction of something. So by that knowledge if Kakashi wanted to say that Sakura's feelings got stronger how do you render the translation "even though you still like him/it's the same love, that feeling is something different" (which most of the people from the SS/NH side translated as) as him saying that her feelings have matured (loving him on a totally different level) rather than faded (lingering feelings)? "that feeling is something different" must be in opposition/contraction of the fact that she still likes him/it's the same love, so how can you even render that as matured feelings if it wouldn't be in opposition/contradiction of that fact?

If that's the translation they're going with, then yeah it's contradictory.

 

English is my native language and grammar is one of my stronger points academically.

So that pretty much means that the interpretations of most of their own translations are faulty. The only translation that supports their interpretation is Viz's translation, and perhaps Takl's translation.

I'm not sure if "yet" can be used to say her feelings have matured when used as a conjunction. I would say her feelings have faded with this translation, still.

No matter how they twist it its pretty much ASS  just by adding this line : love is love and yet the feelings are different.

you still care for the guy who've made an attempt on your life...  it tells you that its about the "change" of her feelings of the nature of her love for him before Romantic change Platonic  but whatever leave SS to their own demise lol .

XD We can safely say that one of the things not going as planned is Naruto finding a woman like her, especially because he did not expand on it like he did with the rest.  It doesnt mean Naruto hasnt found a woman in general, because he is talking about Kushinas words specifically.  The correct and logical way of looking at it is Naruto has not found a woman like Kushina. Regarding NaruSaku and their twisted mindset:  Sakura has been paralleled to Kushina, right? So this means that Naruto is acknowledging Sakura is NOT his girlfriend, because she (nor anyone else) is not referenced.  That also validates the argument even more that Naruto was playing around/joking in chapter 631.  Thetruth came out here, and he did not say that Sakura is his girlfriend (and the woman like his mom that he found). In my opinion, if Naruto was so in love with Sakura, she would have been referenced in some way; he was never shy about his feelings in the past.  She wasnt brought up at all.NaruSaku fans are adding words (which is a big no-no for translators) when they say Naruto doing his best translates to Im doing my best to win Sakura over.  Thats incorrect.  All he says is そこそこガンバってたんだ[Id say] Im doing my best!  Hes just working hard in general, and acknowledges that not everything his mom told him will happen, being with someone like his mother is included in that. So, Kushinas words are no longer (not that they really ever were) a good argument for pro-NS fans. Kishimoto is openly declaring with this scene that there are other possibilities out there; Naruto may not end up with a woman like his mom (temper/personality wise).  The statement also does not specifically say he has done the opposite of her words, but its possible that could also happen (again, context!). Then there is the possibility Naruto will end up with no one. EDIT: oh just to clarify something Translations vary and so do opinions, but the actual word yet まだ [mada - in the sense of havent done something yet], is not present in the RAW. It only says that not everything his mom told him is going well/but he is doing his best, not that he hasnt done everything yet. Hope this helps!"

Don't bother taking my text outside. I have no desire in fighting them. This is just to clear up some doubts WITHIN this FC so it should stay IN HERE.
1. There is an inconsistency in the above translation regarding そこそこ.
First translation: そこそこ [sokosoko] which is a somewhat odd way to phrase the sentence; it means reasonably/fairly well/or so/about depending on context.
Second translation: All he says is そこそこガンバってたんだ[Id say] Im doing my best! 

The first translation and second translation is VERY different. Please make up your mind. Reasonably/fairly well/or so/about does NOT equate to best.

Whether he expanded or not has NOTHING to do with whether Naruto has found a woman like her or not. I agree in my own opinion(not as translation) that romance is one thing he hasn't succeeded yet but the content of WHY it hasn't succeeded is not shown in the dialogue. You are automatically assuming that he has not succeeded in the romance department because he hasn't found a woman like Kushina, when it could be that he has found a girl like Kushina but haven't confessed to her yet. The reason has not been stated and hence your claim is nothing more than a convenient assumption. It is NOT translation.

3. "Hes just working hard in general, and acknowledges [b]that not everything his mom told him will happen, "
Will happen? There was NO future tense in that dialogue. Incorrect translation.

4. "being with someone like his mother is included in that."
Not stated in text. Convenient assumption. Again this is NOT translation.
